The show made out their radio program to be a complete disaster. I've listened to the entire thing, and they did a decent enough job.
i thought that at first but then listened again lol. Was just jingles and the occasional chat 😭

A recording of the entire show is available somewhere online. I listened to it some time ago; it's brilliant. For example, when the man of anger is bitching at James about cricket and Richard cuts him off with the jingle, in reality that was intentional. Richard tells the guy that if he keeps yelling at his friend, he'll jingle over him all night. It was awesome.

If anyone is wondering, the song at the end is Richard Harris-MacArthur Park. I personally think this whole Top Gear on the radio thing was a masterpiece. Complete with Jeremy being absolutely useless with his traffic reports. They are so good at butchering things they aren't used to. Even Hammond was hilarious and he was a dj! This needs to happen again on camera and hopefully this time Mrs. Smith won't be listening. I absolutely adore these three and if they had their own radio station I would be ok with that (as long as there can be some way I can hear it over here in the US). Keep up the good work Top Gear! We love you!!
Haha to be fair, he did give personal assistance to two people in the full program, had custom traffic advice for them, he just kept losing signal

Bet it's the most memorable radio programme for the people of West Sussex. It's seems more interesting than listening to Radio 1

Top Gear wasn't that famous in 2006, so maybe she didn't know them
Unfortunately, you'll find there are many more people like her, who won't accept anything even minutely out of place.
She was pretty much the only one the whole radio show lol. Most loved it and found it hilarious. The full show is up here on CZcams. Worth a listen. (skips the music)

I remembered watching this episode and i laughed so much that i nearly had tears coming down my face due to laughing that much. clarkson with his records that just set it off for me!

as a person who's worked in radio, I was howling with laughter as just how much they cocked this one up. and poor Richard, who had done so previously and should have done a bit better, but he was a ringmaster trying to control out of hand animals. LOL. the worried looks from the radio staff, though, are absolutely priceless...no matter how intentional this was or not.
