    Great video, I have my own shop been turn wrenches for 40 years, work on everything from cars, trucks, equipment, gas, diesel, very helpful when you find somebody that is specialised in one manufacture. Thanks for sharing your experience.

      As things get harder and harder.....I find its best to stick to one car line. Being great at all is almost impossible. I have enough trouble keeping up with our newer stuff and the changes that we make lol. I do appreciate you watching the video and for taking the time to comment. Make sure to subscribe Brian if you havent already.

    Don't you just love finding people who: 1. know what they're doing; 2. love what they're doing; and 3. are going places?

      Stephen Kissel Hey there Stephen. The video would not have been the same for the 2007. Not a lot different but different none the less. It will work for your 2012 however if need be.

      Thanks Roy. I will keep it in mind. I dont get any headliner repairs so making a video might be hard. But if I ever do I certainly will try. Appreciate you watching the videos and for the request

    I have a 2010 dodge ram 1500 if you don’t want air conditioning problems don’t run outside air if you’re in a dusty area. I never run my air conditioning with outside air unless I’m on the highway and it’s not really hotAnd if you do this you will never have a plugged up condenser.

      Its a gamble each time....most times they survive and others they dont. You should only have to install and rotate it to lock it in place. Thanks for watching and make sure to subscribe.

    What would something like this cost? To replace the evaporator? I have a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 that I just put a new engine in and the A/C hasn't worked since. Help....

    • @MotorCityMechanic

      Labor is around $700 plus about $300 in parts......so $1000 would be a good rough estimate. Hope that helps. Thanks for asking and make sure to subscribe.

      @MotorCityMechanic  Před 5 lety

      @@janetthaut5454 Sorry to give you that news. But if you do it yourself you will mainly only be paying for the parts and having some evac and recharge the system. Its really not as bad as it looks.

    So I got a 2014 2500 6.4 and have lukewarm heat but both hoses are hot. I see the little white tab on the door move when I switch from cool to heat and the truck gets up to temp. What should I check for next?

    • @MotorCityMechanic
      @MotorCityMechanic  Před 6 lety +1

      In a case like this I recommend performing the HVAC calibration test using a scanner that is able to so that it can be tested to see if there is an issue. Thats where I would start to rule anything out there.

    • @HKvsGlock
      @HKvsGlock Před 6 lety +1

      Would the calibration have to be completed by the dealer or can I do it myself without a scanner? I have flushed the system (including the core itself) and now sometimes get really hot air and other times it's just barely good enough. I'm up in Wyoming and need to fix this before it starts to get below freezing. Many thanks man!

    • @MotorCityMechanic
      @MotorCityMechanic  Před 5 lety +1

      You need to have the scanner thats able to perform that.....a dealer or independent repair shop should be able to.

    What will be different if you have a center consul?

    • @MotorCityMechanic
      @MotorCityMechanic  Před 7 lety

      Afternoon Jake. The only difference is the removal of the center console. I don't have a video on that as of yet. It's nothing hard.....remove the front rubber tray liner and there are some screws there. The large chrome ring around the shifter need me to be carefully lifted up and off. Then you can remove the upper portion of the front of the console where the shifter is. Then it's just a matter of removing the related bolts and screws. I believe the shifter needs to come out as well....been awhile since I had to remove a center console so please excuse if my memory is a bit fuzzy

    • @MotorCityMechanic
      @MotorCityMechanic  Před 5 lety +3

      The one thing thats common that can cause issues such as this when the dash is pulled back is the brake pedal switch. Sometimes you can reuse it....sometimes you cant. I would first start with checking the codes to see what caused the light to come on.....I still have a good feeling the pedal switch is the cause just based on experience. Thanks for watching and for the question. Make sure to subscribe
