it was so horrible!!! I couldn't believe "Chef" Pi (not that I think she is any type of actual professional chef) tried to tell the girl who reviewed her she needed to take accountability for her actions. From watching the girls actual review of the sauce she was super nice compared to some of the other reviews. Pi just made herself look soooo bad. because a lot of legit self-owned businesses are startups by young, talented, individuals who do their work and do their research, and work months if not years to prepare a product (food or good) for launch, and can pour thousands of personal financing into this project. But chef pee made little tiktoks, saw the potential of peoples curiosity, and blundered through a cottage sale of a sauce. chef pee actually owned a restaurant, but that went tits up for some reason - not a big surprise, if im honest. peepee isn't really someone who does accountability or research, and its frustrating seeing someone who does the bare minimal of work get all these promos and opportunities, while others will fight and pour their soul into a dream to make their business work.

I'm food safety certified and in hindsight I'm seriously wondering if there are any requirements for out of kitchen caterers before they start their business. It would seem crazy to me for there to be nothing, like... I would assume they need a business permit and that permit requires certification... but maybe that just isnt something easily regulated idk. Might explain how she views customers though. If she was a freelance caterer then customers would go to her for issues and how they wanted them fixed as opposed to working in a restaurant where the chef has to appease the customer while staying true to their brand.

The one thing that drives me nuts that I can actually comment on is 'Chef' Pii's comment about how delusional Alle is for sending the sample to be tested. I understand Pii's point is "you contaminated it of course they'll say it's contaminated" but that's not how culture tests work lol. Anybody who knows what they're looking at knows what bacteria/virus they're examining and can determine where it came from based on biological shape and amount per field view. A human cannot spontaneously inoculate Clostridium botulinum (botulism) into a sauce by a light finger dab on the surface of the bottle. Botulism doesn't even come from humans. If there is botulism detected, then it came from the spoilt milk and or raw weathered honey. It's possible to not know for certain if other bacteria came from her finger or the sauce itself, but Alle couldn't contaminate the sample with botulism.

    • @allie--oop
      @allie--oop Před 7 měsíci

@@vickimaccallumvlogs Bacteria all have preferences on how they like to grow or how they can best survive in an environment. They either need oxygen to thrive or don't - meaning some bacteria will be more toward the bottom and some will be toward the top. Botulism is low-oxygen dependent so if we're speaking specifically in a bottle; should be in the middle. It doesn't like full oxygen. You wouldn't find it at the surface like from a finger dab (if it even could come from a touch). Streptococcus aureus which is a bacteria found on our skin, is a facultative anaerobe which means it prefers oxygen but can thrive in no oxygen. So it would be concentrated at the top of the bottle and may be present throughout the bottle.
We follow a very specific flow chart to determine the type and origin of bacteria. Again, it can be pretty difficult to properly analyze an open old sample but a lab would know exactly what was in there and it would be obvious if it came from human contact or spoilage. If botulism was found, that means it isn't shelf-stable as of course the sauce was marketed to be.

I worked in fast food for 5 years and my partner was a butcher for I almost 10 years so we both know a good bit about food safety and traceability, we were both shocked and disgusted when we first heard about the pink sauce. The food wasn't FDA approved so there was no batch numbers for traceability and the fact it contained raw honey and milk and then was being posted long distance with no refrigeration 🤯🤦‍♀️

Chef Pii needs to stop looking at these people like "haters on the internet" and start looking at them like customers that she has compromised. It is her responsibility as the owner to do the research. I lost all respect for Karamo, he clearly has no clue about the situation and is taking his guest's biased word for it. I hope he can appreciate that he at least won't get salmonella from the FDA approved egg on his face.

She’s so unbelievably rude…. At this point we should stop telling her why she’s wrong and let her keep doing her thing, the FDA/authorities will handle her when the time comes 🙄 You cannot legally sell shit that’s consumable without getting licenses and such. Growing up my mother had a side hustle making these pepper jelly dips (sounds weird but don’t knock it till you try it lmao) and it was SOOOOO hard for her to get all the right stuff to be able to do it legally, and she was just selling at local farmers markets. Once you put your stuff on a website and are selling to a HUUUUGE market, you then need to get even more licenses and have your facility checked by the proper people, you can’t just make that shit in your home kitchen…

