I grew up in the valley until I was 15 years old, when my dad moved the family to Oregon. My two older sibling moved back to the valley within a year or so. I never did. Sometimes, I wish I had. I would have loved to have been part of the canyon scene.

I'm a culture journalist, and we lived in the Cyn (Ridpath, Kirkwood) for 25 years. i do miss living there, and of course we all love the Cass-Croz-Joni-Graham Nash- Eric-Doors-Carol King groove. what's shocking now are the rental / mortgage prices, and the fire risk. it's a disaster waiting to happen...
Roman Polanski and Sharon Tate lived in Benedict Canyon. At that time, I believe, the Manson Family were mostly living at the Spahn Ranch out on Topanga Canyon Blvd (but miles north of Topanga Canyon).
