Gentleman, for all of those who are wondering. This is an internal computer bypass. I installed 2 different micro bypasses.. neither of them worked. I did this wonderful trick, BIG SHOUT OUT TO DEAN AND FERNANDO for posting it!!!!! And it worked like a charm. I do not have the micro bypass hooked up, and I do not have the parking brake wire connected/grounded. I turned my vehicle on and off multiple times, drove it around the block after turning it on and off multiple times, all without the parking brake wire connected/grounded and it hasn’t grayed out any options or certain functions. Right now I do not have a HDMI cable connected to the radio yet, but for anyone with the DMH-W4660NEX CZcams does not shut off or switch to the radio menu screen when you drive. Dangerous I know, but I dont watch anything when I’m driving. But regardless, IT WORKS!!!!!

Still works on newest update. Took about 20 attempts. I had to hold the right corner about 12 seconds. 3800nex. Thanks bro youre a legend!
I read every comment and just want to clear some things up. I have the Pioneer DMH W4660NEX. I just installed it 3 weeks ago. Of course a lot didnt work while i was driving. even the settings. It sucked. I bought the 3 wire module and thought i was good, but no. The HDMI cable input would give me the warning when i started to move. I have not done any firmware updates. I have version 1.33 not 1.13 I did this trick today, then immediately drove around the block watching ESPN via HDMI cable. Thats all ive tested so far, but it would appear the fix works. I did not uninstall the 3 wire module. Its still wired in.
Brillian! Worked on my 4660. You don’t have to off and on, just jump to a different screen and then back to try again. Took me 3 times.
Worked like a charm on my DMH-7600NEX. I tried 6-7 times without using the stop watch and it failed. First time I used the stop watch it worked. Like he said, very time sensitive.
Did you need to ground the parking brake wire or did you leave it as is??

One more key note if people are struggling... I think the key needs to be turned on all the way. I tried 5 times with out the engine on and it wouldn’t work until I turned the car on fully.

Does any of these brake bypass tricks work on the DMH C5500NEX ?? I have tried and tried by what this vid does and no luck and def shut off and return on key after fail every try. My build firmware says on device 8.13 and year June 2023 but on support current available build is 8.12? is that my issue you think?
Took five tries but finally got it to work on my pioneer WC6600 Nex with 3.0 firmware, found that finger placement was just as important as timing.
I’m trying to get my wc6600 to work but I can’t get it to complete and I did timed 10sec on each side but it doesn’t work
@@abraz25 insure you are pressing the exact area of the screen as described in the video, you will need patience
I’ve tried several times and can’t get it to work. Do you have the micro bypass wired in on this model or did you take it out
I got it to work it was just getting the timing down. But my hdmi is still greyed out. Any other ideas that might correct that
thank you for the clip, and it works, make sure you have enough lights to see the actual corner of the screen, I was trying to do it at night, I'm assuming I kept missing the first corner during the low light situation, that's why didn't work. in regards to license, there is about 20 or 30 hits on the next button, make sure you finish it as well. good luck you guys!!

I just tried this today with my new 4660NEX, it had version 1.3 pre installed. I followed the instructions, received the set on pop-up, but it didint seem to make a difference, android auto still says stop car before proceeding.
Does this need to be done every time you turn on the car? Is this still a valid work around?
Yea. I activated it on mine too. It still says use parking break as well. Not sure what this does.
INSTRUCTIONS FROM PIONEER it says Don not turn you unit off or eject the USB storage device while the firmware is being updated. you can only update the firmware when the vehicle is stopped, and the parking brake is engaged.

Finally got mine to work. Had to turn the vehicle on. My parking brake light doesnt work, IDK is this radio has anything to do with it.

Hasn't worked on my 2660 yet. Using stopwatch, tried it ten times so far. in the aux off screen.
Does this work on my dmh w2700nex? This unit has a GPS antenna but doesn't seem to have a source off option.
So are you just nutralizing the brake wire? Or is the wire cinnected to the harness?

I am on 1.13 and have done the finger touch thing. It says set on but does not disable the brake. Still says "voice navigation only while driving"

Hey, Question for You. I'm installing a Pioneer DMH-W2770NEX on my 1972 VW Thing. I have two problems. One, It does not have a hand break ligth indicator, so no circuit to connect it to, I assumed one of those Bypass Chips would do the trick, but the one I got sais not compatible for DMH-W models. Two, the speedo is analog, so no VSS to connect to, I'm thinking on getting a GPS speedo sending unit, and connect it to the sending unit output to the speedo. Any advise on either? Thank you so much for your advise.