This has made me extremely disappointed in Karamo. He's supposed to be the mental/emotional side of the Fab 5. He's supposed to be the one who notices behaviors like "Chef" Pii's blatant manipulative behavior. This is, frankly, disgusting. Ally wanted the chairs to be separated because she does not feel comfortable being in the physical space of strangers and Pii invaded her disclosed boundary to go on and tell her she's a bad person... for reviewing her product and saying she doesn't like it
Disgusting. Infuriating. Karamo needs to apologise for putting that woman in that position to be treated like this

Ally actually did do that earlier in the show and was shot down by both Pii and the host, with the audience clapping. She mentioned numbered batches so they could be tracked in case of problems with the product (or something to that effect) and some other things, just to be cut off and belittled. Pii also said that she contacted all of her customers about the quality issues so she could make things right, just to turn around and say that she shouldn't have to; the customers (including Ally) should have to contact her. She contradicted herself so much on that talk show it was ridiculous.

The "chef" who didn't know what the FDA was, knows the industry? Right. I don't want to see that Pepto bismol succeed for 2 reasons: she lies with absolute ease and her past/current behavior. She's pandering because this stupid sauce is still a thing. If it had been shut down completely like it should have been, I am positive she wouldn't be claiming to be "taking accountability".
Also that talk show and especially the host are garbage. That's all.

She calls herself a chef, but she definitely isn't ServSafe certified. Which you have to be to be any form of a professional chef. Heck I got my certification working fast food. I truly believe they were being racist. They decided to go the angle of an independent Black woman being unfairly attacked by this mean white Karen who was intimidated by a powerful Black business woman and decided to try to take her down. The producers or whoever probably figured they'd go this route for attention since this was a hot topic but then also pandering to a race biased audience who would take at face value "Chef" Pii's flat out lies because it fit their narrative to believe it rather than question it. (I'm not saying the audience is Black, I'm saying race-biased; tons of white liberals fit that target audience perfectly, and any number of other demographics too. For that matter race aside you also could get people who are right wing saying they care about business rights and who are biased against social media, who would take this as a mean internet attack on a small business
I just think this particular show and interview feels more race- biased though.
Also the audience no doubt was instructed to clap and cheer etc when they did, so I want to give them a little slack but they were extra dickish by saying things too so I am not a fan of them.
Karamo clearly knew Jack shit about the topic, or at least I hope he did because if he really knew everything and still went with this shitty take, he's not only racist and a douchebag but also almost as delusional as "Chef" Pii. I don't know him at all but apparently he was on Queer Eye and someone said he was one of the more reasonable people on it. So I want to believe he just didn't know at all what was going on, the producers either didn't bother to learn either or they decided to go with this twist on purpose because it fit their narrative of poor Black woman attacked by mean white lady because white lady feels inferior and wants attention, and same for the audience-- maybe they knew nothing or maybe they decided to really get behind this lie because it fit their narrative.
Pii is a central part of the problem, with her gaslighting and outright lying to everyone's faces. So if Karamo honestly knew nothing, and he believed every word Pii said, then in his defense he Probably did think this was an overreaction.
But the thing is, he's the host... it's his job to know wtf is even being talked about in this interview. And I find it hard to believe he never heard anything at all about pink sauce beforehand, to the point that he was willing to let obvious lies not only slide, but he'd even back them up when they are the exact opposite of what happened in actual reality.
I had a similar view as you, to a point, before that interview. I didn't like Pii because she seemed super resistant to any constructive criticism and that's a HUUUUUGE issue if you're dealing with food.
Plus, she lied about the FDA sending an agent to her door and even faked the interaction.
She's a narcissistic lying, delusional brat IMO and the more I heard her talk or saw about this all the less I liked her. But since an actual professional brand got involved, I figured maybe it would be worth it for people to give it a fair try when it's officially out.
I was giving her extra benefit of the doubt. But after this interview, Pii and her sauce are not only dead to me, but when it's out I will tell my friends and family not to touch it with a 10 foot pole, because Pii doesn't deserve a penny of income from this sauce after she's been such a condescending POS.

Imagine you went to a restaurant and your friend got sick or even died from eating bad pork or something. You gonna go back to that restaurant? Would you be a little upset if that restaurant said “oh, sorry. We didn’t know the proper way to store meat before we started serving it, but we will look into it now.” Like be serious. Please do not sell things to the masses without quality control or a deep understanding of what you’re doing. It takes resources because it’s difficult and time consuming, but the alternative is dangerous.
