The original interview with the pink sauce lady and the Queer eye guy makes my blood boil every time. The level of idiocy is shocking! And what they did to that poor girl is unbelievable. I hope they both know how much of a joke they are to the entire internet after that mess!

It took Karamo months to apologize and he's only apologizing because it's affecting him. That isn't an apology because you've realized how wrong you were. It's lip service to save your income.
When P said they both learned a lot I felt that any negated any apology she made. Allie is a class act.

I honestly think the only reason he apologized is because of the new season of queer eye. They want to market it but the PR team knows they can’t do that without being flooded by Karamo hate unless he apologizes. Because he was all too happy about the “haters” before. Yep ye hit the nail on the head, this whole apology is a P.R. stunt if I ever seen one. He never seemed to show any remorse for the way he treated that poor girl before now, he had ample time to apologise before now and if he was sincerely sorry he would have reached out before now to do so but he only does it when he sees people's anger isn't dying down and he has a project coming out NO I don't buy it if it had of died down or there hadn't been an uproar over his behaviour he wouldn't be apologising now. I give the girl Allie alot of respect for being so humble after she was treated so badly when her review of the sauce wasn't even bad in the first place. He's a whole mess and "chef" P is useless.

I’ve never watched Queer Eye, or his show, so all I know him as is that jackass who was a total d-bag to a young woman for absolutely no freaking reason. I wonder how many other people are in my shoes also, with their singular impression of him being that one incident of him being an unforgivable a-hole.

As someone who used to love queer eye, this really took of my rose tinted glasses so to speak. I don’t think I have ever been so disappointed in someone than I am of him. I will never be able to watch that show -or read their book that I own- the same way. His whole shtick is helping people mentally with their life, help them gain confidence. Now see what he did with that fame! He stood on the side of the business owner who had nothing against shipping dairy products without any cooling, not a single thought of the buyers and the health issues that could cause

Karimo had me at the start, I thought it was genuine apology until Chef Pii said “the two of us have learnt a lot” and then his big headed self jumps in with the “THREE OF US”. Okay Karimo what has Ally learnt? To not go on a TV show to be belittled for the whole world to see? To not look on Twitter to see you mocking her? When Chef Pi said “the two of us have learnt a lot”, she was referring to herself and Ally so when Karimo, says “THREE OF US”, he’s trying to include himself and say that he has also learnt alot.

Idk.. that apology was just weird to me. Especially when he said he held his guests accountable, but during the pink sauce episode he didn't even really address that chef pii was wrong or anything.. and I actually watched a few minutes from a couple of his other episodes and it just seemed like it was the same stuff. And the audience siding with whoever the host was clearly siding with. It all seemed disingenuous to me.

Those shows on tv are manipulated . The producers tell the audience when to clap , cheer or to show disagreement. The people get paid for it ( little) so they are bound to obey .

There is no apology good enough from Karamo. He was forced to give this apology after MONTHS... No he was so in the wrong and trying to save face. Im really glad that the sauce is doing bad. i hope it tanks because of how chef pii treated people
The ONLY REASON he went through this is because his viewers and everyone else held him accountable. And his apology felt hollow. He intended it to sound sincere but it likely was not. And it never would have happened if his viewers weren't awesome enough to see through the whole bit and tell both him and chef pii they were wrong and owed the other woman an apology. I think Allie has maintained a classy attitude throughout and it really says a lot about her character.
It's in my Walmart and it has a 2 star rating. The written reviews are pretty bad. I would not have given Karamo the opportunity to apologize. Ally is good human 😇

I saw the Pink sauce in Walmart the other day and I thought “ wow, talk about getting a lucky break, even if you are not a really nice person”. I also am still suspect about it since every bottle had a different color sauce… every shade from cream to light pink to dark pink. Makes me feel like it’s not made consistently. Oh well , more power to Chef Pii I guess😊

I saw anne reardon tried recreating it using a fruit for the colouring and the colour fades to cream after a while..so maybe that was what happened

It just has to do with the chemistry, the pink colour cannot last, which is another reason it shouldn't be made. They would have all been pink when first shipped from the factory. Some are just losing their colour more quickly but it doesn't mean they were made any differently.
Dave’s gourmet should have kept up with chef pii and her reputation, I think it was a mistake on their part. Chef piiis arrogance ruined her chances

OMG the clip of the recent show is so bad it just makes him look so much worse. The fact he asked her in front of his 10 viewers to make her uncomfortable as possible. I have a feeling he was spoken to that if he didn’t do this he was going to get in serious trouble. I didn’t even know this show existed until this episode and this sadly will be the main focal point of his career moving forward. I doubt they extend his contract because of this. It’s a total PR move, not genuine and I hope the show gets cancelled. It CANT be doing that well.

