For anyone wondering about the bump in the graph, I think that's just down to a typo or something. Also something I think would be intersting to try is giving a weak faction (such as boarder princes) 2 million gold and late game you won't have to fight skaven or anyone else down there
That's the cool, thing about having infinite gold, it opens doors! You can probably do all sorts of crazy shit.
@@MercytheMad There is a similar glitch with chaos and vassalisation - you can get 1 million gold easily - but it takes up to 1 hour to pull it of by clicking... clicking ... did I say more clicking? Did it once - it buffs my start as chaos - but man... the effort put is really not worth it.
Bump in the graph could be other earning sources, sacked an important city or something on the mainland

The math on the chart actually seems to check out, I doubt you made a typo; looks more like the AI maybe paid 52,425 for a peace treaty with another faction or something on turn 22. Anyway, great exploit & great vid, well done:)

Actually this is like BANKS ... because - at least here in the EU - banks can LEND 10-times the amount of savings people gave them, so basically they are CREATING MONEY THAT DIDNT EXIST BEFORE when they write "we lent €100.000 to Skipper and he has to pay it back".

I am in awe of the brilliance that went into unearthing this exploit. In retrospect, all strats seem obvious and logical. But there are so many stepping stones in the chain of actions that require both genius and a great deal of time and effort. I'll just highlight two steps that stand out to me the most:
1) Figuring out how to prevent them from spending their money.
2) Figuring out the way to give them money while remaining at war with them.

while at that point its kinda pointless i think you could make it more efficient by doing this to a faction which only owns a gate settlement as you cant recruit armies from there and all the money they spend are used to make it more secure which in turn means that it also helps to keep those pesky dark elves away while you are using that same place for influence farming and to use that army somewhere where its actually useful

Thingymbob said that in his tests they don't recuirt nerw lords for you to indoctrinate if they only own a gate, BUT you could get your 5 Indoctrinated lords whilst they have 2 settlements, THEN occupy their other settlement and just leave the gate. that should work.
Although starting a few turns later (that it would take to get to Allarielle or Ellyrion) will cost you millions of gold (or a few turns) .

July 23, 2022 - I just tested it. It works. Only problem is that it isn't displayed in your projected income tab so I had to test 3 alternative turns - one where I didn't spend any money, one where I gave all my money to a random faction that I didn't indoctrinate and one where I gave my money to a faction I did indoctrinate.
Thanks for watching and testing. Yeah you can also see it in real time if you just watch your income at end turn...it will show your bae income for a second then update a second later with all the indoctrinate income.

MercytheMad my plan was to sack / raze skaven (6 settlements) to get caledor and abandon start so Capital is moved to ulthuan for trade. Then retake imriks start / dragon isles and hopefully confed other HE... capital always moves back if you take original capital again 👎🏻👎🏻

The money thing is quite good for setting up crazy campaigns, 1 city challenges or passivist campaigns and other weirdness you couldn't normally do.
Theoretically any faction of your race will confederate no matter your strength or relationship, IF you have enough money. With a billion gold you can test that theory :P

i think ive found a surefire way to get 6 lords from saphery.
Haerrieth is their faction ruler so she is immortal. Indoctrinate then wound her and then do the normal 5 lord method.

But even if they patch the diplomacy bug, and they change the way the treasure stacks I bet it will still be super exploitable. The whole mechanic is just super powerful.
@@MercytheMad the easiest fix would be to make the 5% not stackable, but that would "only" slow down the whole exploit.
@@Balut3 The proper fix would be to make Indoctrinate reduce the treasury of the AI like you would expect from the description, that way we can use the system to damage their faction

I have some question raised for Tor Yvresse: if say, when i play Eltharion's Mortal Empire i usually plan to retreat back to Ulthuan to aim for the confederation of Ulthuan's Legendary Lords ('cause i have the mind of the tabletop's collector), however, if i indoctrinate Orks of Top Knotz, according to your exploit, i shall have their treasury. However however, if they are confederated by Grom, will they stay indoctrinated or they got wiped off?
I'm not 100% sure on that, I was told you lose the indoctrinate if they get confederated by another faction but I have not confirmed it myself.
If YOU confederate the indoctrinated faction (ie another high elf race) apparently you DO keep the indoctrinate income though.

