It’s a reality check to be reminded how long ago it’s been since this movie was made when I see how much has changed at those filming locations; especially sad to see the store and coffee shop building and how much it has deteriorated. I wonder if Dr. Marvin’s Jeep survived? Great video … as always!

The screen door on the general store in the original movie was typically furnished to these stores by Rainbow Baking Company. You can see their advertising in the movie. My dad worked for them and parent company Campbell Taggert for all my growing up years.

My wife and i watched this movie last night. One of Bill Murray's best! Really amazing to me that there is no blu ray/4k of this movie. All we have is the old non-widescreen dvd. Awesome video, loved seeing the locations!

14:00 I love how the Doctor slowly backs up into the shadow and then proceeds to keep walking backward around the corner lol. You caught a bit of that when they were saying "cheese" for the camera actually. This is one of, if not my favorite comedies of all time. I actually caught it in the theatre back in '91 and have viewed it many, many times since.
This is definitely love or hate movie. For me, it's annoyingly funny and I laugh, yet get frustrated as well. Thank you for covering this OG!

Such a great movie Jordan, I just watched that movie for the first time in years it's so funny. I loved at the end where Bob marries Dr. Marvin's sister, and it saids that Bob was writing a book called Death Therapy and Dr. Marvin is suing him for the rights. That house has not changed a bit at the party scene

Love What About Bob?, it's one of my favorite comedy film, sad how the bus stop, coffee shop building is so worn out and falling apart, nice that a guy let you see the house. The vidoclips from the movie got me laughing all the way through, thankyou Jordan for making and sharing this video! 😃

About the elk statue in front of the Elks Home, actually WAS there during filming, and they had to hire a helicopter to lift it out of view for the film. You can see the base where the statue stands in some of the scenes. Because the helicopter was so expensive, they did the shots of the front of the building and both instances of Dr. Marvin driving up all at one time and in a single take.
I worked with a software company that serviced the Elks Home, and I got to go and visit a few years back. I knew the place looked vaguely familiar, but it wasn't until the activities director who was giving me the tour mentioned that it was a filming location for What About Bob? that it clicked for me. Very very cool place, even without the movie connection.

I LOVE that movie! I'm a huge Richard Dreyfuss fan. I have almost all his movies but unfortunately they are on VHS tapes. lol
Interesting that WAB was filmed in the VA Nat'l Guard Building. All the TV Show Army Wives interiors and even some exteriors were filmed at the South Carolina Nat'l Guard in Charleston, SC.
