God no. I can promise you that if this was an Apple product and they weren't sponsored to review this product they would be tearing it apart rightfully so. Who in their right mind would buy a 2 in 1 laptop where it's no good at either device it's trying to be, especially for that price. Do not and I repeat do not buy this laptop for school. Don't use your own money to buy this laptop, this is 100% meant for businesses (that usually get products for their entire company free of cost). The price does not justify its specs what's so ever. you'd be paying about 1.5-2x more than any other laptop with the same specs. The pros of this laptop do not justify its price what's so ever. All in all, a great notebook to own, especially the latitude line from dell are the only lines they have with a new design and specs. If you are planning to go for gaming, the XPS and or the alienware options by them them will be a more suitable choice. As for the power supply, nowadays most companies are equipped with a secondary monitor that are USB C power delivery and display out capabilities that can be directly plug into any one of the USB C on the 9440 and have it charged, not even needing for a power brick (unless of course if you are not in this situation)

the video recorded using non studio microphones and that audio frequency range still conveyed with the latitude. i can feel the bass. by the way, i think gaming laptop should all comes in 16:10 screen ratio. because the verticality space is what gaming needed. i dont think many people even notice that. all this time people use multi monitor with view range only widen to the side, they are actually having semi tunnel vision. you know like seeing through a long rectangular hole where you dont get fair enough vertical span, while our pair of eye balls have big vertical view angle range.

As a developer, I've just stopped looking at battery life altogether, the tools and all will basically always push the machine to it's limits anyway and once battery save kicks in (or it even clocks down on battery) everything gets unusable anyways, so there's no point to ever use it not plugged in for long.

I thought about picking this one up, but that price is too high for a U series processor. I wish more companies would make a 2 in 1 with an H series processor. This one is designed for someone who walks around with a laptop regularly. The main adavantage of the U processor is the battery life, but it doesn't do so well in that respect either. Still a cool laptop.

I'll never understand why even ASUS doesnt seem to care about the Zenbook 14 ryzen lineup. How hard is it to just give us Zen 3+/4 APUs instead of outdated Zen 3? Currently imo the Zenbook 14 is the best 'laptop' laptop: fast enough RAM, modular WiFi & storage, huge 75Wh battery, and a great OLED panel. Even with Zen 3, it's leagues ahead of other laptops that were spec'd out by 7 year olds

    • @arsalanafroz
      @arsalanafroz Před 8 měsíci +1

I love the 2 in 1 form factor, but I value the modularity and reparability of Frameworks laptops more. (Framework plz make a 2 in 1 chassis for the FW13!) This new Latitude is almost twice the price of my old XPS, that part is a bit unfortunate.

I got a Dell latitude E6420 in 2012 at launch.. I only retired it December 2021 for an M1 MacBook Air. It was plagued by the heat pipe/fan combo. Fan fried itself two years in and replacements only had a single copper tube so that core i7 always overheated. By the end.. it was time for a new heat pipe and taking it apart. Nope..
Went to Best Buy and got a base Air (I love it and use constantly still) and sold the E6420 to some mechanic dude for $40 haha. I had upgraded it to a Samsung 256 SSD and had a Tp-Link wifi dongle and Dell laser mouse and case with it. so he definitely got a good deal even though he was gonna have to invest some time and an additional $50 or so into it.
I still can't believe how long it lasted.. for a year it was how me and my girlfriend watched Netflix in our first place, so I held it dear lol. Got me through some good and bad times..
The screen and speakers were awful though, downright terrible in fact. I never got over that.

I really like this laptop overall. At that price they seem to be competing with other business laptops very well, yet the price also pulls them into comparison with something like the Macbook Pro 14 (M1 or M2). The Mac is more of a creative machine but can manage business software and much more quite well, so even if you up the RAM and SSD (from the base $1999 price) you are looking at a similar price and the Macbook Pro 14 just kills this thing in efficiency, battery life, cooling and power draw, and it compares well in speed and in some cases would be faster. However, most PC laptops users will see the Mac as a creative arts machine and mostly look at other Windows business laptops. In that sense this Dell is really good, but 7.5 hours of battery life is rough. Between the 3 he showed here I would go with the Dragon Fly. I also agree with others that I would rather have an AMD version. For larger businesses the cost will not be a big issue, but for smaller businesses and others the cost here will be an issue.

Yeah a Macbook Pro 14 M1 can be had here in Europe for about 1950 euro, M2 Pro for 300-400 more, the 9440 starts at 2800€😮 (all incl VAT). Arguably a better screen, speakers and battery life. Equally good performance and keyboard. Better trackpad, but no touch. Never thought I would say a Mac would be a better value (or at least, fair), not even considering residual values.

Keyboard: I *HATE* the "chicklet" Apple-style keyboard with huge gaps between the keys and most PC manufacturers have been going in that direction for worse than 10 years. I would love to see more laptops moving away from this.

For people planning on buying, here are some caveats I encountered -
    1. It is quite heavy though it is very rigid
    2. Touchpad is simply horrible. Will register a click when you're just moving your mouse around which gets annoying. If you want to click and drag something by holding down the left click, it will unclick it midway when you move your finger. This doesn't change by changing the touch sensitivity
    3. Keyboard: Hard to get used to due to lack of space between keys and keys themselves are sort of mushy. Not horrible but at around $2-2.5k, you'd expect better
Maybe just the unit I tried but again - at that price, your quality control needs to be good.
I think most people will be able to find better alternatives!
