Thanks for turning me on to this video. I love watching exploration videos. Can't do anything like that where I live, in Indiana. The state's over 90% privately owned property. What's left is pretty much all under the parks department, and heavily regulated. There's some old military sites around, but they're all secured. There's one fish and wildlife area nearby that used to belong to a munitions plant many decades ago. Those areas are all restricted, due to the possibility of unexploded munitions. From what people living in that area have told me, every so often, they hear a boom from some animal running afoul of the unexploded munitions.

Nevada has about 48 million acres of public land and much of it is open to shooting, hunting, exploring, hiking, etc. I absolutely love this state and I don't think I could live anywhere else. I've been to Indiana once and I remember seeing what seemed like millions of acres of corn. I love corn and I love your state though. I have a handful of exploration videos here on youtube and I hope you get the opportunity to watch most of them.

Definitely beware of those tarantulas. We have the same Desert Blondes here in Arizona. Their bite is not medically significant to most humans, but those urticating hairs are AWFUL!!!! Do you see how they were kicking their abdomen with their back legs after you pestered them? They were flicking those hairs at you. I would much rather be bitten by a new world tarantula than get haired by one. The bite is no problem, but the hairs will give you a rash that lasts for days, and if they get into your nose or mouth or throat they cause extreme mucous membrane irritation. Getting them in your eyes can cause permanent blindness. I will run 10 feet away the second I see a tarantula flick hairs. I don't mess around with that at all.

Dig the drone footage with the stagecoach frame....nice reverence for those that have gone before....Good mill example....wasn't there a stamp mill at Bonnie Springs? My grandfather worked mining in Mineral Park in the 1930s and later his son in law worked up in that area as Duval mowed down old Turquoise Mountain in Mohave County. That outhouse mad me think that my grandparents had 2 two holers for men and women at their service station/lunch counter going to Kingman on 93 before even getting power there....but that's another story......Makes you really appreciate the desert. @@joelerk6298 No, I don't think so. I'm guessing David used to smoke cigars with his close friends or family and whomever used to do it with him decided to still go up there and smoke them, except they placed a bucket there to keep the stubs in or to put a fresh one in for David to enjoy himself. 🤷🏻‍♂️ They look smoked to me so I say someone goes up there to smoke a stogie with David and enjoy the view before putting the stub in the bucket and going down back home.

If David wasn't at work at his pool business it was a pretty safe bet you could find him hunting, fishing, or just outdoors in general. It was a damned shame what happened to him, but should serve as a reminder for all outdoorsmen to be diligent about safety.

If you got the patience and they're still there you can look in between the floor boards of the prospectors cabin, whatever building was the general store & saloon and find gold. I came across a prospectors cabin way out in the woods not far from where gold was mined in "my state" long long ago. The cabin was maybe 8x12. Anyway the roof had collapsed and a few boards were broke enabling me to get under the boards to the dirt below. I was looking for old bottles but within 3 minutes found 2 tiny nuggets that I could pick up in a area where water had run under the cabin after a ran. I took my back pack filled it with dirt that I was able to get from hitting the boards above also scooped up the dirt from directly under the crack. After I packed all that crap back to the house and what I collected from a 2nd trip I ended up with 3.2 grams. I know if I'd been able to follow the small wash from the rain running under the cabin I probably couldve found more. Last time I was able to go back the cabin and 2 1/2 to 3 square miles around it were burnr.
