Thank you Sirrrr. I really enjoy your videos. Love the early mountain bikes. 80s and 90s I always wanted but couldn’t afford. Now they are laying on the side of garages with flat tires world wide. Some are free. Yewww.

Mate that's class. Even that high rise stem doesn't spoil the clean lines! Love your attention to detail and methodical approach to cleaning.
The curved bit of metal housing that meets the brake is called a noodle (or it is in the UK), and the rubbery spring section that covers the cable where it spans the tyre is called a boot.
I love the classic look of Rockshox Indys. I had a cream one back in the day 👌🏻

Had a good laugh when you were explaining the springs for the brakes. I spent over an hour one day trying to figure out what I was doing wrong with the brakes on a restoration because I didn't know the springs worked in opposing direction. Good video.

Those Klein frames are nice, looks like it has a nice geometry it looks pretty ergonomic to ride daily even with the front shock, this is how they just make all bikes for novice riders I bet it's really safe

Yeah seems real classic for just a commuter bike these days, with the small shocks just to take the edge off 👍

enjoy your videos, just a thought. you may want to look into an ultrasonic cleaner, they are not that expensive and i think you would be really happy with the results, you could toss in the components and use some cleaner but get a better clean than just soaking. anyway just a thought keep up the great work, i love vintage MTB's i currently have a proflex 856 and a Klein Mantra that i turned into a full suspension gravel bike LOL but i love it. Kudos from North Carolina USA

Great Job! I just picked one up in a lot of 4 bikes for $50. Maybe same color, mine is a hint more orange and my stickers are more of a cream, probably faded. Should have taken a before and after of my restoration but it turned out nice as well. I converted to ss. Only mod I had to do was to file the dropouts a few mm to allow chain tension adjustment. Great bike! Only problem is the darn paint is very delicate. Anyway, again great job on thr restoration!

Definitely a 1998 model. I had a '98 Mantra. I probably should have gotten a Pulse back then instead. I'd be riding it today.

Good call. I happened to have a 97 Klein Pulse Comp and it has a few "features" that make it a bit of a pain to upgrade. Such as the 7 speed cassette in the short lived Shimano IG standard. And it wasn't just any old 135mm Parallax rear hub, it's 130mm, which means you're buying a road hub from Shimano instead of a Mountain bike hub or spending a few hundred on an anodized piece of jewelry. Oh that and the ISIS drive bottom bracket, . The Alivio groupset (below STX) is cheap looking and not what I want. So before anyone looks to refurbish, check to see what the rear hub size, because the frame I have wants 130mm.

Sorry mate those hub in the front is a cheap asian one ... possibly an IS hub that was repaired at one point with Shimano parts (because IS parts were realy hard to get or just not aviable)
, STX and STX RC had the same shape as the older Shimano hubs as you see in the back but the STX RC you also could get in that brown-ish colour like the middle arm of the STX RC derailleurs ....realy good hubs , but those IS were known for trouble because the material the bearing cones were made of was softer steel and not the quality steel shimano use .... this was sadly pretty common back in the days on cheaper bikes to safe money why we called them eye catcher because it had one thing that was well known for quality and took the attention off from the cheaper parts
