    I've watched about 50 reviews and have now bought my own 2019 CX9 AZAMI AWD I'm so in love with it. Doesn't feel like I'm driving a bus but a car that wants to be pip on the road, motorway driving is such a dream.

    I had a Lexus RX350, comparing to this both exterior and interior, RM 280K is a bargain.
    Replace the badge of this car with a Lexus one, they can charge you double and you will say it’s reasonably priced.

    In the USA, the 2019 CX-9 can cost as much as 52kUSD. I bought a 2016 model CX-9 Signature with 22k miles for $25kUSD. I love everything about it. Its the nicest used car I have ever owned, and I used to sell Cadillacs.
    Mazda wants the owner to enjoy this vehicle. You can see that effort everywhere you look.
    You can plug the two USB cables in the center seat console, then close the compartment and stow the armrest with the cables coming out at the front/top.
    Thank you for the great review.

    Good review. Could you perhaps demonstrate how easy or difficult it is to park this car at the usual parking spaces around town and in buildings? Cars are getting bigger however the parking spaces have shrunk making it difficult to get in and out. It's very important that the review focuses on city landscape as it better represents the daily driving conditions. Good review nevertheless.

    Last year I was so eagerly waiting for this car to be launched coz I thougt it would be priced at RM230-250k range being a Mazda. As I watched so many video reviews in Australia (CarAdvice, CarsGuide, BRRRRM, Drive.com.au) most of these site picked this over the comparison (Toyato Highlander, Kia Sorento, Santa Fe) etc. AutoGuide even compare CX-9 against the venerable Audi Q7 and said it does not offer much less other than the badge. Then it came out and priced at RM300-330k, my goodness @#$%&
    A 80-90% as good Sorento 2.2 HS diesel is going for only 60% of CX-9 prices. This show how over priced this CX-9 is in the country. Somemore with our roadtax pricing structure, the running cost is also higher for CX-9. Yes, this is a good car but only for those who has the money to "make a difference", and will never be mainstream !! Come on, even a Harrier priced at 240k is everywehere but not this. Mazda still does not command that much.
    And worst of all, no 360 cam and no ACC !!!

    Cx9 pricing in Malaysia is absurd as compared to other countries. It should be the same as Kia Sorento. I was waiting for this car to be launched in Malaysia. Expectation would be a bit premium from Sorento roughly +- 250k. But when it does launched here, I was left with Sorento to chose from.

    Hefty price tag? Dang it must be really expensive in Malay. It's among the cheapest SUV's we can get here, especially for the full option. Slightly more expensive than the Honda Pilot and the Kia Sorento. I've got the CX-9, and in terms of build quality and features and looks, it's just perfect. It all depends on your needs tho. Look around. Will have to say that the interior of both the Pilot and Sorento have ALOT of hard plastics and cheaper materials. And the Pilot is super dull. If anything I'd second the Sorento after my CX-9 for that price range.

    • @szeernfoo236
      @szeernfoo236 Před 6 lety

      I'm in the same situation. Test drove both odyssey rc1 and cx-9 and decided to go for cx-9 because it's a much nicer car to drive. The torque makes it effortless vs the odyssey which I think is best driven very patiently or chauffeur driven. As a passenger the odyssey wins due to its more boxy shape and bigger interior space. Also odyssey ingress/egress for passenger is much easier-Honda designed the step from ground into car to be just 1 foot up, sliding doors open bigger and there's an aisle in middle of 2nd row to get to third. But as the person who pays for the car and drives it, the cx-9 is a no brainer. Hope this helps.

    • @kicappneumatic8585
      @kicappneumatic8585 Před 6 lety

      Sze Ern Foo, thanks for your feedback. As expected, cx9 is the driver's car and odyssey is for passenger comfort. In my case, I think i have to sacrifice the desire of having drivers car and allow the needs of passenger comfort as the priority. Travelling sometimes with elderly parent really killing my option out there. Looks like mpv is ftw 😭

    it was quite an easy decision for me to have this over the german 5 seaters as i need 7 seater capability occasionally. it looks a class above the cheaper korean diesel 7 seater suv. japanese 7 seater eg fortuner lacks the comfort for rear passenger due to the pick up like suspension setup. the acceleration is also best in the class only losing to xc90.

      nazrul nn I too was looking at the Q7 (new model), XC90, CX-9. Needed a big SUV, 7-seater a plus. I ended up with a Merc GLE 250D instead. Looks older as it is just a facelifted ML but at the end of the day, a lot more solid and better after sales experience. CX-9 is definitely value for money. Car in itself is great. The only thing stopping me is the local distributor - Bermaz. Too many horror stories and technical inadequacies. After paying RM300K for a car and having to suffer the frustration of dealing with Bermaz, hard to accept.

    You hit it dead on regarding the pricing level. I am still deciding whether to save over 100k and go with Fortuner full spec (and rear air cons for the 3rd row), but after going thru the test drive of the CX-9 and all the active safety features, it's hard to go back to the minimalist safety features (or lack of) in Fortuner. But at 300k...hmm, it's German luxury level pricing...hmm....hmm....hmm...I hope the CKD version will come with price reduction without significant kit removal.

      Boon Khong Foo The Cx9 is a great car but pricing point is off. If you are considering the Fortune, go for the Sorento instead. It's a better car in every respect from space, to refinement, to power to build quality. But no point taking my word for it, just go test both back to back, or check out reviews.
      But if you hv budget for Cx9, I would just stretch a bit for Xc90 T8. That's spectacular value vs the Cx9.
