Love these videos - I think it's great when you find a deck you know isn't right because so many end up on the Wishlist and its overwhelming 😂 but also love reserving my right to change my mind. Thats why its so fun! Xxx

It’s such a beautiful work of art, it’s much more Lady Frieda Harris work really. It is also incredible that she managed to organically include the geometry, alchemy, Kabbala, astrology and more in each card! I thought the same about the deck before I really started looking at the art. I think you might like it!🤗

Thoth is intense. I have a copy mostly for reference purposes (and I just realized I've had it for a decade, wow), but the idea of actually reading with it is kind of intimidating for me. I've done it. I've never been comfortable doing it. Right now I have a copy of The Urban Tarot to learn the system, but not sure how interested I am in doing that. Personally love The Good Tarot. I only use it when I'm doing a reading about how to work with one of my students. I mostly disregard the guidebook and read it RWS, but the softness of the art just puts me in that mindset of "hey, remember this person you're so stumped by is eight years old, be gentle."
I enjoy this series quite a bit. I appreciate your commentary on each of the decks and particularly look forward to hearing about decks that have transitioned from the “no go” to the “yes” list and your reasons why. I also like that you’ve added specific categories to group the decks into, which makes these videos super helpful. I’d love to see you do a video on your “forever ride or die” decks -maybe you already have? When you do decide to study the Tabula Mundi, would you consider a series? Something like Jen’s awesome Tarot Play Date? I think it could be fun (although maybe a lot of work...) to go trough the deck and podcasts with a group. Every time you put bad card stock and thin card stock in the same context I want to scratch with my nails on a school board - yes that's frustration 101. It is really not a reflection of the reality of card production. GSM is not an ultimate indicator for quality, only for thickness expressed through weight per square meter. The decks that have worn out in the worst possible way in my possession have thick card stock often with velvet coating. The indie Fountain Tarot is a nightmare and I still haven't found a MM deck with thin card stock that matches it. Apparently producing thicker card stock to has a similar durability of playing card stock is a costly matter and most printer wouldn't bother at all to even offer it. Now that I have this off my chest I would like to mention that I really like this series and I'm definitely planning on doing a video as well. So thank you for the inspiration :)
I hear you!! I may not talk about it enough on my channel but there are some very thin cardstock decks that I LOVE. But there are certain types of 'thin' that feel coreless and not sturdy at all or cheap and cardboardy - those are what I usually determine as the kind of cardstock that I personally enjoy. For example, I really do enjoy llewellyn's thinner cardstock, it feels sturdy, shuffles great! Baba Studios stock is very thin but holds up beautifully and feels lovely! I don't have the indie Fountain Tarot, I have the mass market and really enjoy it, though!
I have the good tarot and I've varied in my ability to work with it... I worked with it for a long time and felt really frustrated, put it away and then brought it out later and found myself more able to work with it.

But about 20 of those tend to gravitate towards my bottom shelf and I'm still grappling with which to re-home. There always seem to be special cards in each that I feel attached to haha. Just allowing my dwindling process to take it's time. Over 1 month no purchases is a start!;)
I love the star spinner deck and just recently purchased it for my best friend:) I'm still considering it for myself though, so obsessed with it's artistic quality and theme!

Love the Anti-Hauls! I have gone so back and forth on the Oriens tarot...I backed it...then I withdrew my pledge.....then I backed it again....and now it should be on its way to me soon and I’m just not excited about it and kind of regret backing it. I have no idea why I have been so waffly on that one because I do like animal decks and I think the art is gorgeous...what is wrong with me??? 🤦♀️
I enjoyed this anti haul as much as the others :) You give a lot of info on the "no" decks and the ones you own & love which is very helpful =) The decks upcoming in 2020 that I cannot wait for are the Edgar Allan Poe deck in September, The Dark Goddess mass market in October, the Dark Wood (on your no list,) I have been a fan of the artist Abigail Larson for many years and that deck looks perfect to me. El Goliath 2nd edition, 2 x Kickstarters I have backed & the Japaridze reprint. I wish there was a special "loan for decks" company - special point - you don't have to pay it back ! ❤️