Hey Markie, I have been a chronic stalker of your channel, but haven't commented before. I'm a 52 yr old mom of 5 married kids and gma to 16. C0vid hit my family harder than we ever dreamed. Mom died in my arms in the c ward, her mom, my gma, just two weeks later, in my arms as well. Dad barely survived, and has lasting impacts from it. I was in the hospital for 2 weeks with it, and one of my sons almost passed away but made it through. Also two pregnant daughter in laws had it at the same time...and that was ROUGH! The last year and a half has really blown my mind, and after watching this video, which in a way was really funny and lighthearted - but I want you to know how happy I am that you're starting to feel better. My advice, after all we've endured with it, is TAKE YOUR TIME. DO NOT RUSH your recovery. If you don't - if you try to push yourself too hard - you'll pro-long your recovery process. Take care of yourself, and keep in mind how very blessed you are to be on the mend and healing. Thank God!😘

A friend of mine got botulism; she said it was the worst thing that ever happened to her (she's got major pain issues and chronic pancreatitis). It took her months to get over it. Karamo still was making it about him and I wouldn't say it was a real apology. Because Allie did nothing wrong and didn't need to learn anything. She was extremely fair in her evaluation. Chef Pii created a brand which means people can evaluate the brand. Chef Pii I hope learned how to treat customers. Because I'm sure she'll try to make more creations.
I live next to Walmart & thankfully they aren't selling it! I would never buy that garbage! I had covid 2 years ago & it sucked! I still have issues with things not tasting the same as I remember them. Needless to say, I don't eat a lot of things anymore because of it. I'm glad you're getting better!
I was talking to a friend about this just yesterday. I've never had covid, I am at very high risk so have been extremely careful (like to hermit levels lol), where as she has had covid twice. Her whole family first had covid in June 2020 (just after the kids all went back to school 🙄) and her taste & smell were effected, the second time she had it her smell & taste weren't altered at all, she just had extreme fatigue & gastric issues (another interesting thing was how all four people in her family had completely different symptoms from each other _and_ from themselves when they had it a second time, so while they all to some degree had their taste & smell effected it was in a different way for all of them and the aftermath has been different too).
So, we were talking yesterday about her daughter no longer eating meat, but it's not because of the moral side of it. So that led to me asking if all of their senses of taste & smell were back to normal? She told me that she didn't think they would ever go back to normal now after over 2 and half years. She was telling me that they seem to have been permanently altered, and for her _everything_ she eats now has to have spice, onions, chilli, and peppers etc added to it, (but she can't stand any garlic, even the smell of it anymore), she used to dislike anything even mildly spicy and loved pretty bland-ish food (we're British and grew up poor so we were raised on bland food lol) but she can no longer stand to eat the food she used to love. Her daughter constantly says everything smells of smoke and absolutely nothing smells nice to her, and she can no longer stand the taste of any meat. Her son no longer likes chocolate & sweet things. Her husband didn't fuly lose his sense of taste or smell to begin with and although it took about 6 months they did both go back to normal. Their neighbour has lost all their sense of smell completely.
She also knows someone for whom everything now smells and tastes like sewage, they're having a really hard time because they've been struggling with eating anything much for almost 2 years, they've lost so much weight it's scary because even when they manage to eat the smell & taste makes them sick, so they've had to be hospitalised a few times on a nutrient drip because of it (it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't look at a more permanent feeding tube option eventually). I think I feel most sorry for people who are effected in that way, sure it can be dangerous to have no sense of smell because it can act as a warning if there's a smell of gas etc, but you _can_ live a normal life without it, sure you miss out on pleasant smells but you also get to not smell the bad stuff either, but when everything smells rotten or like sewage then it must be hard just getting through the day.
I have a degree in human physiology and as tough as it must be for so many people, the subject is also incredibly fascinating to me. We were theorising about how a virus might be able to temporarily and even permanently effect the senses. The echanisms of how I imagine that could work. However, I think what I find so interesting is that it effects everyone so differently, like no two people seem to be effected exactly the same way.
I'm sure there must be a lot of research going on now into the long term effects of covid not just long covid & major complications like respiratory and cardiac damage, but also things like the damage to taste & smell that seems to have been done, which seems such a small thing but is having a huge impact on people. I also get curious about how the long term effects compare with the other related SARS like/corona viruses, or if it's unique to covid, and even unique to specific variants of covid. I also wonder if large scale studies are even being done into the percentage of people who have had covid & experienced a permanent change, vs temporary changes or no changes at all.
There's a part of me wishes I was still in academia so I can be studying it and trying to find solutions for people (eg can there be a medication that fully blocks the sense of smell/taste for those who are experiencing the awful side of it, is there a way to restore normal function to taste/smell, or are they irreparably altered/damaged). But at the same time researchers must be so inundated with things they need to be focusing on more urgently (like the vaccine doesn't stay effective as long as we would hope, but considering natural immunity is almost nothing, it seems, that's not much of a surprise, I guess; and we could really do with a reliable treatment suitable for all, but especially for the most vulnerable etc), that I don't envy that at all.
I was just saying at supper that my taste is still off I had Covid like a year ago.
@@laurapotpie had it a year ago too, for me, my taste seems to go and come back. makes me conflicted about what foods and flavors i actually do enjoy! same goes for smells. used to be a big perfume person but now i forget to use it.
My taste is so different now I can’t drink pop or eat chocolate now the only thing I like is sour candy and I assume it’s because it’s strong and I can actually taste it!! And my sell hasn’t came back it’s been around 4-5 months!! And my left nostril is always clogged and runny drives me crazy

