    XPS 13 is good but Dell should consider re-engineering the cooling system & fan slots. The slots at the bottom makes it difficult to use it on your lap for long time plus the laptop quickly heats & I can literally hear the fans running to its maximum capacity. Hope the 2020 model is better.

    Testing the power or thermal on Windows laptop is very very tricky, there are both Intel and Windows and Dell driver that can limit either temp or power to the CPU. Just try using Intel XTU first but as far as I am concerned, There is thermal management build in Windows 10 driver which will control the power during very long load (more than 5 min). And it won’t care any other variable, it just limit the juice to CPU like the result on the 2in1

Dell 2in1 is great but some may find pricey, also keyboard is very shallow but works. Have a look at HP or even surface devices. My previous device was a Blade stealth although touchscreen it is just a laptop. I was jealous when my colleagues could just start writing changes on screen to process flows and powerpoint while in a slideshow on Skype for business. Also you find it more comfortable to read docs, pdf etc in tablet mode instead of landscape laptop. Hope this helps!

You might say just use bootcamp or something, but I hate having to restart. I'm not really a fan of the whole thing where Dell's xps models don't have even a single USB A port,much less the HDMI port. But it seems like the performance of Macs is always better than other standard laptops, even if there's tiny changes. I guess one downside of Macs is that they aren't meant for gaming.

    Great comparison, but you do realize that with a 2&1 there are more than just two positions one might find useful right? Clamshell and tablet are 2 of the 4. I use tent mode when reading or watching videos which is perfect at a coffee house as it takes up less space without the distraction of the keyboard as you eat and/ or drink coffee. Also, with the keyboard down but the screen facing toward you is perfect for laying in bed or on a couch using the touch pad or watching streaming, again, because the screen is closer without the distraction of the keyboard. I think you'd be surprised how many people buy a 2&1 for that flexibility. I mean, even one time on a plane my meal was delivered, there was no place for my 2&1, but a strap in the seat in front of me allowed me to hang it from that strap in tent mode and watch a move while I ate. Really hoping the 2020 2&1 improves a bit more from the 2019.

      @@andyH_England completely disagree the comment "most of us". Please speak for yourself only. Noone is saying a clamshell isn't practical for many. It's great to have options. Finally there is a huge market for touch screens on both 2&1s and Clamshell. The fact that for you personally it isn't useful is irrelevant to those like me who find it very useful.

    • @Belgarath777
      @Belgarath777 Před 4 lety

      @@andyH_England I agree that perhaps they aren't revolutionary as that is a strong word, but yes, and again, I can only speak for myself, I'd pay the small premium for that versatility, as long as the total weight of the device is under 3 pounds as that still allows it to be ultraportable, not as ultraportable as an iPad without a case, but still ultraportable. I go back and forth depending on how I'm sitting using the track pad and the touch screen. The reason I like a touch screen isn't so much to use the device flat as a tablet, but for precision. It's just faster at times to use it, or depending on the position of the device it's just more practical to touch the screen. Now if this was a gaming laptop, I'd be the first to raise my hand and say I don't need a touch screen or a 2&1. Anyway, good discussion.

    Assuming, that you did record the sound with the camera, the speaker sound test is....quite unfair.
    The XPS13 9300 is the one more close to the mic. - Also while the left speaker of the 2in1 is blocked and dampened by the 9300, the left speaker of the 9300 is not!
    So - the speakers of the 9300 must sound better. - even my laptop from 2012 will sound better if the competitors speaker facing the mic is blocked :D
    Overall great video and good content!
    But maybe keep this in mind for the next sound comparison ;)

      Thanks for the input. I actually listen to them separately multiple times after recording the part you see and I make sure I’m centered when I record. I also use my Apple Watch to check the DB differences and if they are close to each other (as they are) both have a speaker that is close the other laptop. I didn’t show or explain that in this video but I have in previous ones.

      Depends on if you are actually willing to live on the iPadOS operating system.

    • @Mamo878

      Holy cow dude, they are completely different animals. It all depends what you are trying to do with software. Buy hardware depending on what software you use.
      And remember, iPadOS will often use mobile versions of software and not the full-fat versions you may be used to with a desktop or laptop.

    You forgot to look at the one really useful function of the 2-in-1 that the laptop can't do: pen input.

    • @Mamo878
      @Mamo878 Před 4 lety +2

      Indeed. That actually could be considered the main difference for a 2-in-1. You can hand write notes, etc. instead of typing, if that's your thing. And, of course, you can draw, paint, photo edit, etc.

    • @MaxTechOfficial
      @MaxTechOfficial  Před 4 lety

      Personally I would get the 4K because the screen looks fantastic but I’m used to high res displays (5K and 6K). The downside is battery life though so if you need to get more than 5-6 hours unplugged get the 1080P.

    • @goJesusandStarcraft
      @goJesusandStarcraft Před 4 lety +1

      My opinion is get the 1080p for better battery life and put the saved money towards an external monitor for productivity work. Personally, 1080p already looks small on a ~13” display size so 4K would be way too tiny without scaling everything up to 200%

      I got the 2 in 1 xps 13 with 4k screen. It looks fantastic, probably the best (notebook) screen i have used yet. Batter life is quite a bit shorter tho, when doing light work like office stuff or browsing the web, i get around 6h of battery life. That is enough for me.

    the reason the single cores and multi-cores were different is because they're both using different versions of the 10th gen. 2 in 1 is 14nm. No, it doesn't have to do with the memory lol
