  • In this video I show you how to use spray paint to camouflage your rifle and scope to match it. I also paint another scope with very different techniques.
I'm using black and dark gray spray paint to camo paint the rifle with the matching scope.
I'm using plants and a net from an onion bag (like I often do), but I'm also using a sponge to touch up certain areas, to hide some mistakes and to fill in some other areas.
I'm also painting another scope for a different rifle, I'm using black, dark gray and light gray. I'm only using a sponge here to get a more subtle look. Not sure what rifle it will go on, so I wanted to make sure it will match no matter what.
I really enjoy using the sponge, I redid my scope using just a sponge but this is the first time I incorporated it with plants and the net. I like hose it's so versatile and you can create your own custom color. Spray paint colors are kinda limited so with this, you have unlimited possibilities.

Great video they turned out great. I really like the use of the sponge to blend and fix splatter. When I painted my AR10 I also used an Air brush but used Dura Coat paint from Midway USA made for guns. It’s really tough paint but you have to mix the paint and hardener together and I believe you only have a day or two to use it up. You can mix small amounts though. The airbrush worked very good because you can adjust it so more air comes out with less paint that lets you control it a lot easier than a spray can just my opinion though. I also got a regulator with a water trap from Harbor freight to use inline with the airbrush.
You do great work and very good videos I learn something every time I watch them.

Thank you so much!! That means a lot!!
I have a few of questions about the airbrush.
The paint I bought is acrylic, and it's water based. I researched and that's the only kinda paint they talked about. Will that work?
Another question: once I'm done with the airbrush, can I still use the clear spray paint as the tip coat to protect it? It needs to go on especially since the paint is water based. But will there be any interaction between the two types of paint?
And my last question, to do the base layer of black, can I use spray paint or does it need to be the airbrush paint?
