I was a victim of domestic abuse for years.. He stabbed me in the leg (not bad only need a few stitches) tried to hang me. Drove car at me. Glassed me.. Fractured every bone on my face (not at the same time)... And... He never once got a prison sentence... He got 4 months suspended.. Because he works and apparently him keeping his job was more important.. What did they do for me.. Force me to move area.. That's it... I'm sorry but some of the police who deal with this just don't care... They are not all like these police officers....

your absolutely right! in my state(Maine) 50% of homicides are DV related. LE here could learn from these guys.

Handcuffing position is a choice for the officer, if at all. Some people I've simply not had to handcuff

A lot of comments about men hitting women what should happen to them. However its very different when its a woman hitting a man "he should man up" etc
If she hits you like a man (closed fist, painful and multiple times), she gonna get treated like a man.

Domestic abuse is NOT a gendered issue.
All forms of domestic abuse is wrong but it works both ways plenty of women abuse their partners too

I don't want to like because it seems wrong to like that you went through that , but far too many men get lost in all of this. I'm glad she got done. I'm a woman & I've seen women scratch, bite, punch etc & expect to get away with it & not enough services for men too!
