The audience actually liked it, this version makes it sound like a disaster but I actually heard to the full broadcast and it was good (considering this was the first time for two of them)

What’s hilarious? Is the fact, that Hammond said 2006 but this particular video was published on CZcams in 2008. So, it must have had been filmed in 2006, which is 2 years before it ever went on CZcams. Not to say, that it hadn’t aired on television in 2006, but I’m not sure. But, either way still I thought that was a bit baffling as to why he said 2006 when clearly in the description box it says on every video when it was published. And this video was uploaded in 2008.

Makes sense, Hammond had actually had a fair bit of radio experience earlier in his career.
Funniest thing about this is, in another life, a chat show skit between the 3 of them, would be exactly the gig they’ve have had on the BBC.
I wonder how close we may have come to that. If Hammond stayed or got back into radio and the others were added in a similar fashion to how top gear was set up to begin with.

I just listened to the whole radio show and it was the best radio show i've ever heard.
There was some but it was actually pretty good, alot better than they made it out as.
But how?
There were only two callers that was unhappy the rest called in to tell them how they enjoyed the show and preffered the top gear crew rather than the usual radio presenters

Looks like an EG Civic coupe but the front bumper is throwing me off and the back looks far too flat, so I’m honestly not sure. Definitely something 90s and Japanese, but unfortunately a lot of those kind of look the same just from the side.

My dad remembers listening to this and he said he was in fits of laughter the whole time. Said it was one of the best drives of his life
there are clips of the entire show online, they actually got copious amounts of praise from live on air callers saying how good they were and how nice the change was from the regular presenters. way more compliments than complaints. top gear and the top gear boys rock!

Few years ago i downloaded this very radio broadcast and listened to it for a few days on my daily commute, and it made commuting so entertaining for me. The chemistry these guys have is really once in a lifetime! Commuting was a breeze listening to these guys.

Vinyl is not on the rise, it may be rising with collectors but thats it, it will never come back beyond a "Special" group of people u think people who were born in 2000 listen to records? it is on the decline if anything.

It's strange seeing all those old cars filling the roads and it's only 10 years ago. Also cars in the video with 55 plates would have been almost brand new then but are old bangers now.
It was only a couple of years before the scrappage scheme which massacred 70s, 80s and 90s cars in particular

Top Gear was a staple part of my childhood. I must've watched every single episode 100s of times; series 2 all the way through to series 22. I still maintain, though, that the absolute peak started around series 5 right the way through to series 14. 2004-2010. They were the absolute golden years. Classic. (This was series 8 - 2006!)
