  • Exploring a hoarders' compound of old trailers and collected junk waaaay out in the Mojave Desert...where I found the SINGLE CREEPIEST ITEM I've ever found while exploring ANYWHERE: a can of some poor woman's cremains!!! Who lived here?? Why did they leave so suddenly, without taking their mom's ashes? And why did they collect SO MUCH CRAZY JUNK?? I have never seen anything like this place -- there were SO MANY personal items left behind!

HAHAHA I love all your theories! But....after being a landlord for years I can tell you that you would be amazed how much a true hoarder can gather in 2 years! I had one that after only 2 years I had to haul off 25,000 lbs to the dumps! I rehabed a place once that had a garage full of garbage...up to the roof...after excavating, I discovered a car! Of course, it was full of garbage too LOL

RIP Rose Marie...sad to think your ashes ended up in an abandoned trailer. For me the spooky part was the position the doll was in! That is just down right pervy! I'm thinking that was recently done. Glad you were with friends

I have long been facinated with abandoned things, especially dwellings. Dad lead us through many old homesteads in the sixties. Lots of fun trying to parse out what their lives were like...You have more imagination than I! I think you have great insight and instinct and the narrative you weave seems most plausible.
So I and many others here, are living our lives vicariously through you!
Keep taking me on your journeys. Be safe. Wear sunscreen....

Definitely has my vote for best abandoned site you have done! Obviously hasn't been abandoned for too long although it's possible that it was just squatters living there for years. Some of the appliances and TV's date back to the 1960's or longer. Probably was occupied by a hoarder for many decades. The expiration date on the food products in the kitchen would have been helpful to determine the last time someone was living there.

Great video of the mysteries of the desert. Like the other that commented, might be Meth Heads or, some old hoarder who passed on then, Meth Heads came in and trashed the place. Here at work, we had a hoarder. She looked and appeared normal until one day she didn't come to work. They sent the CHP over to home for a welfare check and found that she got buried under some rubble that fell on her. She was okay but, her house was so cluttered with trash, the city condemned her house and demolished it because of health safety.

I found the cremated remains of a man about 30 years ago. An old man we knew, who lived up in the mountains, passed away and instead of leaving the ranch to his son he left it to his neighbor who had taken care of him for years. We got permission to rummage through the place and that's when we found the cremated remains of this person's father out in the shed. 3 days after our little exploration the disinherited son came in the middle of the night and torched the place.

  • @lynnlopez3274
    @lynnlopez3274 Před 6 lety +2

You should give the owners some credit. Obviously, to me, someone trashed and looted the place. Emptying out cabinets and throwing around. I doubt the person with the neat sewing setup and books would leave it like this.

The vibes in that area are devastating! There are people who only feel comfy around junk. I think your friend is close, in saying it's a chop shop. They were probably busted, and chilling in a jail, somewhere, wondering about their Mom's ashes. All of your theories are good, and quite possible. I'm glad you moved the poor doll to a more dignified position, and if there is any kind of life consciousness in that doll, she is much happier, now. Take care, W.H.

What a place, thanks for checking it out! My guess is that those people were running a kind of junkyard there, like collecting old stuff, separating the metals and selling it for a profit. Some people do make a living from that. To me it looks neither like a chop shop nor like a drug place. Weirdest thing seems to be that 2015 calendar, maybe someone put it there just to puzzle other visitors? Most other dates you found were about ten years old and I'd rather believe the place had been abandoned that long but maybe there was only like one trailer lived in then. I think part of the mess inside the trailers comes from people ransacking the place on the one hand and on the other maybe because they dumped stuff in those trailers where nobody lived anymore. Running a junkyard probably meant they got old trailers from time to time and when they got a better one than the one they were living in at the time they just changed. Maybe some of the trailers were not even lived in at all out there. Could even be that the best trailers that were last lived in were hauled away by the people who abandoned the place. BTW you could have checked the expiration dates on that canned food too.

I half expected to see Raoul Duke and Dr. Gonzo in the middle of some drug binge blasting Jefferson Airplane in this place. Nasty vibrations all around.

Seriously we have a friend who kind of lives that that all the time. He's a hoarder. It's hard to even visit him because his place is nasty. He's trying to clean up his act, but I think it's too late. But he's a dear friend and a good soul.

Great video! Ive done some desert exploring myself and I'm always puzzled by people just walking away and leaving everything behind. Your imaginative story telling is great but I think it would be really cool if you did some research and found the real story to share with us. Since the property is for sale, it might not be too difficult to find information on this one. Thanks.

They're not "BB's" they are ball bearings or sling shot ammo. Try Slab City near Niland California next to the Salton Sea.

My mother went to Las Vegas in 2003 with my sister and spread her husband's ashes in the fountain at the Bellagio. (that was their favorite hotel)

Hi WH, love your adventures! After watching one of your videos I went to another site called the Brightside and watched 10 smallest countries you never knew existed. One of them is in Nevada! The Republic of Molossia, population 7 people. It's a micro nation. Personally I'm not sure about the legitimacy of this but could be a cool adventure. Always best wishes for a great adventure. LB

Your friend that was with you was probably spot-on, with his assessment of that shithole ! These guys were thieves, who stole anything and everything, and probably got raided by the Sheriffs, (San Bernardino, Riverside, or Los Angeles) and took everyone to jail. I bet if you copied down some of the VIN numbers off of those vehicles, they'd come up 10851.
And out of ALL of your exploratory expeditions, THIS one would have scared ME, wondering if whoever lived there, might come back at any moment, because whoever was living there at any time, was not playing with a full deck. This place is the gold standard for...the hills have eyes ! CCW, suggested AND required.

A friend of mine passed away a couple years ago, he wanted me to keep his ashes on the shelf of my bar where I had the booze, We were close for over 30 years so I kept his ashes there. And every thurs or Friday when I went down in the bar for a drink or two, I would talk to him and let him know I was making his last wish come true, Made me feel better and I was never creeped out about his ashes being there..
