I personally would be in-kleined to give it a nice paint job, probably something around a nice glittery/metallic purple/blue and do the decals as bare frame (polished) and a real shiny clear coat 👌😋

One last thing I find on the old school mountain bike market. Usually if it's a decent deal it's a super small frame. Where did all these short people come from in the 90s willing to pay a 1000 thousand bucks for a bike?

A polish is enough but maybe a coat of lacquer if you like how it looks then. Repainting won't add anything to the ride quality and given the amount of bikes you have already I don't suppose you'll ride it so keep it as original but nicer parts

Think it needs a real nice paint job with a fade like the kleins pre trek buy out.
Always struck me as odd trek buy them get rid of internal routing now they're all back to internal routing.
It would be awesome if you could find the one piece mission control stem and bar for it, though they won't be wide bars

I would love to do a fade paint job on it, but I think it might be beyond my skill level. But I think a rainforest finish is definitely on the cards.
Ahh interesting you mentioned the one piece Mission Control. I almost bought a brand new Vitus Mach VTR commuter/hybrid a few weeks back in the wiggle/CRC fire sale as I fancied a new commuter annnd it’s got a one piece bar/stem that I could steal off it and use 😅unfortunately they ran out of size L before I could pull the trigger and order it. There’s a few other models in the range that aren’t heavily reduced at the moment so I’m keeping an eye out for them 😅

Gosh those bars are narrow. Just get it blasted. Repainting in a single colour is simple especially with a 2k epoxy clear coat .
