- I won't be winning any photography competitions with this footage, but just thought I'd share this first test of my new Nikon P1000 bridge camera. This is what a 125x optical zoom can do.

Great for wedding photography when you're not invited
Hahahahha
👌
Brilliant!!!
Nice one !
Best comment ever 👍👍
2:02 when you re just jumping and thinking noone can see you HAHAHA
He was posing for photos. If only he knew...
Dogodine u Prizrenu
The zoom is so hardcore that the atmospheric light distortion is significant.
We need this one for Area 51
🤣
🤣
there would be no point cause above ground isnt the main Area 51 facility its actually underground where they keep the more classified stuff, Above ground is just the airplane hangers and planes

@@ZOMBIEEZ yes👍

What kind of incredible zooming. What a technology. Great thanks for this video
Pity is dubbed the ‘flat earthers camera of choice’ because they say they see too far for a curved earth.
Very interesting. Like every terrestrial telescope, image quality at the extremes is mostly limited by the seeing conditions (air at different temperatures in front of the lens).
Thanks for watching.
It's because of digital zoom
@@d.s1014 the camera stops zooming in for a split second when it reaches its maximum optical zoom, and goes until digital, the majority of the zooming process is optical. But in a couple mountainous clips here, there was a decent amount of atmospheric interference. I actually pre ordered this camera.
@@CrypticRite Did the Camera turn out to be as good as you had hoped?
At 2:21 look at the rock formation at left. It looks like a human looking down.
2:19 look at the head shaped outcrop on the left side of the peak, looks like President Nixon.
Thanks for watching.
H. tiler - lol, I was just fixing to post the same comment!
It's President Nikon
Saw that too

We have the 900 which is brilliant but this is amazing. Well done mate.
Thanks Kev, yes it's some camera, looking forward to taking proper pictures with it.
@@TheHoveringScotsman Yes. You did the camera justice.
The Hovering Scotsman hey man, there’s a company on Facebook using your videos claiming it’s from their product. I hope you got some compensation. facebook.com/112564673830363/posts/136678484752315/?vh=e&d=n
This person jumping in 2:18 have me so nervous.🤣🤣🤣
Note to self:
When using maximum zoom always use a tripod.
i believe he's using one, just that the breeze is blowing hard
Even with a tripod this camera moves. It’s front heavy.
It is the focusing ability on that bird for me!
So this is how it feels like to have eagle eyes
Thanks for watching.
Gladiator yeah
Oh yes !!!
Except an eagle’s eyes are SHARP!
ok. It's def worth it's price and I will be buying one. That 2nd clip with the 2 mile zoom on the building actually scared me a little :o
Great pictures well done amazing zoom thanks for sharing cheers
Early days but thanks for the comment.
Great 📷 ...👍
I really enjoyed this video.....a big thanks for the photographer ❤️❤️❤️

5:55 !!!
THAT ZOOM IS ICREADIBLE !! THIS MAY BE THE BEST CAMERA WITH ZOOM FOR ITS PRICE !GREAT VID ! 👍
Holy crap your right that snippet there was incredible to the Cruze ships from the grassy area
Nah I think the sx60 hs or the 70hs has better image quality at half the price and that's 65x optical.

Do you need attachments for this or does this zoom come stock built into this camera? Beautiful work thank you for your time
Great great video..!
I have 2 questions, 1) how did you reduce the camera shake when using the full zoom.
2) Is Nicon going to upgrade P1000 and launch a latest version?

Outstanding!👍
I love how this video begins with a seagull and ends with a seagull.
Thanks for uploading
Wooooow, amazing, I need to buy this nicon
Straight up solid zoom test.
No long analysises and chit-chat stuff 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Thanks for watching.
Does it have stability issue as the image shakes a lot on zooming?
Is it hand held or tripod mounted...?
Will be there shake in footage while zooming if camera is mounted on a tripod
I looks like for those recordings of people on peaks, digital zoom was overlapped over optical zoom.
Or it was just the flow of the air around ?
Tremendous zoom! There some manual mode to film recorder? like brightness, exposition...
This is cool, nice work👏👏
Thanks for watching.
Thank you thank you thank you and thank you for your video its great. Always wanted someone to just to put the zoom range in feet and inches (miles in this case) so it makes it easier to see what the camera can do and not all this 25-600mm which makes no sense to me yet!
What if we combinly use Celestron skymaster 15x 70 and Nikon p1000
mind boggling, must get one
Love it matey, great work! Seagulls always seem to be willing models for P1000 videos and photos :D Loved all the people doing jumping Jacks for photos :P
Cheers, watched plenty of your videos while waiting for my camera to arrive.
@@TheHoveringScotsman I provide a Master Class in what not do with the P1000 :D
Wind had to be awful.
I take it on those 4 mile shots, you are going past the 3000mm and into the digital zoom ?
What a wonderful piece of engineering! The PQ is not going to win any award but just imagine the pricey equipment one would have to lug in order to improve the PQ to 35mm level.
is this out of the box or do you need to buy a seperate lens for this ?
Love this camera 📷 😍
Is there anything added to the camera? Or is it not tampered with
Wow that's one Great camera!
Thanks for watching.
I love mine. Totally awesome camera.
Glad to hear it.
This is why I don’t believe they can’t get a good footage of a ufo lol 🛸
And in calm weather it was impossible to do all this?
I think I'm sold on this camera. So versatile, too. Just the price that's the sticking point.
It's worth the £650ish asking price.
Wowwwww ! so good
Bought the camera yesterday. Couldn't get clear zoom without tripod. Should receive it later this week

