      So glad it helped. Yeah, heroes are a big part of the game. Essentially all the factions to some degree use them to either multiply their civic effects or help out the armies. Aiming to get T4 buildings that boost your hero cap in each province will do great things for your empire :)

    I really think the lore of metal is one of the most powerful lores in the game. The problem is no one wants to take the time to really use them and experiment with them. With that being said, though I do think they are the most powerful I also think they are the hardest to play.

    • @ElvenPlotArmour
      @ElvenPlotArmour  Před 2 lety +8

      Lore of Metal is definitely an overlooked Lore, I agree. It's particularly fun for Warriors of Chaos. For the HE it's more of a case of not being able to justify the immense benefits that come with Life (Loremasters), Fire (Dragon Mage) and Light (Net for Sisters of Avelorn). It's also a case of the enemies HE face, the Lores that syngergize with their armies are also very effective against the enemies they face which again makes it more difficult to steers away. I love many Lores, Heavens included, but when the chips are down in a legendary campaign I find myself hard to steer from Fire and Light in the context of their campaigns. Cheers for sharing and supporting the channel mate!

      @@ElvenPlotArmour Anytime dude! Love your content! I have to disagree though, lets look at the dark elves versus the rust spell as an example. The rust spell reduces -30 of armor, thats all the armor of the base sword and spear units, half that of the twin sword units and almost a third for the great sword units

    When i found an Emollient trait Noble available , i woulnt hesistate to delete my current lvl 10 lvl Noble to make space to recruit the new emoilent Noble. The trait just so precious on higher diffculties.
    Frugal Nobles are somewhat rare, the rarest to spawn i think or my luck really that bad lol.
    Yeah, i agree to use the Loremaster as healer instead of lifemage... lvl 3 earth blood can just as superior as regrowth. It may even be better than regrowth due to healing several heroes simultaneously.
    Handmaiden is quite.... obsolute for mme due to need lvl 4 building. I mean by the time my capital reach lvl 4, my other province alrdy lvl 3 with comandements alone. But i still use handmaiden if got the right trait, just rarely use them as pop booster.
    I dunno wheter you alrdy know it Ryder, but u can buff your own unit by clicking on their unit card. For example several dragons are fighting and you want to heal the dying one just select your spell and click on the dying dragon unit card. It can be helpful in chaotic fight.
    thnks for the tips as always!
    btw did i spell your nickname correct, is it "Ryder" ? just pain to tipe high elves armour each time to adress you lol

      Thanks for taking the time to share your incite. Every bit helps as I want to present guides representative of all play styles and not purely opinion pieces, so cheers!
      As a general rule, I do agree with you in replacing experienced nobles with ones with better traits. This is more of a case of 'when' to do it as your noble might be needed elsewhere. Emollient, Conscientious and Frugal never get disbanded under my watch and once you're comfortable, I avoid Immortality on Nobles without these traits, as there will come a point where that lvl 40 guy is now ironically in the way of progress.
      Earthblood needs to be applied to multiple units to surpass Regrowth, but with a group huddle at the end this will always be the case, so I believe you are correct. Regarding unit protraits, I do typically use spells this way, but I try to make animations demonstrate in a way that's not too quick or confronting to newer players as my primary goal with videos is concise but value packed guides in an accessible format
      Handmaidens, from my research, seem to create the most division between players as to how they are used. For they are a go-to on the battlefield, others they are just growth assist. I use both but power in this came can be connected to the number of heroes at your disposal so more Tier 4 Settlements is king.
      Cheers again, and yes, you spelt it right :)

    12:50 No. Not when _enemies_ are within 70m, when _the archers_ are within 70m of the handmaiden. So they can send bolts of armor-piercing regard downrange even faster.
    Doesn't matter anyway, pick the Entangle.

    • @ElvenPlotArmour
      @ElvenPlotArmour  Před 2 lety +2

      I'm also partial towards Entangle, just making the script inclusive to all playstyles as some players prefer passive buffs over triggered abilities, though I completely agree Entangle is worth remembering ;) Cheers for your input!

    Is the “don’t put nobles on an eagle mount” still advisable (in WH3 IE) ? I can’t seem to find anything to indicate that it would be worse than on foot ? All I see are + to stats and virtually no down side.

    • @ElvenPlotArmour
      @ElvenPlotArmour  Před rokem +1

      Really great question mate! The eagle is certainly not a bad unit, but the Noble on foot fills an early game role that nothing else really does. The biggest change is Martial Prowess now stopping at 25% gives your lineholders WAY more legs so there is less dependence on the noble. If you have 2 Nobles, now I'd quite possibly put one on the Eagle, but it depends on the matchup. Against the Empire/Dawi? All eagles! Against Greenskins or an army with viscous infantry, Nobles on foot are smaller and will last far longer (not being hit as much). Elves are fine as long as nothing gets into their archer lines. If your spears can comfortably do this, then mount your nobles. If a foot noble can help slow the enemy and blob them (arrow practice) then this can be invaluable!