Which is the best way to force the IA faction to spawn more lords? I can only take 1-3 of them, after they spawn only those ones
You need to put a solo caster lord near their final settlement, then have your full stack nearby in ambush.
when they attack over the end turn capture their Lord and they will always replace with a new unique Lord.
Don;t attack the new Lord, just reset yuour ambush and let them attack you again over the end turn. Capture and they wil replace with unique lord again. Rinse and repeat.
Tricky to set up but it works.
So in other words 4 turns and you get all your money back.
@General Harness, Sort of, except it grows exponentially.
In 4 turns you get more than your money back. In a few turns you are getting double your money back PER TURN, a few turns later you are getting 20K per turn, a few turns later you are getting 200K per turn etc etc, then Millions, then hundreds of millions...The income increases slowly at first then rapidly goes absolutely ballistic. You will very rapidly reach the maximum money cap.
it works. diplomacy i propose peace, propose military access, gift money, then delete the peace treaty and give the gift. making sure to always have enough money for my upkeep or ill take massive loss of army health

@MercytheMad I tried it on the Vortex Map and it didn't seem to work for me, no matter how much money I gave them, there was only my own income coming through every round. Is this exploit only working on ME? I declared war on Ellyrion, indoctrinated 5 lords and have their final settlement under lockdown (but I think I indoctrinated the faction leader first, so maybe this is the problem?)
Hi Lars, not sure. Shouldn't matter what order you do it in. Not the income frrom indoctrinate does NOT show up anythere in your Economy tab...at the start of the turn your normal income will pop up (wat you would expect form the economy tab) and then the indoctrinate money will load half a second later. So you should see it if you watch closely at the start of the turn.
Didn't work for me neither on Vortex. Tried with Saphery and Arachnos - no additional money coming in...
Wouldn't this be even better if you left one of the gates as their last settlement? Then you can do this AND sack the gate every turn + influence farm with nobles.
Once you sack the city you cannot encircle it in the same turn again, if someone else are at war with them, the AI will occupy their last settlement and there goes your money.
@@ytban007 That's why you do it when you are the last elf on Ulthuan Or you defend it from other factions. I have had games where I let Ellyrion have the eagle gate and sacked it for the next 150 turns. Nobody has ever taken it in those 150 turns.

And yeah, the AI doesn't recruit lords (and can't recruit heroes) at the gates, thus they will not spent the money :) And you get a sack city and influence farm on top of it. Yes, it takes a few more turns (though not necessarily) to get going, but I think it would be worth it in the long run.

I'm not sure if I'm doing it right? I destroyed orcs on Ulthuan, and declared on Saphery. I indoctrinated five different lords and besiged last settlement to keep them in lockdown and in my inital peace treaty offer at turn 24 I had 30k and gave them that. Now it is turn 42 and I get 13500 per a turn from them but it is not a skyrocketing profit. I invested around 170000k so far and it is on very hard difficulty.
Edit: It's ok, I guess. For some reason I needed to indoctrinate few more lords, maybe previous bonuses didn't add up because I didn't build interrogation chamber. At turn 64 200k + per a turn.
Hey Imrik yeah it's exponential. (like the Coronavirus). So it grows a little bit , a little bit, a little bit more, more, a lot, then HOLY F$%K! (it gets faster at a faster rate) . You got started a bit slow by the sounds of it but give it another 20 turns or something and you will be making millions.
strange it doesnt show on the income per turn number. Can you see the money you are gonna receive somewhere else in the UI ?
No you can't see it anywhere in the UI I don't think, but at the start of the turn - at first you will have your normal income, then half a second later you will see the indoctrinate income load in. Happens right at the very first moment of each turn.