How did you do the audio of them talking from so far away? Did you add it to the video later when editing it? Or, did you have an external mic attached? What kind?
The talking is from 2 people behind me as I was filming.
Im mind blown by the amount of stupidity you have, this is actually a compliment because i have never encountered such thing
This is the dumbest question EVER.
Well done on the camera with the zoom in and focus. You handled the wind well.
Thank you.
Incredible zoom. My camera has 40X, but the Nikon makes mine look like a toy. Love to try taking photos of Jupiter, Saturn, Mars and Venus. Maybe you could try making a video of that next?
Waiting to see a shot of you zooming into someone away in the distance, only to discover they are zoomed in on you with their P1000.

New zoom tests ? Have a zoom into West , 80°, a bit right of Pleiades , from 22'00 to 23'00 , crowded sky over there , ran dom it !
I want that camera!
Very Nice!
What's the cheapest I could go to get this level of zoom from a telescope or binoculars?
I just paid $60 for a used telescope that has this range of zoom. But it's not easy or quick to use, and taking pictures through the viewfinder is very difficult.
I have canon sx70 (super zoon). Do you think there is a big difference in between these two cameras? Which one is better for the quality pic while in fully zoomed in.
I think nikon p1000
@@withrafayet5555 why? I think the 60hs and the 70hs has the same zoom if not a little more.
Nice work. What tripod are you using as I’m struggling to find one that is stable at full zoom? Thanks
Thanks Mathew, its the Manfrotto 290 Light with Video Fluid Head, its a good compromise between sturdiness/lightweight and cost, I also use the ML-L7 remote control, this eliminates shaking from pressing buttons on the camera itself.
The Hovering Scotsman Yeah I have the remote for that reason. Thanks very much for the info & I shall look forward to your future posts 👍🏼

Awesome...
The P1000 is an amazing camera with a lot of nice features for a consumer camera. The 125x is the zoom range of the lens. The actual magnification of objects is more like 60x - really, really good for camera. I wonder what the next generation of this camera series will bring us?
Thanks for watching.
So the sx60 and 70 zooms at 65 optical, your saying this is less zoom?
@@allanallen1835 I'm not sure about what you are asking. The Canon sx70 lens has a 65x zoom RANGE since the FL can range from 3.8 to 247 mm. The zoom range has little to do with the magnification of the image (naked eye equivalent size).
Weirdly, I just measured this in photoshop on the building. I measured the central part of the building at 21 pixels wide at the low end of the zoom range, and 1764 pixels at the longest end of the optical zoom at the point the lens motor stopped whirring (i.e. before he digitally zoomed). This comes out at around 84x magnification, which is longer than the usual "focal length divided by 50" rule gives.
que significa 2 miles , 3 miles etc.?
What were your settings for each?
All the same, Auto settings.
Yes
I want to have kind of this super zoom camera 😁
Somewhere out 4 miles away, There’s a guy spying on my using a $1000 camera. I’m gonna give him a show.
AWESOME
Thanks for watching.
Know this area well. Used to go
up the cobbler and down the other end on a mountain bike. ThT must be some size of zoom lens.
It's a big lens when fully extended, hence the shakes at full zoom, need to solve this somehow.
The Hovering Scotsman put it on a tripod
It already is.
Turn off the stabilization mode feature when it is on a tripod, if it was left on. It is for hand held operation. See if it makes any difference. The feature keeps it working within the camera even if it is on a stable platform and can work against you if the camera is already not moving. But turning it off for tripods does not account for the wind moving everything.
It is hard to beat wind that moves the whole rig no matter what, because you are zooming in on something tiny from very far away. Try to track stars that move out of frame within seconds from the stars rotation above us.
It is hard to keep it all still when focusing in on a tiny dot, especially with the wind blowing. I say you did very well.
For fun, you can test leaving stabilization enabled and then turning stabilization off when on a tripod on a windy day to compare results. Let's see what happens.
Being inside a building stops the wind problem, but it's more fun being outside on top of a mountain capturing wildlife.
What about some sort of portable wind barriers? Do they make such a thing?
The lighting condition will make much difference. May be even better when the ambient temperature is at the low side as well.
Thanks for watching.