    I do use handmaidens if I get a good trait for them in armies, I notice entangle gives a 20% weakness to fire, does this stack with kindle flame and also imriks 20% debuff fireweakness ability? Anyway thats a whopping 60% I do have an entangle using handmaiden who has incindary trait in his army with a fire mage, and the dps is really really good not sure if the debuffs all stack though. I wish the handmaiden could get a chariot or a eagle like nobles but would that be too powerful considering they can get incendary as a trait? Anyway with the right items, that give melee attack and damage they hit like a truck and are pretty good at sniping single entities and also get anti large........ She also helps the other characters if she has entangle because she get guardian with that, so if they are in melee within 40 meters of her they get 15% physical resist, I often charge her into the back of whatever is fighting the nobles sometimes and both together can put in some work vs large enemies. I guess she sort of is the only Anti Large Cav I have as I do not mount the nobles. Just wish she had a chariot or eagle......:P

    • @ElvenPlotArmour
      @ElvenPlotArmour  Před 2 lety +2

      Handmaidens' best trait in an army is Resistant which bolsters the defense of the entire army and will net you more than making a Ranged Hero playing around in melee :) Incendiary can deal some hurt but Entangle is her true value. Sisters of Avelorn arrows are fire, so that fire debuff (which does stack) makes the best H.E. unit even stronger. Oddly I actually enjoy having her on horse for a bit of fun as a skirmisher but she's fine on foot. On the battlefield they are a very good buff/support hero, and off the battlefield utilise their stimulate growth with Entrepreneur or Fecund to power grow your empire.

    How does nobles' trade resources bonus work?

    • @ElvenPlotArmour
      @ElvenPlotArmour  Před 2 lety +2

      It increases the amount of a resource your faction produces. Always build the "resource" buildings in any settlement that has one (you'll see a unique icon next to the settlement name), these also unlock H.E. Research.
      Your trade partners will buy your resources. In the diplomacy screen down the bottom, hover over and you'll see the % being exported. If this is 100% then you'll benefit from upgrading your resource building and/or by increasing the amount via nobles. The more trade partners you have the more you can leaver this to gain more wealth out of a limited amount. This is a global bonus (no local noble needed). Cheers for the comment and sub!

    Hi, so I started like 20 days ago playing total war warhammer (1 and 2 as I read bout mortal empires) and started "studying" on youtube how to play the damn game. I really enjoyed your videos but my question is about knowledgeable trait. I heard about it never saw it in my campaign and you did not include it. This trait does not exist in high elves campaign? Is it only for empire? is it overrated? and my last question do hero wizard traits apply the same on wizard lords? thnx again for the guides helped a lot.

    • @ElvenPlotArmour
      @ElvenPlotArmour  Před rokem +1

      Thanks for watching, I try to make them the most consolidated resource for vets and new players so I appreciate it helping you out! The Knowledgable trait is available to most factions with casters and it boosts factionwide Winds of Magic +5. WH3 has capped this exploit by limiting WoM, but in WH2 it's unlimited so you can stack it to get hundreds of winds per battle. It can be very powerful and is an easy first choice, but is it neccessary? No, there's a lot of internet wisdom saying you need to min/max... I play on Legendary and have plenty of wiggle room to field the units I want while roleplaying following all the advice listed here. High Elves have their own traits due to their "influence" resource and don't access Knowledgable and are still considered a strong caster race, you can use Entrepreneurs to boost your income in your capital, but I prefer to use them in my armies and lower my military cost that way. You have a lot more freedom than the internet would have you believe. The only restriction you have is sticking to your racial strengths and protecting your weaknesses with those strengths :) Check out my formations video if you haven't, follow these guides and you'll form your own playstyle that smashes I'm sure!

      In WH2 I believe it is. In WH3 this trait was reworked to give ammo instead. Replenishment boosts still buff though.

    Would putting a archmage ( light ), mage (fire) , loremaster together in one army (alongside a noble and/or handmaiden) be a bad idea since they will run out of mana ?

    • @ElvenPlotArmour
      @ElvenPlotArmour  Před rokem +1

      That's a type of army I'd run a lot. Nobles and Handmaidens are great for replenishment, the loremaster is lategame lineholder and can Earthblood your characters after the battle. This means only your mages are competing for magic during the battle. Different mages means different schools of magic. Do they have a tanky warboss? Net of Amyntok him still and delete him with arrows. Do they have lots of Goblins? Burning Head is your tool. Try to keep above 20 winds of magic until you're under too much pressure and need to use your spells!

    Do you ever use LoreMasters to sunder walls?

    • @ElvenPlotArmour
      @ElvenPlotArmour  Před 2 lety +2

      Honestly, no. Walls are easily negated by elves who can shoot the enemy off them with the correct firing arc. Additionally, this ability is what I regard to be the worst Hero ability in the game simply because you can't use it unless there are walls to begin with (so you can't even use it to get some easy levels). I believe game 3 will fix this, but the way sieges operate in WH2, holes in the walls make no difference in taking settlement unfortunately. Cheers for the comment and sub

      True, but HE are still top tier in WH3 and there are other reworked traits that boost ammo etc now. Overall it's good for the health of the game and as a HE main I'll say: even in WH2 High Elves were never dependant on entrepreneur. In WH3 trade is easier to establish and trinket makers are powerered up accordingly.