Been trying to do this bug but I can't seem to get enough lords indoctrinated. I fight a battle, capture the lord, and indoctrinate them but they come back the next turn. I've only been able to indoctrinate 3 lords every time I've attempted this.
If you don't kill the army in the battle (let it retreat they are more likely to recruit a new unique lord instead of the one you just indoctrinated. Also if you let them recruit a second army.
Also the faction leader is immortal, so Execute them the first time and you have 5 turns before they can come back (so they have t recruit others).
also, you can keep 2 lords captured in your prison to force them to recruit different ones.
When ever i do this. The enemy i give money to join another faction. How do i avoid this?
The Top Knots are a separate race from the other greenskins so they cannot be confederated and are pretty safe.
If you plan to do the infinite money on an Elven Faction, you need to Eliminate Tyrion asap, or weaken him so much that he cannot confed them. I usually do it to Tyrion first, then confed Tyrion and do the infinite Money trick again on Saphery or Ellyria. Have never lost any of them.

Has this exploit been nerfed? I tried it out and by around turn 90 i dropped from getting 80k to getting -800 gold. Any clue as to why?
Exploit still works. Would be hard to guess what is going on without seeing your game. Did you wipe out the faction that you were using for the infinite money? Or kill the indoctrinated lords?
Brilliant! However I do have some questions.
First, I did the same thing to the Sephary but only indoctrinating one lord. So that means only 5% which is fine. However, I see in the video you are receiving the whole sum (invested lets say) + the 25% or am I wrong? In my case, I only received the 5% which means that I have to wait couple of turns to accumulate and then invest again, earn bigger and so on.
Also...how da fack you have 500k on turn 30 ?? :D: D

Yeah you only get 5% back. But then you give that 5% to them and the power of exponential growth happens. I'll illustrate with numbers. You have 100. They have 0 and no income. You get 5% due to one indoctrinated lord. You give them 100. End of turn 1.
Turn 2. You get 5. And give them 5. So they have 105. You have 0 like at the end of 1. End of 2.
Turn 3. You get 5.25. You give them 5.25. They have 110.25. Let's skip forward to turn 10. You can just follow along if you are not convinced.
Turn 10 You get 7.387. Give them that they have 155.132. Skip to 20.
Turn 20 You get 12. Giving it to them ends at 252.
Even with a modest 5% per turn you are quickly growing out of control. Now Imagine 25%. Just three turns will double your "capital" Which is what they have which in turn will double what you get since you get a percentage. Add to this the flat 2500 they are getting every turn(Might be more depending on difficulty). Here are the numbers for 10 turns at 25%. Using all the same numbers otherwise. 931 Money for them. You earned 86 this turn.
@@ruukinen Absolutely agree! However, it seems that (using your example) the guy is receiving 105 on turn 2 and not just 5. Which makes no sense. When you put funds in your account you receive dividend only in this case and not the X-amount invested plus the dividend. I think this is what the mechanic is meant to be. Perhaps in this case the elves have large sum of money to begin with (before your investment) - which follows up to my second question. How are such astronomical sums of money made so early in the game?
@@mihaildechev3892 He has 100. You gave 100 on turn 1. So the result is 105. You make astronomical amounts of money since you double your capital every 3 or so turns with 25%. Just take the calculator out. Type in 100 for 100% and then multiply it a few times with 1.25 to simulate you earning 25% and then gifting it back to them. At the end of my last comment you'll see your capital will be at 932% total. That means you'll be making 233% of your initial investment every turn from then onward. Assuming you stop investing.
Starting with 5% makes it grow a lot slower but the end result is the same since it compounds. You just need a few more turns.
Hi Mihail, thats correct you only get the 5% (for each indoctrinated lord) NOT the whole amount, but that 5% becomes more than the starting total very fast and it gets faster and faster. I would recommend you start again and make sure you get AT LEAST 5 lords indoctrinated it will get the ball rolling much faster.
@@MercytheMad Well the amount of indoctrinated lords from a faction is vital I guess. It is truly interesting though how the player managed to amass 500k to begin with. I assume it is the same way, however I believe it took lots of tries for this to be 'video-ready' ? I mean, you really have to mooch rich factions and balance the other elves from killing you or your donor. Also you start in the badlands as well which is volatile place as a whole. It is really bedazzling for me :)