I found another video of this saved my life I thought the micro bypass would solve this but it is an internal bypass and that solved it now can play videos while in motion 😉 I also have the 8600nex with a Amazon firestick in the back

Just had to go with a relay bybass from amazon work perfect

Can't get it to work on a DMH-C2550. Firmware is up to date. Tried 10 seconds and also tried 15. Did each 20-30 times. Nada. None of the apps Pioneer has mention my specific unit. Anyone have any info?

Yep, this will not work with the 2660nex at all. And there is no downloads except the manuals for this unit. I bought the wrong unit.

I did a bypass and the screen touch thing in each corner after 10 seconds and my USB and hdmi is greyed out no matter what I do. I just did the 4660NEX install with a Maestro RR. Do you have any idea how to enable the USB and HDMI? The USB works because I did a firmware update using it.

Jeremy, i had an issue and bought a new HMDI micro adapter. It was cheap. at least that works now. I also installed the chip bypass. it worked at 1st. now it doesnt. Im going to check my firmware and try this trick next.

It worked for my 3800nex. When the vehicle is in motion, I still get the pop up screen saying I need to be in park to view videos. Idk how bypass it to view CZcams videos

I just bought this unit yesterday..according to Crutchfield this unit doesn't actually have GPS built in which is fine..the antenna is only used for connectivity with android auto..does this mean the antenna does not need to be mounted on the outside of the vehicle? Can it be mounted on the inside of the dash hidden away?
It can be hidden inside the dash
@@juniorgarcia2313 believe it or not I did try both methods and hiding it made my android auto stop working. Keeping it in the cabin makes it work fine so I think something is back there causing interference
@@juniorgarcia2313 the issue im.having at this point is the unit won't recognize my phones mobile Hotspot but it will recognize my wives phone. Hers is a galaxy a50 and Mines a note 10 plus..I dont see the issue
So are you saying fresh out of the box and no need for the micro bypass, you can just bypass the parking sensor by just doing this trick? Or do you need the Bypass microchip installed and do this trick afterwards?

You do not need the micro bypass at all. This trick basically tells the headunits internal computer that the parking brake is always on.
Looking like some units are shipping with firmware version 1.14 installed at the factory and although we see SET ON on the screen, features are still locked out. Do you know how this can be done on the DMH-1700NEX? There seems to be no firmware updates to download on the pioneer sites and I can't find any info out there on how to "set on" for the 1700NEX since the UI is different than the W4660NEX thats shown in the video. Since the 1700NEX is still fairly new I imagine that there has to be someway to do it.

@@troybandy2349 not yet. I called Pioneer and she said if you could access all the bluetooth options, you should be able to accept the terms of service so she sent a support ticket in. I'll keep you posted
There's a few pages you have to scroll then click Next through before the acceptance box is clickable.
For real bro make a video if you can find a way to accept the terms of use agreement... I’ve had this radio for a week and only use Bluetooth it’s very annoying

You do not need to ground the parking brake wire. This bypasses the need for a micro bypass.

@@cabuzzi Yes, I bought the bypass on Amazon from DIYBypass that was supposed to work with my DMH 8600NEX and it didn't so I tried this with the bypass still hooked up and it works.

This is a funny comment! 😂 it basically lets you play videos like Netflix and CZcams etc while driving. You normally can only do this when the car is in Park. A brake bypass tricks the radio to allow you to see what you want while the car is in motion. 👍🏼
This is the worst. I hate all these so called safety locks on everything today. In many cases its less safe.

No success with simply grounding the parking brake wire. About to attempt regression to firmware 1.13 via USB. Will report back with my findings.
Justin Lee how did you even get the 1.14 update? I only see 1.13 that was released on June 24, 2020 on Pioneer’s site 🤷🏾♂️
It was already updated to 1.14 when i bought it. I just bought the wires on amazon to bypass it. It works now

Will not work with 1.14 update. Use micro pulse bypass. This will work for sure. Please do not use illegally. DIYBypass serial X002LVJBIJ on amazone. Super easy to install. Blue white to blue, green to parking break green and black to car black ground. Done
