    I gotta say your content is crazy detailed and it's very clear that you really know what you're talking about. I've fallen into the habit where I refuse to play anything but Skaven but these HElf vids are inspiring me again to use some other races.

      Mate, the fact people can sink hundreds of hours into a single race shows how great this game is. Being unbiased, I think Skaven are the most well created race in the game so I can't blame you. Appreciate the feedback, it's a lot of work and keeps the fire going. Cheers!

      @@ElvenPlotArmour Yeah for sure man. Do you mainly play vanilla campaigns? I've been spicing up my campaigns by adding the "Unnatural selection" one where I buff up factions that almost never survive so the turns 80+ are unpredictable. I also really like this landmark one. Adds cool unique units to a lot of factions. For Skaven specifically it adds rocket batteries to a special landmark at tier 5 nuln. So awesome

      @@theasiancow1860 Warpstone and gunpowder ftw...Explains why dragons are endangered :) I'm generally a pro-mod guy and give massive props to the creators but the time consuming nature of the content I produce means I'm running unmodded to ensure accuracy. Fortunately many mods that improved the game have been integrated into the core game so TWWH2's current state is actually epic, even unmodded. I've agreed to do an SFO stream at 500 subs so stay tuned and enjoy me squirm like a noob haha

      @@ElvenPlotArmour Cool, I'll check it out when you do it for sure. I have no idea about anything in regards to SFO so maybe it'll inspire me to play it. What race are you thinking of playing?

      @@theasiancow1860 SFO brings in many currently non-playable factions that are prevalent in the lore so I think my intrigue would take me there. I love the base game but may as well go all out with SFO's unique options.

    This is... very educative.
    i feel ashamed that i never use that effective breath trick on siege battle despite alrdy plays the game for 2 years.
    My favorite dragon is the Sun Dragon , the breath attack is the farthest , flying fastest , and its colour is very cool on the battlefield (also cheapest in its upkeep, ehem)
    I am using dragon mainly to flank attack and spread "mass rout". Being attacked from their rear with Monster that causing terror usually enough to make a unit routing even on very hard diffculty. Again i feel ashamed that most battle i usually still has 1 or 2 breath attack left on my dragon due to my incompetence in micro.
    Thnks for enlightening me , man! i will try to also include the dragon breath in clearing the defenders on the wall in my siege battles, most of the time i leave that job for the eagle blot thrower lol.

      @ElvenPlotArmour  Před 2 lety +1

      Sun Dragon is my favourite too. Most of what I learnt was from maining Imrik. The best advice I can give is when leaving melee (to cycle charge again) move away so you can reposition and blast some engaged enemy troops, then crash down on another unit.
      Imho, dragons are greatly underplayed in terms of the skill to get them to work. With breath attacks, if you're not sure, just move and try again. The siege trick is great target practice because they don't move haha.

    In the Hobbit, Smaug is invincible everywhere except for that teeny tiny gap on its chest.

      Lucky for him he's not in the WH world with torpedos and gunpowder... Though nothing is more powerful than a plot convenient bolt. That one worked twice in Got :)

    Thank you for your another masterpiece guide!
    Your guides always help me a lot!
    I have two question about dragon in campaign.
    How many Dragons should I attach to a single army? 1 or 2 or more?
    Is Dragon doomstack worth their high upkeep cost?

    • @ElvenPlotArmour
      @ElvenPlotArmour  Před 2 lety +4

      Cheers, thanks for supporting the channel. LeErik's advice below is spot on so I'll just contribute to his excellent response.
      As you reach Tier 4 & 5, so will your opponents, meaning you will be facing more, quality fortifications. As the Mongols will tell you, cavalry is useless in sieges, so don't disband your cavalry (per se) but future investment into monsters (preferably flying) will have better utility.
      Doomstacking in general is honestly fun but more of a meme. It's popular because of the novelty of "I've tried an army of all X" so now let's try "an army of Y". Don't get me wrong, the novelty is real and it's easy to command an army with all the same speed, range and abilities, but in reality I rarely do it as these armies tend not to be campaign efficient (even when the lord has upkeep/buffs). Even Legend only has a handful of Rattling Guns in his armies because that's all the army 'needs'. Remember, different units cover different functions so over-investing in an expensive unit that only covers one base doesn't always mean stronger, but it does mean more expensive.
      Similar to dragons, even half an army of dragons with Imrik is more than enough, though his upkeep reduction makes him a great contender. Doomstack units are generally overcosted & overkill. Just remember, your army only needs to be good enough to win without sustaining big loses so while you're finding your feet, 1-4 star dragons is the most I'd recommend. This is why artillery is preferred by experienced players, because you can easily win fights with low loses. Your Sisters of Avelorn are the versatile late game unit. Your dragons are your reach allowing you to maintain a defensive formation. Lerick's comparison to cavalry is a good one, check my formations guide and treat them like a flanking unit.
      Use Loremasters with maxed Earthblood to heal your dragons after every battle to ensure they're sustainable. Life magic is what makes monster-stacks viable. A good way to "deliver" dragons to your troops is hire a Prince with "Dragon Willed" and recruit a Dragonstack then bring them to the front line armies if you can't recruit close by. That said, you'll end up with enough army for many dragon stacks, I personally find it more efficient to have twice the armies at my disposal as an army only needs to be as good as the competition, rather than a single stack that's 40 times stronger :)