I tried this with the Scourge of Khaine faction but they just got confederated by Morathi before I even got to 20k per turn. I'll try again with Saphery, is there any way to prevent them from being confederated? Seems like beating them down to a single settlement without an army would always make them a juicy target to be confederated
I usually do saphery. If you Bash confed Tyrion early (see video called "Beat Tyrion into Confederation) then confed all of the other High Elves one after another you should be safe.
@@MercytheMad I started a new game and went with Top Knotz, got great results since this allows you to get going right away, and they can't get confederated. Turn 60 now and got all High Elves confederated and about 500k coming in each turn now

Should work on any faction. Not sure why they won't give you money back. Maybe the Lord you indoctrinated got killed?

Would this be a less or more egregious exploit than the Backspace HALT! exploit they fixed in the previous big update?
Backspace is worse for sure IMO. I think there is still a , lot of fun to be had playing the game and experimenting with things you can do with infinite money. with backspace the enemies literally can't move at all. They cannot attack.
This exploit basically removes the economy aspect of the game.
The backspace exploit removes the AI players from the game and makes all AI completely passive and just wait for you to kill them.
This one is also pretty disgusting though :P
If you inductricate a lord, then they re spawn and you kill them with that mess up the inductrication or no?
Yeah, if you kill them you lose the income from that Lord.

I think there is a cap on gold the AI will give you in one deal (10K for strong economy factions)

Wouldn't be simpler to have leave a faction with only Gate (Tyranoc or Ellirion own gates at the start) and peace with the faction? If they own a gate they can't spend money

I think it has slightly changed recently, I need to reinvestigate this properly sometime, but...
Yes - having them only own a gate works well, BUT you need to have already indoctrinated enough lords before you reduce them to just the gate as you can never get any more Lords from the gate.
Plus you need forces nearby so that you can re-siege them in their Gate to protect them if an enemy comes near.
Basically the advantage of doing it in a gate is you save the upkeep cost for the army + you get slightly more income by being able to settle the minor settlement yourself...but if you do it right you have infinite money so neither of these things matter at all.
tl;dr the gate is fine to use, but it makes it a bit more awkward to set up not really any easier.
So its basically like our modern day banks ... who can "CREATE MONEY FROM NOTHING" just by lending people "virtual" money (which did not exist before and which they did not have themselves either) ... which they then can come around and collect "for real". At least here in EUrope the bank can lend 10-times more than the money which people have given them for safekeeping.
Enslave a whole nation and take 25% of their GDP, yeah sounds like the World Bank :P
For people wondering this is actually true, if you lend money from a bank it appears out of nowhere and when you pay it back it gets deleted. Like no joke you rent 50K they just make 50K appear and once you paid it back they delete it. Like wtf also they don't have all the money they have recieved from there clients in stock as they make money from using it. But they keep so little in reserve for a company that well is gambling with investments. And when they loose and the banks crash everybody looses there money and well there literally is no way for the banks to recompensate but it's an actual disaster so the state has to come in. And try to help but well the size of debt is ofcourse gigantic.
So yeah the whole system with our economy based on never ending gorwth is kinda bound to hit a wall, again. And well it kinda has to crash from time to time so yeah not good. Even in a game like this where virtual money coming out of nowhere doesn't seem like such a big problem it can probably crash the game. Once the bubble gets to big and it overflows or atleast reset the number to 0, loosing all your progress.

it doesn't seem that you can ask for a military alliance with someone you're at war with anymore, did they patch it?
I was just doing it on stream and I was able to choose military alliance even though I was at war. Not sure why it doesn't show up sometimes. You don't have to ask for a military alliance, you can ask for anything, NPA, trade, military access.

