- I tried my hand at sewing some vintage blouses and tops and was surprised by the construction of some of them! I also had some fun trying to match the ~vibes~ of the patterns when trying them on. Also, I share some unexpected news!

Engineering knits is a place for people who enjoy all kinds of vintage and antique crafts - from sewing to knitting, crochet to embroidery I like to try it all. I definitely have a preference for historical fibre crafts, and it is my dream to one day make an entire outfit from sheep to sweater. I hope you enjoy watching me and my favorite companion, Nutella, struggle through some fascinating projects! - Jak na to + styl
That last blouse was so cool! Can't wait to see more knitting. Glad you're back!
I can't be alone in wanting pretty blouses with jeans. On my wall is a gorgeous faded red western blouse with beautiful roses on the yoke. My grandmother, Flossie, made it for me when I was 10 in 1957. Even simple camp shirt patterns are totally absent from the catalogs. In the past I loved making white camp shirts with big 1940s buttons or crochet on the collar.
Many of us have and/or walk dogs and the feminine blouse with jeans is a market waiting to boom...either in stores or in patterns. One thing I loved was doing hand sewing on buttons and crochet or the collar facing...outside watching the kids play.
I really love the red one! It's so unique! 🇨🇦
That sewing machine! I am utterly in love! 😍
I love your antique sewing machine! I have never seen something like this before and I want it so bad now! The blouses and the looks you created are adorable as well, the second one is my favourite. Thank you for your inspiring videos, I just discovered your channel and I will watch more of it.
That Last blouse is so cool! Love it! 💖
Did anyone else not get a notification for this video? I didn't see this until I realized it's been a while since I've seen a video from this channel and decided to see if one was posted.
I love them all but the last one was the best...and your hair styles are beautiful....
I loved all three and the second pattern is the first item of wearable clothing that I ever sewed for myself but, stop the bus! Just loving the wrap blouse and would have many of them in my wardrobe... I am already looking for a pattern. Thanks for sharing and inspiring. Good luck with your move.
These blouses are so cute! I especially love the red one with the interesting construction, I think it drapes very nicely. Would you mind sharing the patterns for the blouses? I'm always looking for vintage style patterns that aren't by the big pattern companies.
The move sounds very stressfull, I hope everything went well!
These all came out so well, and I love how you recreated the vibes of the views on the patterns! I'm looking forward to seeing you do this again in the future (should you choose to do so, of course).
The last blouse was so unique.
your antique sewing machine is the bomb!! awesome
I love all of the blouses, but that last one was very interesting. I can imagine that as a over dress too 😊 xx
All the blouses are supercute.
Loving the tops, really lovely fabric and design
Aaah! Welcome back. I'm sorry to say that I didn't notice you weren't posting much, but I realized I did miss how cheerful and productive your videos made me feel as soon as I saw you pop up in my feed. ☺️
I really like the red blouse with the unusual construction! Where was the pattern from?
That last blouse was so interesting. What pattern make and model was it, again?
all are really nice, but the last one, the red is so beautiful and different, so really nice.
Could you include information on which patterns you used please?
I loved all three blouses but really the red one was SO interesting that I'd love to try it myself!
I love so much your channel and who you are. go on please !
I love the collared white one. Very pretty
I love vintage style too! 1920’s-1950’s! Fun video and beautiful shirts!
They are lovely. They all look comfortable and cool. The last one is very weird but once on wow!
Thank you! Three successes, and that red blouse!!!
Whoa that last blouse is wild! Is there a name for that construction/style? They all look wonderful and congrats on the move!
After some googling, it's called a wrap around blouse. There's a pdf with the same style being sold on Etsy
someone on Etsy called it a Parnell Wrap Blouse
I have to try that Mrs. Depew pattern. It looks so cool!
That last blouse is so strange and cool 😍 Loved to see you struggling with your hair, you made one video before and I find it entertaining as I'm also terrible at it. Good luck with the move, and hopefully we'll get more videos from you soon.
The second look is adorable and very flattering and I love it! Well done. :)
Awesome! Wishing you all the best with the move!
Yay I love vintage blouses!
Oh that white blouse is SO cute! Good luck with all the moving stuff too!
Beautiful top (especially the red one). Would it be possible to have the references for them?
I love, love, love seeing that sewing machine of yours working! I think I would spend hours watching this machine just sewing and sewing... it is really a sweetheart and I would love to have one just like it!
The blouse I liked the most was the second one. Congratulations on the choice of model and the perfect confection!
The second one is so lovely! I adore the collar there. Amazing! 😍
All of the blouses are lovely…but that last one is so unique! Thanks for sharing
The red blouse is a bit like the walk away dress. I think it was called that. It was one of the pattern challenges, a few years ago, on the Great British Sewing Bee
Moving cross-country is a lot, I've done it. We will be happy to see you when life regulates. Take the time you need to minimize the stress of the move for you and yours, including Nutella who is an absolute delight in these videos.
I've never seen anything like that last blouse before either! They all turned out lovely!
Glad to see you again :D
Also, what a beautiful antique machine...is it a chainstitch?
Absolutely beautiful ❤️
I hope the move wasn’t too disruptive. Your blouses are delightful!
The three blouses you made came out really cute and look really good on you. Good luck with your move.
Last one was very cool to see you put on. Never saw a shirt like that. The second one was very pretty on you though. Thats my favorite.
I love the puffed sleeved blouse. So flattering and the fabric was perfect for it.
On the last one, how careful do you need to be when you raise your arm? I couldn't quite tell how far it overlapped.
Also throwing in for that last one! So rad! I have yet to attempt to make clothes, and already have too many things on my list for when I do, but I might just have to add that one to the list. And I just adore a good vintage style calico print.
I love all the fabrics you choose! Where did you find them?
Awesome blouses
Love seeing your projects... and also wondering: where's Nutella?!
Glad you back. Where is Nutella? Are you buying a house ? Love the blouses
The last blouse reminds me of the Walkaway Dress - very confusing while you're working on it, but makes perfect sense on!
I loved this video, thank you. Good luck with the move.
Oh gosh good luck with moving again
So pleased to see you back! ❤ I’ve been eyeing that last top (red one) on Etsy and I’m glad to see it made up.
I liked them all but I loved the last one! Good luck with the move.
Oh I love the 2nd one!
All 3 blouses are cute. 🌷
Lovely tops. 💗
this is so interesting: for me, it is the winter wardrobe that is severelly lacking =O
So cute! Thank you for sharing amidst the moving preparation.
Well I 'm slightly tall but with a short torso and I have to sew all my dresses ( when I try them in a store, the waist line hits my hips line and no size fits) but I can buy tops....complementary situations !
I love your new blouses and particularly the pasta one!
Congratulations for your upcoming craft office space..,.
I purchased the pattern for that bow blouse ages ago and had it printed and now I really think its time to make it. :) Yours came out so great. (I'm going to have to size mine up of course... )
🤗May I ask where you got the patterns? I've been looking for a nice blouse pattern🥰
Where did you get the pattern for that red blouse? It's so cool.
Hi, Thank you for the video. I find myself in the same predicament as you. May I ask where you found the patterns, please. I'm assuming Etsy but where? Yours, Ann
Am I missing something? Is there a link to the patterns used?
