Discovered Paulaner when I was staying in Trittenheim, Germany. Found it in the Piesport Edika. I am from Texas, so Shiner Bock was the only non-Pils I drank. Paulaner converted me completely. I'll always be sentimental...
I get banana pudding and Vanilla on the nose with a slight subtle touch of spicy character. Flavor is smooth, creamy and fluffy. Great wheat characters without being too grainy. I think this might be the best example of what a hefeweizen should be. I've brewed a lot of hefeweizen beers and I can't make em this good
Totally agree. Can’t drink the crappy commercial stuff after touching this. 😆 crafty is the way to go. Worth the slight price upgrades. Germany 🇩🇪 makes a damn good 🍺 Belgium 🇧🇪 is pretty sick too 🍻
I think that's one of those big differences between American wheat ales and German wheat ales, where the American versions are far more wheat driven, while the German versions are more geared towards yeast. That's been my experience anyway. Oddly enough, these are a Euro and change in most supermarkets here, and I haven't had one in ages either. I prefer Weihenstephan myself.
The bar I work at switched from Maisels Weisse to this. It was a good choice, but not as good as the choice that was made to switch from Birburger Pils to Hacker-Pschorr Hell. Oh god that's a good Helles.
This style of beer really requires the 'right' glassware because you want to get all the sediment(yeast) at the bottom of the can, which requires a swirl, for optimum flavour - "right glass be damned" - I beg to differ. Cheers
One of my favorite beers of all time!
Super crusher status!

Sounds like i need to do some more classic, maybe a side by side or two!
This beer is awesome
I hate to say it, slight clove notes on the end.
What wheat beers 🍺 make you go gaga?
Saw a box of 24 bottles at my local imports store and grabbed it without much hesitation

I’m getting a wine flavor off this beer, is this normal??
Personally I’ve never gotten a wine/vineous thing off of wheats, I have had off flavors of Acetaldehyde (green apple) that can kind of be similar
@@massivebeers thanks for the reply. Yeah to me it’s very off putting. Not used to this style at all though.
Beer for breakfast
It's whats for dinner
A beer should NEVER taste good, that's why i drink busch because i like pain.
