Owen wilson being a scheming american who wants to get fire saga to go mainstream and drag them into the US as a laughing stock to make a quick buck. Then Ben Stiller learning that he is a greater role model himself and trying to save fire saga from leaving europe. OMFG it would be the 90s all over again.
I love how both actors were so childlike despite their age - yes I did say Will was too old for this role, but tbh he pulled it off somehow
Will Ferrell was 7 when Abba won Eurovision in 1974 so his age is about right for the character.
Why is Will too old for this role? Im not aware of a top age cap for movie actors or Eurovision contestants.

This movie was great. Had romance, great songs, a good storyline, a family arc, murder, funny humor, and even ghosts and elves. Best movie of 2020 so far 😂

When I saw the movie teaser on Netflix the first time I didnt watch it cuz I thought it was just a bad joke of the eurovision but when I saw the quality of the musics that were there I gave the movie a shot and I couldnt be more wrong the movie is really good 👌

@@Blackdragend1 Yeah, it would be pretty cool. Start off with an attempt at "Double Trouble" but have some people yell "Play Ja Ja Ding Dong!" so they play Ja Ja Ding Dong, after that they actually do Double Trouble, after that Lion of Love and finally to finish it off Husavik.
the one thing that really pisses me off about that movie is the audience at their semifinals.
they could have died in that accient on stage but they fought back to finish the number AND NOBODY FUCKING CLAPED?!
I know it is just a movie but DAMN!!! I was so into it and as a Eurovision fan for years now I was SO fucking pissed.
The performance was good and at least they finished it.
THANK YOU. This was the biggest flaw in the movie to me, if something like that had happened and they recovered like that in real life, you know a live audience would've lost their collective shit and been roaring with applause
Didn’t they clapped at the end? I’m pretty sure the audience was shocked in the right after that happened
I thought the same thing! Like you said they could’ve died, so you’d think they would have a medical team that would’ve went out or at least checked them afterwards to make sure they’re okay. Instead, they just finish the performance and that’s it. Along with that, some people laughed at them at the end and when Iceland is giving away their points, the President said “I’m so sorry about tonight. They were…awful. Next year it will be better.” They could’ve died or been critically injured! Whether they were awful or not should be the least of their concerns.
I do love the movie, but it makes me question the writing.
That scene pissed me off too. However, I love that the other countries voted for them not only because of the performance but the determination to finish and give it their all until the end of the performance.
I thought Will did a brilliant job with this film. It pokes fun at Eurovision without being insulting.
Shows you can 'poke fun at' something without mean-ness.
Looked like a documentary of euro vision to me.

The movie was too short, romance, commedy, and musical combined.

That Will Ferrel, I swear he must have watched every single Eurovision performance of the last 20 years or smth. I wonder, how many different ones inspired this whole performance? I could name 2 of them right this instance (Russia 2018, for the visual part before the hamster wheel came in and Ukraine 2014 for the hamster wheel).
Like, this is absolutely exactly how a Eurovision high end performance looks like. Well, if the USA will ever actually join the ESC (there are rumors, alright), then THIS is the kind of song/performance they should send. Or they could try something like what Iceland really did for this year. Don't try to imitate Little Big, alright, there's not enough Vodka in the US to get to that level of drunk genius.
