      Thank you! I am happy about that as well 😊 i wanted to match the brown in the stock. I actually did that 6-7 years ago and it was a very quick thing.

    Nice painting! However...step#1...remove the stock from the rifle!...(preferably with the proper tools, avoid kitchen utensils)...step#2 thoroughly scrub with soap and water before alcohol. Step#3 if the stock is plastic or composite,then you should use an adhesion promoter before painting....not trying to be too critical, just friendly tips. BTW how are the adjustments on the scope working after the painting? Just curious because I can see potential problems with that😮

      Thank you! You're not being critical, I welcome all tips.
      I definitely did not want to take the rifle apart - and the kitchen utensil was just to remove the scope ring lol. Couldn't find the screw driver, but I promise, I have lots of tools lol.
      I thought about the soap and water, but thought the alcohol would be enough. Will do it that way next time.
      I did think about using a primer, but decided against it. I'll have to rethink that as well.
      The scope dials and adjustments work fine, they didn't get stuck. The pain was actually very light on the scope and I made sure I turned them.
      The scope was already off the rifle so it would need to be sighted in anyways.
      Thank you so much!!!

      @Huntress308 I'm not referring to "primer" in the regular context. Adhesion promoters are necessary when painting plastics. Most paint won't bond to most types of plastic unless they were specifically designed to. Although products like Krylon and Rust-Oleum claim to do so, it's just not true! What adhesion promoters do is actually penetrate the surface of the plastic and allow the paint to adhere to the plastic. I am in the automotive paint industry, and we must use it whenever painting any plastic/vinyl or fiberglass parts...adhesion promoter is a clear product, and not visible after it dries...once again...nice work !!!

    holyshit you painted the inside of your scope rings? 🤣 talk about not knowin what youre doing.

    • @Huntress308
      @Huntress308  Před 9 měsíci

      Why?

    • @MyLittleMonsters
      @MyLittleMonsters Před 9 měsíci

      @@Huntress308 because scope rings are precision machined to specific tolerances, to the point people used to hand lap them {and probably still do). You're building up material on that surface so not only are you possibly making those rings "untrue" but you're also most likely putting extra torq pressure on the scope tube.

    • @Huntress308
      @Huntress308  Před 9 měsíci +1

      @@MyLittleMonsters well, those scope rings might need to be changed out anyways because they were loose for the scope. The scope was already off, had different rings on it, removed those and left the ones on for the gun. And yes, I painted those.
      So they will either need some kind of padding, if that would work, or they need to be changed.
      But I appreciate the advice, I didn't know this.
      And by the way I never said I knew what I was doing 😆 I said I'm going to paint it, here's how I do it and here's my advice 😆😉🤣😆
