- Mercedes GLC or BMW X3? Or Toyota Harrier? Why not consider the Mazda CX-9? Same amount of money, but larger than a Volvo XC90. Looks nice, generous with features, and great to drive. For RM300k, this is a properly legitimate proposition of a luxury SUV.

got my cx9 few weeks ago. now the answer to your question about its price point, it's definitely a big YES for me. at 280k, every penny well spent. very spot on reviews on the car's performance and presence. thank you Kon. keep'em good reviews coming!

unfortunately, yes. on FWD was available the time i purchased it. But i m not too particular when it comes to that, so i guess that's alright for me

CX9 and XC60 T5...which one to choose...?
Having reviewed both the CX-8 and CX-9, which would you pick as a daily driver? The CX-8 would be a more logical choice since because it is smaller and would handle better in tight traffic. But just wanted to know if there are other compelling reasons to pick the CX-9 over the CX-8 .
CX-9 has a more upmarket feel, but that's about it. In all practical considerations, you don't need to go beyond the CX-8.
that design is gorgeous and cx5 doesnt look the best for me especially the back. Overall i like your review and will keep supporting you!

Hi Kon, thanks for the great review, awesome. is CX 9 way better than CX 8 in terms of ride comfort (quietness of cabin, much lower NVH? ) & driving experience, as I’m comparing a used CX9 (2-3yrs) with a brand new CX8, which is about the same price range though. Appreciate for your advise ,tx
Between, would cx9 be much more costlier than CX 8 when come to maintenance?
CX-9 will certainly be costlier to maintain, but it is also a higher segment vehicle built to higher standards of refinement than the CX-8.
any idea whether cx-8 would be coming to msia? or even the 2.2 diesel for the cx-9?
also would the vito be comparable?
CX-8 may come this year, 2.5 NA, but I doubt there'll be a CX-9 Diesel as this vehicle is catered primarily for North American and Asian markets where demand for diesels are weak.
Not sure if the Vito is a legitimate comparison although, interestingly, Bermaz also distributes the Vito in Malaysia.
Hi Kon, how will the CX-9 hold it's resale value say in 5 years time vs the Merc GLC 200?
Can't predict accurately, but Mazda models generally hold good residual values.

The GLC drives and rides better, but for equipment, space, and overall value, the CX-9 is the superior package. The CX-9's interior quality also feels better than the Merc.

20" rims looks small to me fitted in cx9 , even the cx5 has 19".
Yeah, I was kinda expecting 21s, but 20s to me are fine - better FC, lower tyre replacement costs.

This cost 2,830,000 philippine pesos while bmw x3 cost around 4,500,000 philippine pesos. its no compare. I just dont know how much those mercedes benz and bmw cost in malaysia
Ermm... similar price gap. In Malaysia, the CX-9 FWD is about RM280k, AWD is RM300k. Mercedes GLC 200 RWD is RM288k, whilst BMW X3 (F25) went for about RM320k for the xDrive20i.

CX-9 in Malaysia is way overpriced at over $300000 RM. It is half price in Canada.

元々CX9はオーストラリア向けに開発されたモデル、２０１６年３０台だけマレーシアに輸出されたそうです。マレーシア国内で販売されているほかのSUVと比べても巨大サイズです。このサイズ、特に横幅は日本の規定を上回ったため、だから日本国内の販売はおそらくないでしょう。２０２０モデルを買うつもりです。
