    First, thank you so much for your video. I just completed this swap and couldn't have done it! AC Blowing ice cold now. A quick tip to anyone driving a 2012 V6, there is one AC box screw behind the electrical distribution panel with the 4 big connectors. In this video its behind the coolant container but in certain models its behind that panel.

    thanks for the full 4 part video, I was able to replace both heater and evaporator, and able to change the fresh air vent to one that has a filter, the original vent was not made with a filter slot, so, the evap was pretty nasty. the best part, I had no parts left over, so I immediately wondered if I lost a few.

Remove those acres from the sheet metal mounting plate. Pull the entire unit, the 3 connectors and the PCM?, away and lay it down. HIDDEN NUT BEHIND THIS UNIT!!!!

    You can measure the size of the enclosure for the cabin air filter, it’s optional btw, you have to take a razor knife to cut it out. But then go to a parts store and size them up and there’s always one that fits. Part number 90183p cabin air filter car quest

      The heater core lines extend too far out the fire wall which requires pulling the hvac box back enough.....thats why the a/c has to be discharged....just not enough slack in the a/c lines and drier to allow it. Thanks for watching and make sure to subscribe

Passenger side is noticeably stronger, and cold air flows easier now than heated air. I located and replaced three actuators, but the issue persists.

    Great video I was able to do mine in 7 hours. The only issue I had was once I got it all back together my controls get stuck on the foot vents. Seems like it does it once a week. So I get out and unplug and plug back in the climate control harness behind the passenger kick panel and it’ll make it work again for a few days. Any ideas on what the real fix is. I know I plugged all the wires back in to the right spots and when it works everything works properly

    Hey so im trying to replace my heater core on my 17 ram cummins. Im having a sweet smell coming out of the vents and the passenger side rug is wet. So im guessing its the heater core. I was gonna ask if i have to pull the dash to replace the heater core and was wondering if anyone else had a 17? or are all the 4th gen the same process? Also would it be worth replacing anything else while i have the dash out? everything seems to be working but the heater core. If anyone could help me out that would be awsome! Thanks.

    • @MotorCityMechanic
      @MotorCityMechanic  Před 4 lety +3

      Personally I wouldnt replace everything....If it has dual temp controls then maybe I would replace the door actuator on the back side thats against the fire wall and only with an OEM mopar replacement part......not anything aftermarket. Otherwise thats about it other then the heater core. Thanks for the question and make sure to subscribe,.

    David, would it be possible to get at the screens that are in the door vents behind the dash without pulling the entire dash?
    I have a 2012 ram 2500 6.7l g56 truck. I just had the AC system checked by myself and instructor at the school I'm at and it's not blowing very hard out the dash vents and still let's air past to the floor. None of the doors are broken but just wondering if I could cut those white vent screens out and get more air flow without pulling the entire dash

    • @MotorCityMechanic
      @MotorCityMechanic  Před 5 lety

      The screens wont be the cause for that. To be honest there really arent any screens that can cause any blockage. The most common issue is the evaporator becoming covered in dirt from driving down dirt roads or working in dusty areas. I have seen that cause the lack of air flow.....not a screen. I have also see people how like to ride with their long haired dogs cause the same issue but with hair.

      @@MotorCityMechanic can I use compressed air to clean the evaporator off

    • @MotorCityMechanic
      @MotorCityMechanic  Před 5 lety

      @@tonyturner779 There really is no real access to get up in there. You can try once you remove the blower motor resistor but typically its caked up on the evaporator and hard to get off. No harm in trying. If you blow to hard you can distort the fins and cause even more blockage.

Can I just disconnect the recirculation door actuator with the door in the open position and leave it like that?
