I've been running the 2660NEX for about a year a half. I'm really happy with the unit, it sounds great and implements CarPlay really well. I thought the resolution would be a killer, but it actually looks quite sharp. The quality is what I expect from Pioneer.
I got a question. I just got one like this! But when I connect with CarPlay I can’t hear no typing or when I call somone I can’t hear anything from my speakers basically I don’t got any noise when I’m connected to CarPlay. How do I fix that? And then I have to connect my Bluetooth every time I turn it on!! I need hellppppppp
@@cristofergomez3002 I've never had that issue. I would double check to see if your head unit is on mute with car play. I heard that can be an issue with some head units.
I’m debating on getting this but the resolution looks pretty crappy. How is working now? Is it laggy, or unresponsive now that you’ve had it for a while? Thanks a lot!!
@@boombop4818 It's still working great, the same as the day I installed it. The resolution is actually not that big of a factor, when I'm using CarPlay, it looks much sharper than the factory Sync radio in my 2021 Ranger Tremor. I'd buy it again.
I purchased the 2660 and love it. The shop that installed it however was not helpful regarding offering much info about the features. The included manuals are not worth the paper they wasted to print them, and the downloadable version, while very inclusive, was not especially helpful because trying to figure out functions required you already know where and what they are called. I had additional installation work at another shop because it was closer to home, and while they charged more, my work was completed when they said it would be completed. The first place had my ride for 10 days while I was traveling, knowing what day I needed it upon my return. The car wasn’t ready after 10 days, meaning I was had to Uber back the next day and still I sat in the waiting room for at least an hour. Each Uber was $60 each way. A shit deal. The second shop was more helpful about features and some hand holding as I wanted some details. Your video covers EVERYTHING practically Thx. ❤
Every time we start the car the 2600nex immediately blasts whatever you were playing last on your phone- on Apple Music, Spotify or audible. On both my partners phone and mine depending on which one was connected via Bluetooth last. We absolutely hate it. 😅 Does anyone know how to turn this auto play function off? Without having to turn Bluetooth off on both our phones before turning on the car?
I've been looking for one of these 2660NEX units or almost a year, and they're always sold out. The single USB is a real bummer. Even a MicroSD card slot would be nice. I mean just because I'm using my phone for Nev doesn't mean I want to listen to Spotify or Pandora automatically.
What's the difference between this and a Kenwood/JVC unit? Love eq and time alignment. Have a kw-v250bt now and want a bigger screen to put cam in radio thanks for help
Is this dmh 2660 model better than the dmh w2770nex model? I’m trying to decide which one is better. I know the 2660 model has hd radio and the 2770 nex model does not. I’m not sure if the 2660 model is wireless Apple car play
From my research the 2660 does not have wireless car play, however many people have stated the 2660 is more responsive and the 2770 downgraded to 2-volt pre outs from the 2660 having 4-volt pre outs.
Has anyone noticed that when skipping songs, it doesnt register multiple taps on the skip button for spotify, like it will register 1 then you have to wait a second then do it again for it to do a second, is this just a software glitch that can be solved through firmware update? I love how it looks but the ability to not skip fairly quickly is a major downside to me, the looks is what made me keep it, but would like to know if there is something i can do to fix this
I have the DMH 1500 NEX, I’m stuck at the “select language” screen. The touch screen won’t respond…..(I’ve tried resetting button) do you have tips/tricks?
I had it before they had a chip shortage, great head unit and it brings my alpine speakers to life! But Does any else’s randomly shuts off while there driving and then 3 minutes later it’s boots back up? That’s been my biggest issue with this thing. Got it checked out and no shortage issues.
If i drive to a store turn the car off then come back and turn the car on it won’t turn on right away. Had this issue since I first Installed it. So i would have to restart the car to get it to turn on. Now I am having an issue where I can’t hear phone calls or hear siri. Annoying.
I've been trying to find a way to connect Apple CarPlay Wirelessly but have not been able to find a solution. Would I need to buy something for that to work? or is there already a way without me purchasing something to make it Wireless.
I don't think Pioneer has released firmware updates for the 2660NEX as of yet. When they do, load the update on a usb stick and plug it into your usb extension on your Pioneer unit. Go to settings and firmware, you should see an update setting. It updates automatically once you hit the button.
I'm certain this is a dumb question, but does this unit allow you to cycle through NON-Android-Auto audio sources (radio, Sirius XM, etc.) with use of the steering wheel controls WITHOUT exiting Navigation/Android Auto? I expect to have Google Maps up most of the time (which seems like it requires Android Auto to be running?), but still want to be able to control the radio without having to exit the Navigation screen to do so.
OK I think I understand your question. If you’re running the mapping off of your android and want to change the radio station on the steering wheel controls. You should be able to do that. But you won’t be able to switch sources unless you exit out of android auto mode. If you’re listening to the radio while navigating of course, it will still run in the background, and the prompt to voice command will override the music when it’s time to make a maneuver. But this radio will not split screen the navigation on one side and the radio on the other side. hope that helps
I have a question for anyone that can answer it. can i run my rear speakers off the headunits rear speaker outputs and use the front and sub rca via a 4 chanell amp to power 4 speakers and a sub?
you can bypass the parking brake by connecting the green parking brake wire to your ground connection between the head unit and the aftermarket harness
obviously the adapter is the optimal choice, but if the individual doesnt have access to it which he obviously didnt, splicing into the ground is a super easy solution as well and free.
@@richardtreadwell5338 that doesnt work on some pioneer radios. it needs a pulse on and off sequence to tell the radio its engaged. the harness is the best way to go, if you cant get one, you can use a regular toggle switch and just flip it on and off a couple times when u turn the car on
I was just considering this unit. In a vehicle without steering wheel controls how are the touch screen buttons to live with? My only holdback has been wondering if I should get one with physical volume buttons or not..
Save yourself the cash and buy the older Pioneer with physical buttons. I was going to upgrade my 4100Nex last year when I had the opportunity to use a newer unit the interface was still the same, wasn't noticeably faster and the buttons didn't feel nice.
