    Couple points you missed:
The regular XPS uses Comet Lake, the 2 in 1 uses an more updated architecture in Ice Lake
The regular XPS has 3 USB C ports, the 2 in 1 only has 2
The regular XPS has a 16:9 screen, the 2 in 1 is 16:10

I have the previous 2 in 1 model, and I would argue that there are some trade-offs between the new and the old. The new one is clearly faster, offers better battery life and has a better webcam position. The old one is lighter, and I think that the hinges look better on it, not worse. Also, some people would prefer the taller display and others the shorter. If you don't need the extra power and you don't use the webcam much, I would still recommend it to buyers if you can get it for a discount price.

I could never understand the appeal of 2 in 1s. You’re getting an inferior tablet and an inferior laptop all in one. I feel like it makes more sense to just own a dedicated laptop and a dedicated tablet imo.

1:13 pc makers: oh god its so harrrd, we cant put 20 more pixels in this thing to get at least 1080p, otherwise the bezel would be twice as big! and we deserve big applause for only making it like 2cm thick with a useless camera!
phone makers: here, a 4k60fps 32mpx camera with a depth sensor and IR camera next to it on a 2mm notch
then we have the badass users: I dOnT nEeD a CaMeRa oN tHiS cUz iT sUcKKKss = pcmakers; oh, users dont care, so we wont either! profit!
