- A review of the superzoom Nikon Coolpix P1000 with an emphasis on video, hidden features, tips and tricks, some funny zoom examples, and a social experiment thrown in as well!
If I could say something about this camera... this is truly everything you need to do quite everything. It's versatile and has tools for almost every situation. The short words would be fun and very practical. You can save thousands with this lenses
I can't remember the last time I've seen a camera review this well done. Thank you for having so much fun with this piece of equipment, it really breathes life into it!
Hi there ! Thank you so much ! I’m glad you appreciated the review !
This one is the most amazing and entertaining review of this camera I’ve seen so far. Great job and thanks a lot 👍
Thanks ! I appreciate that ! Glad you enjoyed
I have seen a lot of reviews about this camera, but yours is so different and entertaining! I know what some people say about the P1000's image quality but I still find it intriguing.Cheers!
Thanks so much I appreciate that ! I actually got used to the image quality and find it’s really fine in most applications ! Thanks again
Actually if you need better quality of a static picture of 3000mm, you probably better get it from a chopped photo of a 2160k video.
You can do that too for sure !
@@techtoremember8096 Add another "Patrick" thumbs up for this review! Very creative and fun! Now if we can just get Sponge Bob's best friend to give it a like! 😎
Haha. Yes. Where is SpongeBob when you need him? Thanks for the comment , Patrick !
One of the rare and thorough entertaining reviews. I own p1000 and can’t agree more to your views!!!!
Thank you ! And much appreciated
Watched the whole thing! One of the most thorough reviews I’ve seen on this camera. You’ll get to 1000 subscribers in no time. You earned a sub ☺️
Hey man ! Thanks so much ! Glad you made it to the end Thanks for the sub. Greatly appreciated !
@@techtoremember8096 As an astrophotographer, I'll just say that light pollution does not affect planetary images (like the moon or jupiter) at all
Brilliant review & approach to showing the features in a practical way, thank you! 💯
Thank you !
Great video!! Actually one of the better videos of this camera I’ve seen so far. Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much. I appreciate your comment !
What a great review of the features. Love the many practical examples. I’m sold on the camera and your channel. Many thanks
I appreciate that ! Thanks for watching
I own this camera, and as you stated in the beginning, it is the best camera ever made considering its versatility, Zoom, Macro, portrait, video, off camera flash. Still today I don't feel the need for another camera. It will rival any image as I just added Flash to manage its low ISO performance which is great till 1600. Thanks, Nikon. I have a studio at home, wildlife kit from Magmod and other diffusers and 3 Godox flash units. Manual and TTL.
I found honesty in your video!
Thank you so much for your comment. And I’m glad your loving your camera. I’m finding this common theme that many people are really enjoying their P1000!!
Thanks for the info, I just bought my friend's P1000. It came with a really nice heavy duty Tripod, three batteries, and two filters...all for $900 cash...with a two year extended added into the mix! I just had to get it, as my other camera is a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ70 wit a 60x optical zoom, and I really loved my Lumix...then I started using my friend's P1000, and since he wasn't really using it, we negotiated a price and now it is mine.
Oh wow ! You got a great deal. Hope you enjoy ! Thanks for watching !
Crazy zoom! Bought it for house hold plane spotting, being an aviation enthusiast. Great video!
Thanks so much !
also , i like how the way u entertaining ur reviews , not too serious, but also so fun , great , two thumbs up for u .

Greetings my friend. Thank you for your comment and I’m glad you love your camera. It’s certainly a great camera and so much fun ! Best regards
I was just minutes away from requesting you a full review and a soon test on Nikon p1000 and here it is
Perfect !! Hope you enjoy
Please don't change the way you review things. Finally someone giving a honest review. Only change for the better ofc :)
Thank you I will!
This video was so helpful , thank you🙂 . I am on a limited budget and have been mulling on buying a P1000 for a while now.
There is no way I can afford £2000 + and them some for a camera kit.
Your review was unbiased and excellent so now I have decided to get one as it definitely covers all my needs.
Yes it may be large but so is carrying a camera bag full of equipment when out and about . Having a camera that does all I require makes life easier .
🙂🇬🇧
Hi there ! I’m so glad the video helped you make a decision. Thanks for your comment and best of luck on the camera. I’ll be releasing some tutorial videos on the p950/p1000 which you may find helpful. Stay tuned !
