To those saying "but there were already people who knew it was wrong", I never denied this notion. Yes, from the very first case of slavery there were people who opposed. People who back then were considered intelectuals but today would essentially be part of the majority who realize slavery is bad.
But back then they were a minority. You have to consider the population, your average Joe who farms cabbage for a living and thats pretty much his living.
No, these people weren't educated. The vast majority weren't educated like we are today. Do not apply an outlier as a generality.

You know I'll agree on a few levels here. MANY people "of that time" were simply using the tools available to advance their own position, and didn't engage in a lot of critical thinking about their choices. AND sadly, like blondie here, that still holds true today. Which is why we NEED national laws to curtail rotten behavior by people who are way to presumptuous about their ideological beliefs that, when they're ALLOWED to, for instance, control poor women by denying their medical choices as regards reproduction, OR as is happening AT THIS MOMENT in Texas, apparently be allowed to hunt down people protesting for something they don't like can simply go out and gun them down, they DO IT!

What are you talking about, people were educated during them times they knew slavery was evil, anti slavery authors from Europe to America wrote against chattel slavery, anti slavery abolitionist. From as far back as the 1700s. Maybe you should take the time to educate yourself. To say people didn't know better is justifying slavery.
Olaudah Equiano published his autobiography in 1789 in order to describe the humiliations suffered by enslaved people as well as to condemn the slave trade as an inhumane institution. Although some scholars have questioned whether he was born in Africa, ,, "they were people like you that made excuses, "
The American Anti-Slavery Society was an abolitionist society founded by William Lloyd Garrison and Arthur Tappan. Frederick Douglass, an escaped slave, had become a prominent abolitionist and was a key leader of this society, December 1833, Philadelphia, PA

But this doesn't mean the vast majority of the population was educated enough to understand or even challenge the moral status quo.
Ethics change from time period to time period. Today we still discuss if abortion is good or wrong. 50 years from now, society may mock it, regardless of what we choose today.

White Under Belly channel have many of people sharing the exact same feeling when it was happening. It amazes me that what the blonde said is a surprise. In my opinion she was just saying the quiet part aloud. Below is a direct quote from the former British prime minister, Boris Johnson, who in 2002 said that ending the colonisation of Africa was a mistake and that Britain barely had anything to do with enslaving Africans.
“The continent may be a blot, but it is not a blot upon our conscience. The problem is not that we were once in charge, but that we are not in charge any more,” Boris Johnson.
Johnson went on further to write: “The best fate for Africa would be if the old colonial powers, or their citizens, scrambled once again in her direction; on the understanding that this time they will not be asked to feel guilty.”
Written as a column in the Spectator newspaper in 2002. Years later they made him Prime Minister. You couldn’t make this 💩up. SMDH.
In my opinion, 4/5 white people would agree with the blonde.

Again, not considering the time period. Back then your life expectancy wouldn't go over 40. So to these civilizations 13 yo kids weren't really considered kids as they already fulfilled a quarter of their lifetime. They started working at this age and such.
And the mere concept of consent and maturity back then was incredibly under developed or even discussed. Today we know, with scientific proof, what it does to a child. And how important it is for children today to have their play time and essentially grow as actual children. But back then you were already an adult.

Slavery has never been worse than right now, actually. What else do you call child sex slavery by the cartels as the young are prostituted out? Saudi Arabia still imports slaves from Africa, which black Africans abduct to sell, just like they did before the Civil War ended that form of slavery. Modern America participates. What else do you call seeing the blatant symbols of cartel "rape trees" on the border, and our politicians refuse to secure the border? The world is just as savage as it's always been. We haven't evolved or learned a damn thing from the mistakes of our ancestors. In fact, we're probably worse.

Sigh, from the beginning contemporaries with in those times thought slavery was an evil institution so much so that it literally divided the country in a civil war. To say the majority of people thought slavery was ok is disingenuous and poorly thought out. Yes, it may have taken years for some of this information to get out. But there were literally popular books, countless news articles and a lot of debates in academic circles that also bled out into the main stream society that made it impossible for people not to take sides on the issue. The issue here is the blonde goofy goes on to say that some slaves were happy to be slaves, because they “didn’t know differently”. Let’s call it what it is, many people including this chick have trouble thinking black people have basic humanity.
