I grew up in Philadelphia and remember when the movie was filmed back in 1986. Most of it was filmed at night when the store closed, so they pretty much had the run of the place. Andrew McCarthy said he felt like a vampire trying to get used to filming at night and sleeping during the day. Pretty in Pink was released in theatres when McCarthy was in town.
I am an ex-Philadelphian and seeing Wanamakers made me so nostalgic.
Love this movie!!!! I still listen to " Nothin's Gonna Stop us Now" all the time, I'm so glad these movies are still loved and remembered!💓Thanks Jordan and Jah!👋👍😍
Side note I always wondered what became of this building! I'm so glad it's still a department store!
I saw this film when it came out on a date with my girlfriend. Absolutely love the film! At the time was very curious of where the store was because it was so beautiful. Built in the days when stores and train stations were like palaces! I absolutely love that time period. And the Golden Era of Hollywood! Thanks for doing this vlog!
Safe Travels J&J 🍀
A vlogger called “the old curiosity shop” has vlogs around Christmas time with the Macy’s organ being played. It’s pretty amazing.
This quirky movie crawled right into my heart when I saw it in the theater. So glad you really like it as well! Good job on the video!
Total 80s flashback. Thank You!!!
Thank you so much for this. This was the very first movie that has made me the hopeless romantic that I am today ha ha. This movie when it came out as a child is one that I hold near and dear to my heart.
This movie is one of my favourite 80th films, I watched in Germany as a kid. Im from Poland a Land that has changed in 35 years so much that many places looks total different, but here it is great to see after 35years the places looks like almost in the movie. Good work, thank you 👍
This movie is magical! As a kid I was convinced all the mannequins at the mall came to life at night 😆💜
This is one of my top favorite movies of all time! Perfect cast. Great little story. Loved Hollywood. Loved Rambo. Loved the relationship between Jonathan and Emmy. And especially loved the ending. Thanks so much for this fun vlog, Jordan!!!!
Rambo was the star of the movie! That cute little face!
@@kimma508 - I agree!!!!!
Hi Jordan. I love your video's!!!
Thanks for this. I love this movie. Glad i have a dad who loves 80's movies!!❤❤
That’s was a cool tour. Me and my kids really like that movie.
Thank for making this video! I LOVE the movie, and it's so cool to see the spaces still in use!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Such a great movie and fun movie locations tour!!!! Thanks for taking us along for the ride!!!
One of my all time favourite films. Just great to come across your video. Love things like this. Thanks Jordan.
Philadelphia, my home town!!! Born and raised 💕 Awesome Jordan….great film, great location😊 !!
When i saw Kim the first time, I fell in love with this woman. Andrew is so lucky.. I wish i was there in the 80s but i wasn't born till 91. I LOVE YOU KIM AND ANDREW!
I LOVED this movie when I was young! This is so interesting. The Wanamaker building is beautiful and such a neat piece of history, regular and cinema. Thank you so much for making this video. Glad to know there are other people passionate about the mannequin!
Incredible, this is one of the best 80's movies..Jordan you knocked this outta the park 😎
I absolutely love this movie!!! Thank you for your hard work on this video!
Amazing how it’s all almost exactly the same after all these years. Great job!! I’m going to watch this movie tomorrow. It’s been years.
I watched this film in the theater in 1987, it was fun and a very watchable movie and magical. And then the Jefferson Starship song at the end really added a powerful punch of even more magic to it.
Thank you for the effort making this video. I loved the movie, its really cool to see the locations.
Omg I can’t believe you were in Philly and I missed you 😤🥺 I just love love love your vlogs
I live in Philly, just moved here and watched them film Mannequin 2 on South Street at Jim's Steaks on 4th Street. It was a night filming location.
This was amongst my favorite too. I didn't see the sequel though. I enjoy watching James Spader & Andrew square off in this movie as they did in Pretty in Pink. I chuckle with happiness when I see Andrew directing an episode of The Black List. I really hope that Andrew would have a part of an enemy or a frienemy to Spaders Reddington on that show someday.
If I could afford to travel a lot seeing random movie locations is what I'd do. I always enjoy yours and Adam's vids always look like so much fun.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS.. Watched a similar video to this last night, and loved this movie since 1987 - must have watched it 50 times or more (don't worry, we all had a crush on Kim back then!) ..I live in Liverpool, UK but plan to get to Philly & New York one day, and guess where i'm going first!
WOW, I haven't watched any of your videos in months, and you haven't missed a beat! I would have never guessed that you would vlog this!
Jordan, your videos rock - you seem to always find my childhood favorites! Keep up the great work!!
Love, love, love this movie. My husband is from Philla and familiar with this store. I’ve been to Wannamakers that were outside of the city but never to the flagship store. How much fun!!!