@@techtoremember8096 Hi yes I found it very useful indeed. There is so much techi chat out there and it was nice to watch a video that explains things in straight forward way.
When paying out for an expensive bit of kit too much jargon just muddies the waters and makes it difficult to make a choice .
Thank you .
I have subscribed as well😉
Love the wildlife photography at 5:09
That's a cool review.... This cleared up most of my doubts about this camera.....I'm almost obliged to get this beast...
Hi there.! Thanks for your comment and I wish you luck with the camera should you decide to take the plunge
Great review and ways to show the camera features, quite funny to watch as well! 👍
Awesome ‘ thank you for the comment !
Really great review, you definitely deserve much more subs! Keep up the good work :).
Much appreciated. Thanks for the encouragement !!
Great review I just bought this camera and you shown me some tricks I did not know I could do thanks again.
Thank you ! Glad it can help. It’s a great camera. Enjoy
This was one of the best review ever!
Thank you !
This camera is nearing five years old and I just bought one! I've owned and sold every Canon SX-HS super zoom and currently own 2x60D's, 2x80Ds and a 90D. This is "thee" best solution to 4k recording plus the ability to zoom into the actual future! I would love to see what one could view on the ISS with this camera...
The ISS is not real
Great video and information, new sub! I've had this camera since last March and absolutely love it. The pros outweigh the cons, in my opinion. Though I haven't used it much for video, I've been very pleased with the photos. Thanks to the information you covered, I learned a few new things about using it for videos. 🙂
So glad to hear the video was helpful- yes the camera really is ultra cool and can do so many things ! Thanks for watching !!
how is it 2 years later?
@JamoRox75 still a unique camera !

That was the best review. Great work sir. I wish the sensor was a bit larger. But I think I can live with it. Definitely buying one. A new sub for sure.
Thank you ! Agreed on the small sensor but it’s a very well rounded camera all considered !Thanks for your comment -

thats the best review on my favorite camera which is not available in stock currently fr me to buy. well done
I appreciate that ! Yeah I noticed it’s out of stock. It’s probably a COVID supply issue I’m assuming so hopefully it won’t last too long Regards
@@techtoremember8096 or i hope they'll come up with another ipgraded version... maybe a P1100... haha
that's what i like about my p900, superzoom and good macro. may consider p950 or the next nikon superzoom. hopefully it has great ISO control like sony's.
Nice informative content on a camera I have my eye on. For the time being I've bought a 2nd hand Canon sx60 for just £200 which is a nice appetizer.
I've subscribed and hope you review the SX 60 for those of us unable to buy the Nikon just yet.
Good luck with the channel.
Thank you for your comment and subscribing. I actually had my eye on the Canon sx70 which I believe is the successor to the 60. Any reason you are looking at the 60 and not the 70?
best review on this camera!!! so funny!!!
Thank you !!
Very nice review!! Great work, well done. It's funny and that's often the clue :-) But the shirt that guy was wearing on the rooftop, I would have blurred that one unless it was wearing a text 'Unvaxxed..." shirt haha.
Haha. Good point. I thought of that. But. Hey. My audience can handle it ! Thanks for your comment and thanks for watching !
Amazing review.

Great video show. I am sold and will be looking to buy this camera!
Awesome ! Just have to wait until it’s in stock. Thanks for watching
Great video!
Thank you !!!
Great video ! Thanks. That pushed me over the edge. Will be buying a P1000 this weekend.
Thank you for your comment. I hope you can find one !!
@@techtoremember8096 I also really liked how you used a clip on mike for your remote recording. Would you mind telling me what brand you used, and what it records to? Thanks.
Hi. Sure- it’s an Olympus VP-10 recorder. I like it because it picks up clear sound and has a clip unlike most others. It records to internal memory so you have to sync up the sound later to the video !
@@techtoremember8096 Thanks again. And, you were right. I cannot find a P1000 anywhere in stock. I have one on backorder from Adarama.
Thanks again. I had to wait 4 months, but B&H finally got more P1000s in. I showed your video to a friend of mine, and he is getting one too. Nikon should pay you commission !
so cool to watch this, nice video
Thank you Sir!
Great review. Subscribed.
I’m so glad. Thank you !
