    Good to see that Hooligan isn't shy to point out bad beers. Some reviewers try too hard to be everybody's friend, but not here.

    What distinguishes the so called Bier Hooligan is his depth and experience of travel throughout Europe. The man has a vision and a respect for die alte breweries...he speaks to my heart...or liver...

    In Munich it is mostly 1/2 liter glasses, in Berlin 1/3 liter glasses is quite popular. In Cologne they served thier famous Kølsch bier in 0.2 liter glasses, which I did NOT (the bier...) like at all.

    This is one of my favourite beers. 12 500ml bottles for 20 quid at my local wine merchant. You know what your getting with beers like that, hence the fact that it has such heritage, the Germans won't drink crap. Totally agree with your Hipster snobbery thoughts. Paulaner also brew a Weizen which is excellent also. keep up the good work sir, your videos are great. Cheers.

    British lager has a long way to go to beat German lager and beer. Taste this in Munich, Coln, Berlin and you will know they got it just right. Especially with a pork knuckle saurkraut or maybe blood sausage. Heaven. And the 0.3l glasses are great because theyre refilled as soon as theyre empty and works on a trust system which just wouldnt work in the uk. They get a lot right in germany

      The Bier Hooligan I loved the Paulaner Weissbier on tap in Munich personally and I had tried near enough every single different one I could there. They’re all great but can’t understand the criticism Paulaner gets myself!

    I agree with you , in Romania almost every restaurant or club or bar or even cinema serves shit beer and it ruins the experience for me. Many times I have ordered food just so I can eat at home drinking something else than a shit macrolager that tastes like beer flavored tap water.

    This is one of the best lagers I've had , in the top 3 along with Samuel Adams lager and a hoppy lager from The Crafty Brewing from Lidl

      Both Augustiner and Ayinger make better Helles beer than Paulaner. Augustiner make a bier called Edelstoff which is even better than their Helles bier. The October fest is a waste of time. Too much people, too much noise and very very expensive. Hotels and flights are usually 3-4 times more than normal - and Munich is a very expensive city. Go to Czech - even better bier and much much cheaper

    Or better buy it at Majestic Wine for £1.75 , since they sell it per pack of 12 bottles for £21.

    You might be right about Fosters and piss. Word is here in the states is Fosters was not even drunk in Australia.

      @@TheBierHooligan Stella Artois (not a bad beer if nothing else is available at the restaurant) must be similar. It is now taken over as the non thinking import for people here. That used to be reserved for Heneiken.

    • @JohnSmith-hk1lx
      @JohnSmith-hk1lx Před 3 lety +1

      I think this is more like a popular view from the "bier-snobs". I had Fosters fresh from barrels and it was excellent. But if you buy it in a pub in London it is usually not specially good. And it is very often only 3.9%. Het the export version which is stronger and have more taste. The snobs by the way, will not survive a blind-test
