- Let's see what's inside this virtual mystery box of zoom videos and pictures taken with the Nikon COOLPIX P1000 camera! This variety pack of Nikon P1000 zoom tests span the land to the sea to the sky! And shows what a super zoom camera can do! Note that I applied a little bit of image stabilization to some of the video clips in postproduction and replaced some of the audio.
Thanks for watching!

superbness as always you certainly have the understanding to capture the fulgurous vids & shots thank you very :
And as always, thanks for the feedback!
indeed Thank very :@@OneLensTwo
Would love to see more plane videos. Especially on the windows or engines.
Thanks for the feedback! I'll keep an eye out for some good plane shots. I like them too.
I have this camera, and it is amazing! It is more a telescope that takes photos.
Yes, it's like carrying a telescope in your hand! Amazing!
Thanks John 🙏👌Great video!! Loved when saw the hikers on the mountain. I hope I can make a new superzoom-video some day. Its been a long time since last now. Sorry for that 😶
Thanks @letszoomit365 ! I can relate to the challenges of posting videos frequently. But when you do we'll watch them!
@@OneLensTwo I think I got something interesting in front of the moon yesterday. I will have a look at it today. I really say I hope it was a plane but I am not sure yet (It looked quite far away when I saw it live on the screen then I was so tired that I decided to wait until today to check it 🤣👌
I'm going to buy a P1000 next at the moment I'm collecting my fossil air pen equipment to clean up fossils in hard matrix.
But this is quite some camera.
Great video and narrator
Thanks for the feedback on the videos - I really appreciate it! Yes, the P1000 is a great camera. I hope that you get yours soon!
Great video. I had the p900 for a while but it got just too bulky and unwieldy to carry around everywhere. Settled for a canon sx70 instead with a 65x optical zoom.
Thanks for the feedback - I really appreciate it! I also have a P900 and the P1000 is even bigger!
Love these zoom vids! I've wanted a P1000 for years, finally got one on the way! Can you tell me what equipment you're using? tripod, tripod head etc. Thanks in advance.
I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying the videos! You'll want to get a very sturdy tripod with at fluid head or perhaps a gimbal. My tripod is sturdy but nothing special. The secret is to get a mount that allows you to shift the camera's center of gravity over the tripod head when the lens is zoomed out. I use a custom mount that I made which I can show in a future video.
@@OneLensTwo The way you lock on to those high flying jets so smoothly is impressive. I've watched lots of other people try that and most of the time the jet is anywhere but in shot. Looking forward to the future video about your set up. I'll subscribe so I don't miss it.
That thing on the top is a copper lightning conductor...
I was wondering what that thing up there was! Thanks!
No doubt it is a great zooming camera but on 24mm actually you are pushing the object far and it seems to others as it is way too far but not in reality
Good point! Around 24mm is common on many mobile phone cameras which is what many people use to take pictures, so my thought is that it's a good frame of reference. I think I'll mention that in my next video. Thanks @ringo359!
Wonderful but how does it perform in nature in dawn and dusk?
Thanks! I really appreciate the feedback. These super telephoto cameras need a lot of light so probably not the best choice in lower light situations. I've not been on many dawn or dusk photo shoots, but now that you mention it, I think I'll try it!
that was wild :)))))), im using p950 but can shot to the moon, even the milky way too ( milky way with p950 is not so impress i think) , but can you guve me the detail of tripod you use for p1000 pls
I'm still using my old Fancier FC-02H tripod. I've been looking for a new one though. The key thing is to buy or make a plate/mount that shifts the camera's center of gravity over the center of the tripod head when it's significantly zoomed. I just made my own and it made a big difference in stability. The P950 is a great camera - enjoy!
Hi, what would be the maximum "lose-less" zoom at 1080? I mean, the 4k is cropped, right? But is the 1080 not cropped, meaning it uses full sensor and make a 1080 video, does zooming enough to a " actual cropped 1080 size" will be still "optical zoom" without loosing details, 1 pixel on the camera matching the pixel om the video or would be a digital cropped from the imagen of the full sensor, loosing details, i hope you can understand what I'm saying 😂, if you can shoot at a cropped 1080 the magnification would be a lot more than 10000x right??
I'm not sure. I've observed that 1080p with vibration reduction turned on crops the video image so that there are some extra pixels available to smooth the motion. Vibration reduction is not available for 4K video on the P1000 so no cropping there.
Hi, I'm going to buy this camera soon, is there a setting for auto Iso please?
Yes there is! Auto and fixed range auto.
I love having the P1000 but im highly conscious when im taking photos in public places where there are buildings. I dont like thinking others might be thinking Im intruding on someones privacy by looking through windows.....im more interested in abstract things, action shots, wildlife....more interesting than what might be going on in a room lol.
Like Spiderman said, "With great power comes great responsibility". The P1000 certainly has great zoom power.
second that :
@@OneLensTwo
Where are you bro.please make daily zoom videos
I agree, I'm trying to get to at least weekly videos, but my darn regular job is getting in the way! :) Maybe I could post more videos but they would probably be much shorter. What are your thoughts about short zoom videos? Thanks for the feedback @nauman9639 !
be like nike just do it you have the knowledge :@@OneLensTwo
Are you shooting the planes with a tripod
Yes, I find it very hard to track a plane at focal lengths over 2000mm when the camera is handheld.
@@OneLensTwo yeah just had a tripod delivered so I will try the camera out again .
Vs p950
The P950 is also an excellent super zoom camera. A little less reach, but lighter and smaller!
I think I'm gonna a camera
I really enjoy using my P1000 so have fun if you get one!
Imagine if we discover the moon was really few hundred miles away along and nasa tech was crap
