Lisa...your anti haul videos are so very inspiring and I now do the same comparisons with my existing decks when I look at Kickstarter. I am getting very discerning when it comes to buying new decks. I have the same opinion with the Story Medicine and Tarot of the Crone decks but I, however, did buy the Gentle Tarot and backed the special Avatara bundle of three decks in the early morning release. I won't be buying the Mother Mary/ black Madonna for the same reason. Too expensive. 😱😱Today I backed the Sacred Bee Oracle cos I love love the JOSB tarot and the Drowning World Tarot cos of the Carnival at the end of world is a special deck which has a circus themed deck lov lucy🙏💞

As a tarot newbie, I found the Everyday Tarot a non obtrusive clarification tool. Really basic. I have to agree the 3 colour palette is really stark. But using it with something like Soul Cards, it doesn't detract from Soul Card's voice.
Also it was £7, less than a couple of drinks in a pub. 🤣

❤️😊 Geomancy is fantastic -- I'm still impatiently awaiting my Cosma package shipping too! I just started learning this year when I took Kelly's course (which is amazing); the Greer book is very good. Some of these decks I'd never even heard of. I'm slightly surprised you anti-hauled Gentle Tarot (but maybe only because *I* love it so much, which is ridiculous). I did back Phenomena. I missed out on both Amethyst and Idiosyncradeck so I feel like I've been waiting for a deck from her forever. I understand the 'these cards are all disruptive' take on Phenomena; I actually quite liked this if only because I feel like so often, nature is depicted as kind of "just there," not doing anything -- I like that there is so much action in the deck.

These videos have helped me immensely with deck purchasing discernment! I talked myself out of the Chakra Healing Tarot. It was gorgeous and would have loved to dig deep into chakra work but at the end of the day I couldn't justify spending that much money on a deck once shipping was added. Plus the monochromatic-ish cards threw me off, I'm so used to the current color associations with different cards/suits that the new chakra-based ones just don't work for me.

I feel like I’m saying no to things all the time because there are so many decks 🤣 But recently I said no to the Future Ancestor Tarot (I have Gentle Tarot and I feel like they fit the same niche) and the Oak Ash and Thorn (which broke my heart, but it’s so pricey with shipping and I backed the Tarot Renard which is all foxes so I’m worried they’ll compete too much.)
Can I list a regret buy, too? I kind of regret adding the Prisma Visions Tarot to my Cosma Visions Kickstarter package. I love the idea of Cosma and the art. I love some of the suits from Prisma, but I sort of knew when I added it on that I didn’t really love all of it. And ever since it’s arrived I’ve had no desire at all to reach for it. Something about that wands suit. I have trouble making out the images. The same with some majors. They’re just too small with the borders for me to make out the images. But I’m super excited to dive into the Cosma Visions! 🤷‍♀️
And I’m finding Kickstarter in general so problematic lately! I want the decks when I back them, but half the time when the decks actually arrive I’m no longer in the same headspace, and so even if I’m excited about that deck, often I don’t really want to start using it right away.

I may very well regret the Prisma (and Light) Visions I added on to Cosma Visions... lol especially since I previously traded Prisma... hoping i love it this time around but I know I can trade them if I don't get on with them. ;) Also, yes, I find that with Kickstarters I really have to love it to back it now because of that very reason.

