You are my FAVORITE to watch for your "how to" videos because you explain everything in detail so we can understand, and you don't use a lot of very pricey machines that only the pros have. Never understood when a woodworker fired up his CNC machine and explained how to do something. Thanks for that!

I also love that fact that you offer your well designed build plans for free. It is truly one of the things that sets you apart from the many others. Would I pay $3 - $5 for your plans? Probably. Depends on the complexity and creativity of the build. But I hope you think hard about it before making that decision. Thanks for being part of my woodworking life and thanks for the terrific videos. Way to go on the 100,00 subscribers. I'm a yes on the hat and yes on t-shirts. Thanks to you I have two mobile work benches that are "Rock Solid". Would love to see a video on utilizing the bottom space on the work benches better. Maybe build drawers on one half and shelves on the other have. More space for storing tools and supplies. Keep up the good work and you'll be at 500,00 subscribers in no time.

I think upgrading your channel is just the way it works. While I appreciate your building guides and plans I can’t afford to pay another monthly subscription for anything. But I enjoy channel. Good luck on your future builds.

Congrats on the milestone. I think charging for your plans is the next logical step. It takes a lot of work to produce videos of your projects, and then to create the plans, and we shouldn't expect them to be free. It doesn't sound like you're trying to make a killing, the prices you mentioned are more than reasonable. I like that you use what seems to be an engineering-based approach to your designs to result in, as you say, "rock solid" results (I think you mentioned you have an engineering background). Oh, and I didn't mind the music, especially in segments where you fast-forwarded to repeat a bunch of steps. 🙂 Oh, one other thing - someone else commented, and I agree, that beginning to charge (even though you should) is a funny way to thank the subscribers that enabled you reach the milestone. 🤔
I subscribed to your channel because it’s great to see an American building and showing their talents. Also almost all the channels I subscribe to do exactly what you are wondering about. They sell merchandise and, yes, people do buy it. Even those who have a million subscribers. Did you finish the upper-level storage section? And congratulations on reaching 100k!

Congratulations on 100k. Other content creators will have a giveaway to thank the subscribers that got him to 100k. You on the other hand choose to start selling your plans and merch. I think you should sell your plans. You worked hard to develop them. But that is a heck of a way to thank your subscribers...

Congratulations on getting your 100k it is well deserved.
Plans, i have had a few of your free plans but if you want to start putting a price on them then i say 'why not', as you say you have worked hard to do the build, film and also the plans as well, so putting a few quid on some plans is no problem to me.
Merch, i think it's a great idea go for it obviously the more you sell the more you make, caps and t-shirts with the odd mug (the drinking kind), also stickers either charge or free, maybe some sweatshirts as long as there are various designs.
Patreon, i don't disagree with people who set up Patreon as i have said before i think for the work you put in to do these videos, it's well deserved so why not? you put enough into it so why not get some back. I don't give on Patreon as if i did i would have to get a bank loan as i would have to do the same for all the other people i subscribe to, however if they had plans for sale for whatever amount charged, then maybe i buy it and that's my giving. I think that you should post videos when you're ready to post them. Don't get sucked into schedules or self imposed restrictions that will take the joy out of what you're doing.

Yes to merch! Yes to charging for plans (you’ve been giving away free long enough for all the time, cost and work you put in, and those prices are still a great value!). Yes to Patreon. As far as putting out videos quicker, I’m sure much of your audience would love that. As someone who burned out from working a full-time job, part-time job, weekly ministry, home owner, being married and then adding kiddos and not slowing down much, maybe hold that idea loosely! 😊
Congratulations! Long time viewer, love your videos. Don’t change what you’re doing, one of the reasons I love the content is how approachable everything you do is. I appreciate the logic behind the builds, the I assume engineering background you bring to things, and the explanation you give for why you are doing what you are doing. I am okay with the cadence of videos, would prefer high quality content versus more videos, and a constant reminders about merch, patreon, or sponsors.

It sure is ok to charge a little bit for your plans, it’s a lot of work and time you put into them.

I am going to be honest. I’m a little disappointed in the announcement about selling plans. That doesn’t mean I don’t understand and I don’t think you should. It just means I was excited that you kept offering free plans. Now if you keep them low enough in price, then it isn’t a big deal. I’ve seen some people charge way more than I think they should.
In fact I discovered your channel because of your modular workbenches. I found someone else’s on YT. I paid for their plans and I was disappointed in them. Then I found yours and they were free and the plans were way better. Obviously, it makes sense that you would charge because of how good and how detailed they are. You do what you need to do is all I will say because I know time is money and your plans are better than many out there.
As for merch. I would be interested in the BMB shirt you have on like this video. Being in SE MN, I’ll gladly represent your brand.

Congrats! I have to be honest with you though, I think you can get away with charging more than $1-$3 for your build plans. I know a lot of work and material goes into it, and your plans are as good or on par with other channels
