  • Welcome back to the build!
    In this second episode we get to grips with installing the rear brake caliper - this turn out to be more tricky than I first thought/hoped it would be.
    We also get rid of some nasty decals on the front forks, fit the new casette, and fit the front caliper.
    Stay with us as we complete possibly the biggest issue of this build and move closer to that day when we can ride this awesome machine!

    I'm also trying to get a modern caliper on to an Attitude of roughly the same vintage; this saved me a ton of trouble, thanks!

      @timeforbikes  Před 3 lety

      @@mortona42yt So sorry but no. It is a fairly easy part to make, but you do need the tools and time, not something everybody has that's for sure. Do you need one for a Klein?

      @@timeforbikes I just picked up a Klein Attitude frame for a gravel conversion as well. I ordered the A2Z adapter, but I like this flat design better - looks like there's more options for calipers and better stability.

      @@mortona42yt since making this video I have ridden the bike a fair bit and can honestly say that it works great, and there have been no issues. It's a great bike to convert in my mind and I am sure you will not be disappointed. So many people love it in the flesh! Let us know how you get on, and it would be great to see a picture of it finished. Enjoy and happy cycling 👍

    Where can I get the adapter for the rear disk brake?

    • @timeforbikes
      @timeforbikes  Před měsícem +1

      Hi, as you can see I made my own. There is one available from a2z bike parts but I didn't have any luck with it. Apparently you can use that adapter and fit a larger 180mm disc and caliper to it and it should all fit well - I only found this out after these videos. If you search the web you may be able to still find the posting I followed to make mine. It is an upgrade that transforms the bike and is well worth the effort. Take care and happy cycling 🙂👍

      That's exactly what I thought that the disk was too small and a larger one would fix that

    Where did you get that adapter from? I would also like to buy one for my Gary Fisher Joshua F2

      So Sorry for the late reply Brendon!
      Have a look at this website. I am in the UK and they are a great little business .

      As you will have seen the adapter did not work on my Klein, but may be worth a go with your bike.
      Take care and happy cycling!

    Okay, so, why not remove the brake bosses and cap them?

    • @timeforbikes
      @timeforbikes  Před 4 lety

      Hi, good point. I tried to remove them on the forks but one was not coming off. Also I am considering swapping out the forks for carbon, and hence I did not see much point removing them for what could be such a short period of time. Good point though as it would look better without, and they are not needed. Hope that helps? Thanks for watching.

      Hi, and thanks for getting in touch. You can get the ATZ adapter here:

      Either that or have a crack at making your own I suppose ;). Thanks for watching and feel free to ask any other questions. Happy cycling!

      gracias por comentar, de alguna manera estaría de acuerdo, sin embargo, mi plan era conseguir un par de horquillas de carbono para la bicicleta si el proyecto iba bien. siempre iba a ser una opción barata ya corto plazo. desde entonces, la cinta ha demostrado ser perfecta, ya que se ve tan bien como el día en que se colocó. bodge sí, funcionó y todavía funciona como una cubierta atractiva - ¡Sí! recuerde que no tiene ningún efecto estructural y es solo una forma rápida de cubrir una superficie, en este caso no había absolutamente ninguna razón para haber hecho algo diferente. ¡Cuídate y feliz ciclismo!