Loved this movie! One of my faves! Thanks for sharing!
My favorite movie ever manequin on the move !!
Excellent job hunting down those locations! That couldn't have been easy. Thank you for letting us see cute little Jah as well! 😍
Thank you Jordan. My favorite movie also. Could watch it all day, and rock out to all the Starship songs.
Mannequin has always been my favorite movie. What a great video!!
Thanks Jordan for an awesome vlog! I love this quirky movie. I was able to meet Andrew McCarthy several years ago and he couldn't have been nicer. (The latest book he wrote "Brat: an 80's story" is a really good read.) Thanks again Jordan for taking us to interesting places!
AS A PHILADELPHIAN BORN IN 1982 I LOVE THIS MOVIE 🍿 🎥 AND HISTORY OF THE BUILDING IS JUST AMAZING 🤩 THE VIEW
This is one of my favorite movies. Watched so much as a kid and I think I am gonna watch it this week. So glad you got to go there. That is one beautiful building!
Love it ❤️. One of my favorite movies. Need to see it again. Thanks Jordan.
mannequin great movie haven't seen it in long time but gonna go buy the DVD thanks Jordan 👍
One of my favourite movies ever!!
Thank you Jordan.
Me too!
Now I want to watch this movie again!!! Really good vlog!!!
This move was so underrated. I always loved it back in the day. This was so fun to watch. :)
One of mine and my moms favorite movies! I love how you go to places not many go to.
Great job as always, Jordan! I loved this movie as a kid and even convinced my wife to make Starship’s “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now” as our wedding song! We’re married 20 years tomorrow
It’s fun to hear the excitement in your voice when you do videos that you enjoy so much !!!!!!!
This was one of my favorite films as a lil kid. I never knew it was filmed in Philadelphia. Awesome 😎 vlog Jordan
Very happy you did this vlog!❣️🌹
Great nostalgic video! The floor tiles at Boscov's look the same too.
Thank you for this tour of our great movie. I was at a party years ago and entered a room where a lady was sitting and I said hello only to discover she was a mannequin. This gave me an idea to rent mannequins to people going out of town.
I own a retired school and have placed 20 mannequins in different outfits around the building. You can buy mannequins from Walmart or Amazon for under $50 delivered.
I grew up in Philadelphia and was 11 when Mannequin was filmed but I knew the locations. Fortunately I went to high school in center city (Hallahan) and was in 11th grade when Philadelphia was filmed. Very cool when I got a glimpse of Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington. One place in Philadelphia that is a must see is Fort Mifflin. If you go do it in October when they do lantern tours at night. Very creepy and I got the chills more than once. Fort Mifflin dates back to the American Revolution and is fascinating in the day and scary nighttime. It’s also very haunted.
great vlog, this movie is in my top five 80s movies, it's quintessential 80s this flick, never gets old
You feel like you’e in the movie. How exciting! 🎉
Love this! I remember seeing this movie in the theater when it came out.
Hey Jordan your matchups go unequaled Mannequin a fun movie with a classic Grace Slick song !!! My wife was there and heard the that organ ! Nice work !
I might be binge watching this a lot. With my cousin Vinny too. Lol Thank you Jordan and Jah!!
One of my favorite movies!!

A fun and sweet movie for any age. Thanks Jordan!
Agreed
Loved this movie was so cool to see this thanks Jordan!🙂
OMG, Mannequin was a favorite movie of mine and my sister growing up! :) Also, it was great to meet you at Elvis Week, Jordan.. I met you in the lobby of the Holiday Inn. Hope you come to Boston someday! You'll love it.. so much to see.
Great to meet you! I remember! I hope to get to Boston soon.. thanks for saying hi
@@DazewithJordantheLion Sure! I recognized you right away. I’m friends with Trey Miller who I think you know too. What an unforgettable week!!
Great scene with them dancing all over the place, different costumes!
Jordan, you did it again! Another great vlog. Classic 80's film I like a lot too. We're about the same age so most of the things you appreciate, I do as well. Funny movie. I haven't seen it in years and you were giving me good flashbacks. It was all coming back to me. We laughed at the same parts in the movie. I forgot how funny Spader's part was; what a snob. Cattrall was hot man. I was just about 7 years old, but whew, she was nice looking. And finally before you mentioned it, I had the Starship song in my head. Also good song. They just don't make em like they used to. Thanks a lot Jordan. God bless you and Jah.
I just finished watching mannequin: on the move. Love these movies since it’s filmed in my hometown
Thanks for this amazing vlog. My best friend from kindergarten Jill and I would watch this movie everyday, memorize the lines and would go to JCPenny at the mall pretend to be mannequins in the hat department. Jill past from cancer in 2015, thanks for bringing back the old memories.