Great video, great camera, i really want to buy this now
Thank you !
nice review
I heard plenty of folks writing negative reviews about that camera. It is a matter how well you make your adjustments. If you are using a 150-600 mm DSLR Nikon and you chose the wrong settings, you end up with poor quality photos.
Super zoom can be crucial especially for planespotting.
i had sony wx500 which is a compact superzoom. sold it away because photos are awful and i thought its due to the small sensor. im impressed with p1000 image quality
Amazing Video. You are so good with your words points and views to connect with my mind. Wish you successfull journey ahead.
Thanks so much ! Really appreciate your comment
I love the camera and the video
You are such an amazing person!

Very well done!
Thank you!
You convinced me that I absolutely want this camera in spite of some of its drawbacks.
Awesome ! I hope you enjoy it
hope one day i can buy this camera
What an amazing video! Now I really want a P1000 for wildlife and nature. I don't want to spend thousands on a gigantic heavy lens for mye a7r so this seems perfect. Thanks
Awesome! Thanks so much for the comment
I'm really interested in the scumbag capabilities of this camera. The other reviews don't really touch on this aspect. But you seem like the type of guy who would FULLY exploit it🤣. That alone deserves a sub!!
Not sure if that’s a compliment or insult but I’ll try and think positive ! Thanks for the sub
Good info🙂
I loved Thanks so much for shere whit us your Knowledge I was confused about to buy this camera but afther to whacht this video I sure I will buy it thanks New SUB
Thank you ! Glad it could help
It's beautiful
Good job!!
Thank you !!
The best review I've seen so far of this camera. Would you suggest purchasing the p1000 or the p950 . Thanks
That’s a great question. The 950 has the same guts as the 1000 but is significantly lighter. If you don’t mind giving up the 3000mm zoom then the 950 should be fine. If you’re using it for astrophotography then the 1000 is you’re better bet. Thanks for the compliment on the video !
Really I liked your video, you should produce more 😃
And I subscribed 👍
More on the way ! And thank you so much !!!
best reviews. from Belgium XD
Thank you so much !
U just earned a subscriber.
Thank you! And welcome aboard
The P1000 is one of the best cameras. It is a complete tool. The reason is simple, its extreme versatility.
She's not the best at anything but she can do everything pretty well. I repeat everything.
Do you want to photograph airplanes? Go ahead, do it.
Do you want to photograph the moon/planets? Go ahead, do it (I have seen the Saturn's rings with it).
Do you want to photograph birds? Go ahead, do it.
Do you want to photograph distant fauna? Go ahead, do it.
Do you want to photograph landscapes? Go ahead, do it.
Do you want to photograph faces? Go ahead, do it.
Do you want to photograph macro? Go ahead, do it. It is his specialty for me.
Do you want to make video of everything above 4k? Go ahead, do it.
And all this without the need to change objectives or machines.
you are outstanding thank you about time someone know the power of the p1000 :
Thank you !
@@techtoremember8096 very very welcome :
I had a P900
And replaced it with P1000 when the lens got damaged
Although it's a superior camera found it way too heavy and bulky especially when it's windy too hard to focus and hold steady
So i sold it and got another p900
@tech to remember - cool video man, really! Can you do a tutorial about the manual focus on this camera? I'm having trouble understanding the levels of it (probably others as well, amateurs at least)... Would appreciate it
Good idea ! Thanks for the suggestion.
What would hapen if a macrolens is put with an adapter ring, would it work ?
Hmm it accept filters like Nd Filters etc. I am not sure. If the lens you are talking about can be threaded to the lens and is designed to be used with a camera like this possibly but the Nikon does have a macro feature so you may not need it !
@@techtoremember8096 Oh, thanks.
COOL REVEIW.
😁😁😁😁
Thank you !
This is the first time I've watched one of your video's and it was a very well thought out and informative video.
I have two P900s and had a P1000. I sold the P1000 because of the weight and size but it's still a great camera!! I miss it at times and when I replace my P900 I may get the Nikon P950 or I might go back to a P1000.
Best of luck in your photography journey.
