More or less. It's a solid lager and it's very well made but it's still flat in mouth. If you compare this to supermarket lager it's probably a good one to go.. But really nothing special.
For me Helles is nice beer when the Weather is warm, but does not have a solid hops profile. A proper Czech pilsner is much more balanced and is good for all seasons and has higher natural IBU, which I like.
Generally yes because it is a bright/light/pale lager, which is what a helles lager is. That said, Paulaner also sells an explicitly labeled Münchner Helles Lager here in the US. Does that mean that it's even lighter than what the Münchner Original Lager that we have here, or is it just a relabelling of the same thing, I don't know because I haven't tried it yet.
Come on Munich lagers are definitely not dark at all. Weak! Generic?! Lol Jesus tell me you don’t know shit about beer without telling me you don’t know shit about beer. Absolute joke of a review.
Other German lagers make paulaner taste like tennents and the fact ur drinking this out a can just shows u don’t have a clue about beer so u might aswell just delete ur page
The Gold Standard of all Lagers.

So I guess my question would be, if this is a middle of the road lager, what would be tops on the list?
Great German lager beer excellent
Its a helles, its good. Other top ones are Lowenbrau and Augustiener
Simply one if not the best
having one now......first impression is........love at first taste!!!!!!!!!!!!
Personally I like Helles lagers a bit more than German/Bohemian pilsner lagers
It's a mood thing for me .... I can get down equally with both but lean one way or the other depending if I was certain things to pop.

Current favorite comment of the year … I appreciate your love ❤️ ❤️❤️
lager has its time and place, but to me lager will always be lager. Some are crisper than others, but all boring. ;P
I would never say boring ... simple maybe, but simple can be a good thing and not be boring, at least for me.
