I have a hard time imagining that this could end up leading to a legal battle. If Pii can't afford food and clothes for her children and needs to rely on her mother to give her $20 a day, there's no way she can scrounge up the funds to take Dave's Gourmet to court. Even if she did manage to get the funds (maybe her gaslighting friend Karamo can help her) it would all depend on what contract she signed. So if it went to court and it's found that Dave's Gourmet did nothing wrong according to the contract she signed, then she'd be doubly screwed over by the legal fees.
While I do feel badly that she's been put in this situation and that her children are suffering because of it, this is ultimately a hole she dug for herself.

Atozy suggested a theory and I think it's really probable. The contract that she signed has a clause that she won't get paid till a certain amount of units are sold and she hasn't reached that goal. If thats the case, and she read the contract and understand what it meant, I think she thought because it went viral, it would be easy. She went viral for her product, potentially being unsafe to eat, which throws people off from it, so in the end not as many units were sold. There's a chance she just didn't understand the contract as well. Sounds like she needed a lawyer way earlier.

She would just have used pity points to manipulate someone that already showed he doesn't look into things before acting. Would be great if could save that one for the actual psychological abuse that gaslighting is. Just saying.
Personally, I honestly don't buy her kids and her are that in a hole to need a GFM though. If she was, she's shown she didn't prioritize money management well enough, even for their sake. Certainly doesn't bode well for any funding being used on her kids.
That part alone says it all though- Pii doesn't do longterm thinking, she reacts in real time to every crisis (for lack of a better term). Atozy hit it on the head...I'm sure there was a minimum sales requirement before Chef Pi saw any form of payment.
Dave's Gourmet 100% financed the launch of the Pink Sauce in Walmart.
They paid for the food products needed.
They needed to fine tune the recipe to make sure it was a shelf stable product.
They paid for all the packaging.
    They made the Walmart deal.
I'm sure Dave's Gourmet needs to be reimbursed for all costs before there would be any profits to split.
Chef Pi did hardly any promotion of Pink Sauce once it hit Walmart, only a couple Tik Toks.
I'm sorry she didn't read the contract. I'm sorry if she can't feed her children.
But if she is a chef and financially supported her family before the Pink Sauce on a Chef's salary, why can't she now?

Joke is on Chef Pii though because it was literally just pink ranch. I tried it and was not impressed because I don't really like ranch dressing. I do use the powder to make other things with.