For as hard as he went on the reviewing girl, I think she deserves an actual apology. The review girl simply gave her experience of the product, so I Dont think she needs to “learn” or owes any apology. Many, many people shared her sentiments and that is a symptom of being a public figure with a product like that. Also the way Chef Pii went about addressing the situation made me not care about her anguish. I only hear what Markie has to say on this, and no one else. Feel better, sir!

That Pink Sauce woman Pii in not a formally trained chef. "Chef" is just a title she calls herself (yeah, that's allowed in the US). Since it is an arbitrary title she chose, I choose not to recognize it, finding to do so insulting to those who actually train and learn proper food safety. It is sad that she had no bad consequences from putting so many lives at risk.

Everything in the US is expensive right now. Inflation is out of control, but yea, sauces are generally expensive on any given day. Not stuff that has a generic label so much, but name brand is pricey. It’s like $7+ for a bottle of A1 steak sauce.

I’m still shocked at how Karamo handled this initially. He always seemed so nice on Queer Eye.
This might be an unpopular opinion, but I feel like Karamo's public apology was the best choice he made in this situation. Yes, Chef Pii apologized in private, and an apology like that is good. But Chef Pii and Karamo treated Alle horribly in a PUBLIC setting. There will be people who never keep up with social media drama who saw that last episode and assumed that Alle was majorly in the wrong. Apologizing on the actual show helps to clear Alle's name for those who saw her in a bad light because of the old episode. Of course, this also helps Karamo save face, but that doesn't change the fact that a public apology was for the best.

Yeah here the inflation on these products are shooting up. So not surprised it cost that much. Anything that's a popular brand gets way upcharged as well!

That is not normal in America, I don't think I've ever seen a sauce in Walmart that was that expensive, this is something I expect of a super premium organic sauce sold at H-E-B.

Sauces are pricey in the states, especially if you live in one of the states with a higher cost of living, like CA, NY, and WA. I live in Seattle and our grocery prices are going through the roof in general. Just like our housing costs, but I digress. For example a tamarind sauce that I purchased the other day was $12.99. That was a splurge for my sisters birthday dinner. She wants me to make her Indian food so I went ahead and got it when I normally wouldn’t. Luckily I love tamarind sauce.
My favorite was pulling out the Nando's sauce out of nowhere 😂

Omg me and my hubs band avoided Covid for the longest time and I’m a frontline nurse ! I was at home for 3 weeks this last month and I got Covid !! I thought I was never going to get better !!
I’ve only have Covid once, in December of last year and I thought I just had the flu. I tried going into work wearing a mask and needed up going home within the next 3 hours cause I was dying. That shit was no joke for me and I cried myself to sleep. The next day when I tested myself and found out I was positive, I cried again cause it made so much sense 😭😭😭😭 Glad you are feeling better Callum Markie 💕

My son likes a particular BBQ chipotle sauce here in Aus. It is priced at $4.5 regular price and I don’t buy it at full price. I wait til it is on special for $3 or less and buy several bottles 😂 No way I could eat this sauce and not taste a ‘pink lady’ (mylanta and lignocaine jelly that they give you in hospital for chest pain? Gastritis? Ect).
