Fantastic video, Lisa. I hope deck creators take note of the increasing feedback about age diversity. As someone past the half-century mark, no matter how beautiful the deck is, I find myself asking, "Do I want to take "advice" from characters half my age?" I much prefer older queens and kings, older lovers, older 9 of pentacles, for example. Maybe if I didn't teach people that age at university, I'd feel different.
I was glad to see that you like the Tarot of Curious Creatures deck. The longer I use it the more I realize that the humor and cuteness is only the surface of these cards. The animals on each card are not there randomly. Each animal is chosen carefully to embody the card's meaning. For example the 6 of Wands has an elephant which is a creature we associate with memory. So on point. And each card in the guidebook has a little conversation with the animal. I fnd I am reaching for this deck more and more.😍
I wanna see a head to head of your adorable decks MINUS the monstarot because we all know the monstarot would win hands down always if it was there....

As I immediately put Cozy Witch Tarot on my list to order when it comes out. 😊💖 I agree, I'd rather see a bit more age diversity in her decks, as I'm a bit older than what's typically portrayed in her decks. However, I keep using mine for exactly the same reasons you let yours go. It helps bring me up out of a funk when I need that. Plus, I adore matchy-matchy decks. 😊 I really appreciate the balance you show in your content, bringing new stuff in as well as deciding what not to get and what to let go of. It's really helped me be more mindful with my deck purchases. 💖

I bought Wisdom of the Cailleach when she printed decks a few months ago and it’s SO beautiful! I even emailed Boho Tarot to tell her about it because it the the perfect crone energy deck. Glad to see it here too!
I watch all of this series and am so thrilled when a new one drops 😳 even though I hardly watch CZcams. The surprise here was the Fountain over the Darkness of Light-I tried so hard to get the Fountain to warm up for me before passing it along (just cold sharp edges every time with no doorway into a card’s space). I yearn for more bodily differences/queer aesthetics in DOL, but there’s something about the coloring of Darkness of Light that I find heartbreaking…it is healing when I am feeling too sad.
I love this! It is funny the fountain deck is the only deck I have that I could not connect with. I was going to gift it to my friend but my 4 year old asked for it. He calls them magic cards and makes up stories with them. It is really cute and I love to see it.
If you decide to bring tarot knock outs back you should have Peggy pick out a certain amount of decks to go up against each other so you’re totally surprised!
I love Förhäxa tarot so much! I don't usually order decks that I can't find in EU shops because of added taxes but I knew I needed it and I was so right! Also got lucky and it was on sale and still is I think. but no matter what, it was worth it to get it all the way to Europe!

You’ve been curating your collection and considering what fills certain needs over another in that category/vibe for awhile now. I feel like you could do themes or timing based knockouts or maybe how you read for clients - like I love using these 2 for general client readings and maybe there’s another type of spread that gives one an edge but then it puts it against a third... that kind of thing. I feel like there’s a way to modify it for your current space and library. Loved this one esp. it’s cool to see how you’ve grown and how you’re filling the space for tarot/Oracle as you grow. I’m sooooooo bummmmed. I never knew about Wisdom of the Cailleach oracle. I have been searching for a true Crone deck for years. I’m a crone and actually had a beautiful “Croning Ceremony” when I turned 56 My dad was dying at the time but I still had the ceremony, even though my dad was literally inside the home on hospice. Each of my old friends got to spend time with him. It felt it was like a passing of the torch moment. I was becoming the matriarch and taking on the crone roll. It has been 5 years and I have been searching for a crone deck. It’s on my calendar for next May (which is my birthday month) but if anyone wants to pass theirs on before then…

I think I'm good w/my current setup (after deciding Somina Tarot w/book was my last WL purchase so otw) but that has changed in a blink before so we shall see, it's my mindset. I just bought the hay house edition of the guardians of the Night MJ Cullinane deck for before bed draws and I love it, but I wouldn't have been able to justify it at an indie pricing. These videos have helped me get clarity on my own collection and choices.
I love my Forhaxa. It was one of first decks I purchased in pre-order and cost a little more than I was typically comfortable with. I understand your reasoning with the shipping costs. If you ever get a chance to scoop it up in a trade or second hand, I think you should. Or when you have your meet and greet, have Dawn Michelle bring it so you can touch it and see it in n person.
I have Ocean Dreams too. I didn't vibe with it unfortunately. It's stunning but the key words throw me off. And I hate having to go back into the guide book to read
I totally agree that there is a similarity between the Fountain and the Darkness of Light…to me they have a similar neutral, clear, straightforward voice. I like keeping them both just because they serve the same purpose but the aesthetics are so opposite that they feel almost seasonal-I find myself feeling more inclined to reach for the Darkness of Light in the fall, especially.

It falls flat for me but I’m holding it just in case I ever decide to start a CZcams channel and do pick a cards. If it doesn’t work for that or if I never do I’ll probably sell it to my local bookshop.

Aaah I wish there were more mass market decks to mention! Living in the Netherlands, most of the indie decks are not necessarily available to me, especially the Kickstarter ones where I would need to get a creditcard, plus I just don't like the concept of what Kickstarter has become in regards to tarot decks. I mean, this is probably a good thing because my bank account will be spared lol. But does that mean you were not even a little tempted with other mass market launches or you were too tempted and already picked them up? 😜
Not a lot of Mass Market temptations these past couple months! But I'm guessing that'll be different my next antihaul as there's usually a lot of fun releases as we move into the fall!

I’m tempted by the She Wolfe or Serpentfire however for a bit more I think I might go for Crows Magick which is OOP but its ultimate wishlist deck. I’m so tempted very much Forhaxa too. But I think I’m going to save it for a yearly study of the fae, when I’m ready for it. If I want too still. Would you do updates of the Beautiful Beasts Tarot during your hottakes? I’m very curious about it as well because I love animal energy decks.

I haven't got the Wisdom of the Cailleach because it looks similar to the Weavers. And I haven't worked with the Weavers because I don't feel crone-y enough. I'm not ready to give it up though. Do you know is there any chance that Förhäxa would also be picked up by mass market? Asking for my wallet
There's always the chance it'll get picked up! :) I think nearly all her others have been...