I’m sorry about Jill passing away but it sounds you guys had fun together. You two sound like you were a fun pair!
That’s my city! Hope you had a great time!
Loved it!
@@DazewithJordantheLion I hope you and Jah tried a soft pretzel and a cheesesteak? My city has so much history you could have been here for months lol oh and the Rocky statue!
One of my movies of all time too.
Jordan, nice to see ur fur baby 🤗
Haven’t even watched … but I already love it !!! Thank you Jordan 🤗🤗🤗
This is a really good movie! I am so glad that you showed the locations! Plus love the cameos of Jah.
Thanks!
I live near Camp Hill and go to the plaza where the Boscovs is often. My kids are tired of me telling them how an awesome 80s movie was filmed there. Lol
Great one. Now I have to rewatch Mannequin. I think it might be free on Pluto! Binge watching you as I take a break from packing for my move.❤️
I haven’t seen this movie in years, I loved it! Jordan you do such a great job in your vlogs, you got me excited to find this movie so I can watch it again! 😘❤️
Thank you!
Hi Jordan, that was great, I loved the film 'Mannequin'. How funny, I was only playing the music video yesterday 'Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now', what a fantastic song. Boy, that Sales Assistant you spoke to in Macy's has got some Macy's years under her belt if she was there when it was filmed. Jordan, you should have took Jah around in a little trolley cart ha, ha. Great job Jordan.
That would have been hilarious! Jah at the Cosmetics counter shopping for doggie eau de parfum (he has everything else!) 🐶❤
Favorite 80 s movies
Wanamakers was the most beautiful department store ever. Everything about it was magic. The toy department put FAO Schwartz to shame. And, yes, it was "meet me at the Eagle" because the store then was not as open as it seems to be now. I also remember falling down marble steps to the lower level but those steps were not shown. The Christmas display was awesome. The film was shot in 1986 after I left Philly but seeing this makes me nostalgic. I must watch the film again.
Your the fucking best love you find eighty movies and show how ur correct. Love u man. U deserve a million million subs. Makes me feel good to being back my good fuckin memories. It’s actually a natural high. Keep it up
Great video, thanks!
I was 11 when this film came out and I remember having a crush on Kim Catrall. There’s always a few films from your childhood that stay with you for life and this is one of them. Also Trading places that was also filmed in Philadelphia....hint hint .
I’m always in that Macy’s at Christmas time for the big light show where the organ pipes are, and the Dickens display upstairs that they have. I lived there when they filmed Mannequin and they interviewed James Spader on the news. I didn’t know they shot Illustra (sp?) at Boscovs. Glad you blogged that movie. I forgot all about it. I wish they still made movies like that.
I saw a video of Andrew McCarthy speaking and remember this time on the movie , Kim Cattrall must be too make a movie tour with Andrew ( only for the movie Anniversary ) because saw this actors remember this movie is magic ( many memories ).
OMG I was just thinking of this movie this morn I Loved this movie!! Awesome song by Jefferson Starship!! Great vlog 👍🏽👍🏽❤️
awesome vlog!! i love this movie, too!! you're really batting a thousand, Jordan!! thank you, and don't stop!! :)
Loved this movie and loved the shop it was so beautiful, so good to see it hasn't changed (much). So many great 80s movies out there! The 80s did movies well, great storylines (maybe a bit wacky) but great! And amazing soundtracks! 👍😊
I haven't seen this in years but I really loved Hollywood. He had me rolling in laughter.
I remember when they started filming this at the Camphill mall. It was right after the mall was finished, but I’m not sure it had opened quite yet. In any case, it is so cool seeing the store in the movie which are used to hang out in so much as a child. Brings back the great childhood I had and the incredible times I had there with my grandma and friends. Such an incredible area to grow up in, especially in the 80s with three huge malls within minutes of each other. Being Camp Hill Mall, Capitol City Mall and the Harrisburg East Mall. Three incredible malls all within minutes of each other a great place to hang out as a kid. With incredible stores and great arcades, not to mention some great food.
Took my first girlfriend to my first date at the theater in the Capitol City Mall to see this movie when it first came out. Great times!
Niiiiiice, Jordan my old home town great movie 👍👍👍 Joe.
Who else use to watch the TV guide channel to see what was on and this movie happened to be on replay so, would just leave it on and watch it over and over

A beautiful building.

great movie, you captured it all.
i wonder if anyone knows where Jonathan's apartment was, we only see it once near the beginning of the movie, but what a great apartment it was, a spacious open plan studio type pad, with nice wood floors and a grand piano in it!
Hollywood's Cadillac was supplied by Restoration Station ,Browns Mills ,New Jersey
I watched that movie and I loved it!