I really enjoy hearing your opinions on decks. These videos are always great to watch. I am personally excited for the Dark Woods tarot and it's going to be my birthday present. However I can understand it not being for everyone. I have yet to find an animal tarot that resonates with me, but the deck Slyvia Ritter is working on may change that. The deck I'm most looking forward to, is one I've been following for years. It doesn't have a name yet, but the artist (noa89 on twitter) recently finished it and US Games will be putting it out either late this year or early next! And my comment is as long as your video. Lol
Great video! The Cracked Amethyst has a reprint of the Idiosyncradeck as a WIP on her website. It will look different, but I like the new look. It will be called The Jessica Tarot. I'm so glad you've found your connection to the Tarot Fauna. I love that deck very much. I'll definitely check out Cosmic Crow's walkthrough. Thanks for the tip! As to decks I thought I might buy but won't: The Wizards Tarot by Barbara Moore. Her large guidebooks are great (and even the small Earth Wisdom oracle booklet). And even though I love fantasy books and art, there's something about many of the images in the Wizards Tarot that's too artificial/photo-manipulated for me. Barbara Moore's Steampunk Tarot is one of my top 3 tarot decks and guidebooks, and it will do very nicely instead :) I'm curious about your experiences with Kickstarter projects, if you still consider doing a video about it.

I agree with you on the Angel Tarot. I wanted to toss it with the rest of my Doreen Decks, but I just couldn't. When I am sad, I pull this deck out, make a nice cuppa, and wrap up in a blanket. LOL
I wish Collette would bring out the Good Tarot on regular card stock. I have them and they make me so angry every time I shuffle them. They stick together because they are so "plasticy".. I feel like I have to take sand paper to them. Haha

I have pre-ordered the Goddess Empowerment Oracle, by the same duo who brought us the Hero's Journey Oracle. I also preordered This Might Hurt Tarot. The 78 Tarot decks look AMAZING! I have The Good Tarot and yeah.... not one I gel with. Like you said, beautiful artwork but I have trouble drawing anything from the pips on an intuitive level somehow. The Guardian Angels Tarot by Radleigh Valentine is one of my favorite hug decks too. I remember seeing it for a long time and thinking that text on the cards was going to really bother me, but once I held it in my hands it was instant connection. Trimming into ovals gives me anxiety. I would screw that up first card. I will likely grab the Dark Wood but the Star Spinner isn't calling to me either.

Omg, I am so, so buying the Grimalkin Tarot! I do not get why she doesn’t want to do it mass-market... I’m in Romania, Europe amd the shipment is just so expensive toget decks that are not mass-market, it’s crazy! I will totally get it either way, it’s too amazing for me, but hey, I am a cat person, and this one feels perfect, just like the crow tarot does as well ☺️❤️!
I had “ The Good Tarot “ I ended up giving it to my friend cause I had gotten another card deck and I’m really trying not to accumulate a lot of decks.
I have the Starman Tarot, but I haven’t worked with it yet. I am a Bowie fan, which is one reason I bought it. The artwork is a little too busy for me though. Just the little bit of looking through the book and the cards that I’ve done, there appears to be lot of sacred geometry and Kabbalah references. I wonder if it might be a good deck to go along with a study of Thoth.
I am amazing that Thoth is a no go based on a that single card, the card that calls you out on your bull. I always read it as stop being a ****, get your #### together
I love me a good devil card! And I love cards that call me out. To be fair, I may still pick a copy up to work with or study with.... but that devil is just very phallic in a way that feels oh-so-freudian! ;) That said, it's not just that card. It's just that the artwork in general feels a little ethereal to me... not always a bad thing, but not something I'm called to.
... Doesn't like David Bowie.... Imma head out. Also, every loves a good phallic symbol in their deck... right? LOL Tabula Mundi is OOP now from my understanding. Ive been so torn with the Oriens Tarot! IM SO EXCITED FOR MATERIA PRIMA! There was so much on this list I had not even heard of yet.

I have the good tarot and I just can't connect to to it. There is such a disconnect with the images I'm very visual with my readings and a lot of that imagery does nothing for me.

I like your narrative and watch your videos because I find your take on tarot insightful and fun... Though, I am hoping that when you say look at this card, and you bring the card closer to the camera, please hold the card there for a bit longer. You take the cards away from focus too fast and I always feel a bit frustrated! Grrrrrrr For instance when you showed the cards from the 78 Mythical Tarot. I really wanted to see the cards you focused on! Thank you for your wonderful videos! Your enthusiasm is palpable and I enjoy your videos. 🌺🌺🌺

My biggest problem is the combination and reading as such… I took a course in 2014 and have read on and off since then but I still can’t quite grasp all interpretations of the cards. I’m sure it’s more practice and time but i’ll totally go check out your videos… I legit have a notes section on all decks you are forcing me to buy 😆😆😆😆 at least that’s what i’m telling my husband lol. No but seriously I have two guide books I really like but still really struggling to master the cards after all these years!