Oh! Lisa I just love your anti-haul videos! Really good food for thought. Try as I might I still make impulsive deck purchases some work out, but many don’t. I do now ask myself..... what do I already have in my deck collection that will fill that niche? This video series has helped me be more thoughtful in curating my decks as opposed to just endlessly adding on more and more. I adore Frida Kahlo and have a majorly strong connection to her and her artwork so I was all about the Tarot Avatara..... but when I really thought about it I realized I love Frida I love tarot but I don’t really need a Frida Tarot..... after much thought I realized i just wouldn’t use it. I have Ian Daniel's Faerie Deck which are the Welsh base Deitie Deck, the Temple of Goddess Deck which also an Welsh Tribal Deck and the Mists of Avalon Oracle deck, I also have The Shapeshifter Tarot and The Celtic Dragon Tarot, both have had since 2001 (The Celtic Dragon) and 2006 (The Shapeshifter Tarot). I didn't buy another tarot deck till about three years ago and that was the The Green Witch Tarot, which helps with not buying The Everyday Witch Tarot or even the Wizard Tarot, their similar but different and The Green Witch Tarot helps me not given in the itch to buy the other two. “Gotta catch ‘em all” energy is so hard for me to resist. 😂 I keep finding examples of decks I don’t really love or “need” that were created by someone whose other deck(s) I totally love. And it’s sooooo tempting. But I’m learning’ - For example, I am about ready to decide that the Urban Crow Oracle is the only MJ Cullinane deck that really resonates with me and sell the others that I own. And I love the Amethyst Oracle but sold my Idiosyncradeck because it just didn’t hit the same for me, and I think that Phenomena deck (which I backed out of FOMO) is going up for sale unopened, and I won’t be backing the new Jessica version of Idiosyncradeck because I don’t like the art as well as the original. Another example: I love Dame Darcy’s mermaid and Alice decks but will not be getting that cat/witch deck. I am a cat person but those cats scare me a bit 😂. On the flip side I got rid of the first 2 Kim Krans decks years ago, feeling I no longer connected with the imagery, but have my eye on her archetypes deck now. Gotta stay flexible and evaluate each deck on its own, right? On that note I really have to sell some on my James R Eads decks. Can I admit I only really truly love the Light Visions, and the others, while super creative, don’t resonate with me the same way?? Maybe that’s a next month project. Or summer... 😂

LOL I'm not sure where I'll land with James R Eads decks in the end.... I'm gonna play with em all and we'll see! I love the simple color palette of the everyday tarot. I find I read better when I don't see details in faces or when there are more abstract images. I don't get as distracted and I can focus on the message instead of the image itself if that makes sense. I use this deck as my "work horse" it is so cheap I have no issues taking it places and I can read any topic with it. The last deck I have said no to several times during and after the kickstarter is Oak, Ash, and Thorn. Beautiful but I have too many that fit that bill...now the dragon deck! Yes!!!! The one I have to continually talk myself out of is The Flux Arcana tarot. The art style is so up my alley--very gothic, pen and ink, looks like old manuscript figures as skeletons, it's so so cool. But unfortunately there's not really enough symbolism on each card for me to work with, I like a pretty full/layered artwork. But it's so cool, maybe I'll have to just buy a print from the guy someday!

49:17, i talked myself both in...and out... of the "Seed and Sickle" Oracle after seeing it on the Hermit's Cave. Simon strikes again. Talked myself into it because, it is stunningly beautiful vector art, would pair brilliantly with a few tarot decks that i own (like Shadowscapes or A.Castelli's Art Nouveau), and i do not have a Botanical deck yet. Then the Universe talked me out of it, because it does not even release until September! Which gives me time to study Shadowscapes and A.Castelli. One card at a time. Didn't back by deadline and haven't thought about the deck since. That's not saying I would never get it once it's out and I see the actual final deck.
Recently someone shared the supercute Ganershian Village tarot in your FB page. It's now at the top of my list together with the Magical Forest. The rational part of my brain is thinking one of these would be enough because GV is basically MF exclusively with little chubby Ganeshas. The Drowning World nearly got me. I almost backed that with the Tarot at the End of the World bundle - I got to the page where I had to enter my card and stopped. It has an amazing Strength card, but I can’t really see myself reaching for it. It is interesting, but I don’t really see myself reading with it.
I am back and forth on The Curious Travels Tarot - I May end up backing that one. My main issue with it is there is a card with an orangutan (and I feel about them like you do with spiders). But, some of the cards just feel so inspired and I adore the Fool, so I may change my mind. (I have it saved.)
There was one other that tempted me but I don’t recall the name and can’t find it. It was a black and white deck, which is not ideal for me, but I think the biggest things were that the price was really high (around $100 US) and while it interested me, it didn’t interest me $100‘worth. (Like when I go shopping with my daughter, I may say something is really pretty but when I check the price I say, „Not $100 pretty“. That is basically how I felt about this deck. I don’t know that I would reach for it that much and couldn’t justify spending that when there are so many other decks I like more that are less money.

I'll add the Panda/Baby Panda comparison to my list!! :) Thanks for letting me know you want to see it! I don't have the mini Roots & Wings, though.

There are a couple. And this has been around for a while. But everything I look at The True Black I fall in love all over again. But it is sooo large and I have tiny hands. I probably would not be able to shuffle it. But even though it has pips, I melt over it