It varies wildly, I have offered him 5 million on turn 50 and he turns it down. but if you recruit, use influence and give him gifts you can get it done for around 100K

he just turned down 6.6M at 300 relations, but i think that might be because too many gifts so he doesnt care for my cash

On turn 55 he accepted for 100K but I didn't bother seeing if he would take less
How do you get the AI to recruit new lords? They just keep recruiting the ones I've already indoctrinated.
Hmm, I'm not sure in this, you may need to get them to have already recruited them before you start. Another thing you can try is to Execute the faction leader (who is immortal) then you have 5 turns where they will have to recruit at least one other lord. You can also try breaking the siege for a turn, sometimes the Lord will make a run for ait and they will recruit another lord.
I think you just have to screw around with them and try to get more indoctrinated over time, not really sure if there is a guaranteed way to make more spawn.
@thingy mbob may have a better answer for you, he has played around with this a lot more than me.
@@MercytheMad Something I noticed is that if you do not wipe a army the AI seems to replace it with a new lord, got 8 off the greenskins on ulthwan before the other elves got armys near the settlement.
So your saying if I wipe out their army and indoctrinate (not kill) the lord, they will recruit a new army with that same Lord again - however if I fight a field battle and Indoctrinate the lord but allow the army to retreat and not follow up....then they recruit a different Lord (not the indroctinated one) next turn?
Is this 100% works every time? How many times have you witnessed this behaviour?

@@MercytheMad I got 7 lords from the greenskins on ulthwan and did not see any of the lords I had already captured.
It happened in two playthough for the same faction, will try it against lothern next time.

Was the diplomacy bug patched? Because military alliance isn’t available in diplomacy…
Nah I don't think so. You can choose anything, defensive alliance , NAP, trade , whatever. Just choose Peace, then Whatever, then offer money. Then cancel Peace. The peace and 'Whatever' else you chose will disappear and the money will remain.

wouldn't it be easier with a faction controlling only a gate because you wouldn't have to park an army to do nothing?
Hey Mark! Yes, good thinking! If you can finish off on a gate then it's nice, but the gate wont summon lords for you to indoctrinate so you want to fight a few battles elsewhere first to get as many indoctrinations as possible.
Bear in mind, upkeep cost is irrelevant when you have infinite money though, so having an extra army parked there is no big deal.
@@MercytheMad Yeah park an army to do nothing doesn't really matter when you can almost fill the entire map with armies :D. Only almost since I feel the supply lines, which is also exponential, will at some point require more money than an int32 can store and I'm pretty sure they wouldn't use int64 for your treasury.

Yes I believe so. My last live stream of Eltharion includes the latest technology on this one (but it's a stream so unless you have time to let it run while you are playing that may not be useful.
Pretty sure we talk sporadically about the infinite money thing but the last episode I think focused a lot on optimal set up (spawning unique enemy Lords to capture using a bait Lord and ambush army)

Hmm not sure how that would happen, maybe go back to a previous save if you are not on Legendary.
If you have gotten the income up high enough already you can just peace out and keep giving them the money without being at war with them. If it is 80K + they will not be able to spend it fast enough and the exploit will still work.
@@MercytheMad started a fresh campaign and couldn't offer military alliance to anyone if I'm at war with them. Could you start a fresh campaign and see if it still works?
@@abdulazizamod4788 Currently experiencing the same problem. None of the Alliance options are present when trying to offer the Peace Treaty.
@@raven8585 I started another fresh campaign and it seems the exploit still works even with mith military access. So offer peace, offer them the money, offer military access, then cancel the PEACE request. Only way it works.

@rev Yes that's right, but you should be able to confederate all of the HE lords yourself before anyone else gets chance.

As far as I know it still does, although minor factions don't seem to spawn as many lords now so its hard to get 5 or 6 indoctrinated.
I'd recommend doing it to a large faction qith lots of armies on the field. So you can be sure to indoctrinate lots of lords, then blitz them down to their last settlement

I don't think so...but they changed the behaviour of the AI spawning new lords somehow, t's a bit harder to get small factions to spawn heaps of lords for you to confederate now.
I think if you get a large faction (like Malekith) with heaps of lords, and then you indoctrinate them all, before reducing him to a single siege locked province then it should still work the same I think.

@James Moore Heya. I don't really like using mods, just personal preference I guess. It's generally harder to get most exploits working (including this one) but that makes it more satisfying IMO.
