Contrary to popular believes Disney isn't even largest media conglomerate having strong competition in form of Alphabet (Google) what has twice as much revenue, and in size compare to AT&T (Warner-DC what actually always was larger then Disney itself) and Comcast (they own internet.. I mean literally!). Of course the reason why children think that "Disney own everything" is because they acquire two high profile but universally neglected pop-culture legends (Marvel has also ties to dozen other companies like Toho and Hasbro). But from bigness point of view acquisition of Fox has more value then Marvel and Star Wars together and whole media industry together is still drop in larger scale of the economy. But It seams that some people sincerely think that Disney is bigger then it actually is. It is hilarious! If that would be the case anti-monopoly law would take action and there is still far to that.

Edit: wow, I didn't expect to cause so much arguing. anyway, I guess I'll explain. With the current Gregorian calendar, there is no year 0. we went from 1 BC to 1 AD. Because of this, the year 1-10 AD is the first decade of the modern era. This is why 2021 will be the start of the next decade.
At the end of the day though, things like decades are pretty meaningless, and there are other calendars than Gregorian that are used. So by all means, discuss your different point of views, but please be respectful of each other; Like I said, its totally meaningless, no need to insult people over it.

Great video. One thing though. I know you try to make these videos as palatable is possible however it is definitely an oversimplification to say that the Raimi Spider-Man movies "single-handedly" ushered in the modern superhero genre. That completely overlooks the contributions of Blade and the X-Men which preceded those movies and helped put the opening steps in place.

9:16 Keep in mind, that $4B deal gave Disney the rights to the characters. Disney already owns Spider-Man, just not the movie rights to Spider-Man. This shows that the character was bought for a microscopic fraction of the price of what Sony offered for just the movie rights to a character Disney already owns. Considering so many characters WITH their movie rights were included in that $4B deal, Spider-Man WITHOUT movie rights couldn’t have been a very big price tag. Shows that Sony really put an absurd price tag on his movie rights.
That’s not the point. The point is how valuable Spider-Man is to Sony. Sony is far more dependent on Spider-Man’s box office performance to make money for the company. Therefore, if they were actually going to sell, they would want a decent price for their most valuable and profitable aspect.
