I worked in a department store in the 80's.
The guy who styled the mannequins, named them.
He even wrote their names on their heads.
Which was covered by their various wigs.
I was mortified when he told me he named one after me.
Creeeepy!!!!
There aren’t enough emojis to properly display my disgust so I’ll just say EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
Haha. Mannequin and Starship’s 1987 classic hit Nothing’s gonna stop us now:) I actually met Mickey Thomas of Starship at a casino bar after he did a gig in Reno. I was there for a local cover band, who were friends of mine. My friends wife and his sister asked me to ask him if he was who he was, and I guess, I got to be their fan wingman or something. He seemed super chill and the ladies enjoyed getting to meet him, so good times, and great reaction to this wonderful quirky, yet wholesome film:)
That’s awesome!!
I loved watching this movie growing up. It still holds up even now. I will take this over some the rom coms that are made today by a long shot.
I can respect that…
I enjoyed this movie when I was younger and I recently tried to rewatch it on HBO Max and couldn't remember why I liked it so much. It must have been my appreciation for 80's Andrew McCarthy. Great review!
😂😂 It’s got to be bc there def isn’t much else.
@@KisstheReviews 😂 so true!
Pump your brakes, kids. Tony Danza is a national treasure.
😂😂Respect the Tropic Thunder reference!!
Enjoyed the review! Cory, I love your t-shirt!
Thank you very much!! 😎😎
Awesome guys! 😂
So I'm a straight, and as a little girl, I absolutely adored this movie. But watching your review, it's dawning on me how progressive this was at the time, regarding "the gays." Yes it's a silly movie and yes, "Hollywood" is basically a cartoon, but more that the Estelle Getty character is so open minded.
Estelle always seemed involved in progressive projects. The GG still holds up in almost every way. Hollywood is an interesting study. He is an absolute stereotype but he is unapologetic about who he is. The employees calling him fruit and ferry was a bit much but otherwise he was widely accepted. I’d like to see someone smarter than I am really dig into that character.
I was in tears whole review Omg 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Thank you so much!!
Y’all should definitely review the crush
Please don’t make me masturbate that much…😂😂😂
As a kid, I thought the hat filipping was cool based on this movie and of course Michael Jackson. Hat flipping was a thing. Also, this is basically a companion movie to Barbie (2023)
Nice!! 😂 I think Barbie was way better but that’s freaking hilarious
@@KisstheReviews Have you two ever played Cine2Nerdle Battles? It's a 1v1 movie trivia game. That would be some fun content.
Man this movie blows! Not even your quick and humorous banter could save this one.
It was a rough watch for sure!
I'm ☠. Great review. 😂
Appreciate you, my friend!
So my question: You’ve gone through most of the Andrew McCarthy filmography: St Elmo’s Fire, Less than Zero, Pretty in Pink, Fresh Horses, and now Mannequin. What’s been more painful watching the McCarthy or the JVCD catalog? If you were to work in Guantanamo, what would be the more severe torture?
Great question! McCarthy def has a better film catalogue however I still find JCVD more entertaining. Andrew is always in some dramatic scenario…and that’s a lot for me. If I can’t punch my way out of problems, I don’t acknowledge them. 😂
The perfect torture is McCarthy in every JCVD role but with no fighting.
@@KisstheReviews haha! I was being mean. I appreciate both guys. I think I saw Mannequin in the theater when I was 11 years old and thought it was a cinematic masterpiece at the time. I actually still enjoy watching a scene or two from it. Having to actually sit through the 90 minutes though, that’s a little rough.
Um, yeah, I also really liked this as a child. Watched it recently. All of the nope lol
😂😂😂
How did you know I wore JNCO jeans
😂😂