I am personally excited for the Dark Woods tarot and it's going to be my birthday present. However I can understand it not being for everyone.
I have yet to find an animal tarot that resonates with me, but the deck Slyvia Ritter is working on may change that.
The deck I'm most looking forward to, is one I've been following for years. It doesn't have a name yet, but the artist (noa89 on twitter) recently finished it and US Games will be putting it out either late this year or early next!

Great video! The Cracked Amethyst has a reprint of the Idiosyncradeck as a WIP on her website. It will look different, but I like the new look. It will be called The Jessica Tarot.

As to decks I thought I might buy but won't: The Wizards Tarot by Barbara Moore. Her large guidebooks are great (and even the small Earth Wisdom oracle booklet). And even though I love fantasy books and art, there's something about many of the images in the Wizards Tarot that's too artificial/photo-manipulated for me. Barbara Moore's Steampunk Tarot is one of my top 3 tarot decks and guidebooks, and it will do very nicely instead :)
I'm curious about your experiences with Kickstarter projects, if you still consider doing a video about it.

I agree with you on the Angel Tarot. I wanted to toss it with the rest of my Doreen Decks, but I just couldn't. When I am sad, I pull this deck out, make a nice cuppa, and wrap up in a blanket. LOL

I wish Collette would bring out the Good Tarot on regular card stock. I have them and they make me so angry every time I shuffle them. They stick together because they are so "plasticy".. I feel like I have to take sand paper to them. Haha

I feel the same way about the Tarot Mythical vs. the other collaborative decks available -- I *love* the myths and the way the images reflect them. And Trish Sullivan's guidebook. Come to think of it, maybe I should take a look at the Elemental....... :)

I have pre-ordered the Goddess Empowerment Oracle, by the same duo who brought us the Hero's Journey Oracle. I also preordered This Might Hurt Tarot. The 78 Tarot decks look AMAZING! I have The Good Tarot and yeah.... not one I gel with. Like you said, beautiful artwork but I have trouble drawing anything from the pips on an intuitive level somehow. The Guardian Angels Tarot by Radleigh Valentine is one of my favorite hug decks too. I remember seeing it for a long time and thinking that text on the cards was going to really bother me, but once I held it in my hands it was instant connection.
Trimming into ovals gives me anxiety. I would screw that up first card. I will likely grab the Dark Wood but the Star Spinner isn't calling to me either.

Omg, I am so, so buying the Grimalkin Tarot! I do not get why she doesn’t want to do it mass-market... I’m in Romania, Europe amd the shipment is just so expensive toget decks that are not mass-market, it’s crazy! I will totally get it either way, it’s too amazing for me, but hey, I am a cat person, and this one feels perfect, just like the crow tarot does as well ☺️❤️!

I have the Starman Tarot, but I haven’t worked with it yet. I am a Bowie fan, which is one reason I bought it. The artwork is a little too busy for me though. Just the little bit of looking through the book and the cards that I’ve done, there appears to be lot of sacred geometry and Kabbalah references. I wonder if it might be a good deck to go along with a study of Thoth.
I am amazing that Thoth is a no go based on a that single card, the card that calls you out on your bull. I always read it as stop being a ****, get your #### together
I love me a good devil card! And I love cards that call me out. To be fair, I may still pick a copy up to work with or study with.... but that devil is just very phallic in a way that feels oh-so-freudian! ;) That said, it's not just that card. It's just that the artwork in general feels a little ethereal to me... not always a bad thing, but not something I'm called to.
... Doesn't like David Bowie.... Imma head out.

I have the good tarot and I just can't connect to to it. There is such a disconnect with the images I'm very visual with my readings and a lot of that imagery does nothing for me.

Though, I am hoping that when you say look at this card, and you bring the card closer to the camera, please hold the card there for a bit longer. You take the cards away from focus too fast and I always feel a bit frustrated! Grrrrrrr

If original thoth is not your thing Liber T may be better. I like the style better, it is still a toth tarot deck though

My biggest problem is the combination and reading as such… I took a course in 2014 and have read on and off since then but I still can’t quite grasp all interpretations of the cards. I’m sure it’s more practice and time but i’ll totally go check out your videos… I legit have a notes section on all decks you are forcing me to buy 😆😆😆😆 at least that’s what i’m telling my husband lol. No but seriously I have two guide books I really like but still really struggling to master the cards after all these years!