Duane
Hey thanks so much for the comment! I agree the p1000 is heavy to carry around. I will be getting a 950 when they are back in stock ! I will review that one too so please subscribe ! Best of luck
Don't think about p950 because p900 is better, p950 have touchscreen and weaker zoom, nothing special
@@kacpero2k498
Unfortunately I just had to send my one P900 into Nikon for impact damage. I'm hoping they can fix it. However in the past because of a lack of parts Nikon would offer a refurbished P950 for the price of repairing the P900 and then Nikon would keep the P900 for parts. My friend P900 couldn't be repaired so she got a refurbished P950 for $290 and does not like it compared to her P900. If that happens to me at least I still have another P900 to use. Best of luck! Duane
Your video was very informative and entertaining 👏 Just subbed
I'm curious what your opinion is of the p950 over the p1000
Hi! Thanks for the comment and sub- I really can’t wait to get my hands on a P950 when it becomes available again because you have just about all the benefits of the p1000 without the size and weight- If you are doing very serious birding or astrophotography however you may still want the extra 1000 mm reach of the P 1000
Thanks for such an informative video. Can you say something about your tripod mount? Was it stable at high magnifications? I had to go to an expensive video tripod, even then there is some difficulty with high magnification tracking.
There sure is. At the highest magnifications even a little wind can have an effect. The sturdier the tripod the better. Thanks for watching !
I am going on a trip to Alaska and instead of getting a 5lb telephoto lens, I've decided to get either the P1000 or Sony RX10 IV. I'm really torn and would love your opinion. I'll be taking photography of Wildlife but would only be able to use a tripod on the ship so being able to get sharp photos handheld is important. Also portrait quality. What do you think?
Hi there, if it were a choice between the 2 for a once in a lifetime trip, I'd choose the Sony because #1 it has the edge in picture quality..and #2 its much easier to carry around. Also low light as you can see is better on the Sony--Certainly, the zoom isn't as great as the P1000's but its really tough to get a sharp picture at the full end of the Nikon...--you also could consider the P950 if you must have a super long reach and with the 950, its way smaller and lighter than the P1000. But even with that, i would take the RX10Iv because it produces consistently beautiful pictures and I feel its not too heavy to lug around on a vacation. That's just my opinion. Hope it helps!
Very nice and informative video. Thank you for sharing.
I have a personal query. The focal length for bird photography set in this camera as 500mm. But it can be increased up to 2000mm. Not what is the best settings? Need to change this in certain cases? If yes when?
Thanks in advance.
Hi. Thank you for your comment. This is a personal choice. I would say to use the 2000mm when the birds are subjects are very far in the distance but if not so far ,then 500nm is better. Personally I like 500mm as it is easier to compose the shot
Good afternoon. I enjoyed your review of the P1000. I am looking for a good video camera to video my grandson's football games. I have looked at the Nikon 7500 DLSR. The only thing I am really concerned about is whether or not the LCD screen is easy to use when outside in daylight. My current Canon VIXIA HF R80 is very difficult to use the screen to video outside, and it does not have an eyepiece viewer. Thanks for your review. It was very informative.
Thank you so much for your comment. Unfortunately despite all the technology today, most of these LCD screens outside really have limited use.
But the viewfinder on the P 1000 truly is excellent and I recommend using that because you really can get much steadier shots especially at the longer zoom ranges. Again , thanks for weighing in!
Great review. Very entertaining and informative. I live a few minutes outside NYC and I want to buy a P1000.. who do you recommend?
Thank you ! I recommend B and H Photo but it’s been really hard to get anywhere !!
மிகவும் அருமை.. அற்புதம்.. ஆச்சரியம்..
Thank you !
Oh, and you earned a new sub too.
Thank you ! Much appreciated
Thank you for doing this video.
I definitely liked and subscribed.
I wonder how good it is for simple bird watching.
By the way you have a great place and location.
Cheers.
Thank you sir. I think it would be great for bird watching. I would suggest a tripod however !
Best camera
Nice 👍🏻

Wow, i thought you were kidding about the 1000 subs, i haven't looked, but your production was really warm/inviting and organised, something that i expect from a big channels. 👌😉
Anyways, awesome video on a *tool* for proving the Earth is flat hahaha... I bet i just triggered bunch of people
Haha. I like it. Thanks very much for your comment and insight !!
Hi - Love your video. Will this be a good camera for makig CZcams videos? Any suggestions please?
Hi ! You could definitely use it for CZcams videos although for vlogging it’s a bit big and heavy but you can see the video quality is really good. Thanks for watching !!
Avete qualche consiglio o opzione per il mirino? Vorrei trovare un mirino da aggiungere con conchiglia gommata ma fino ad oggi non ho trovato nulla che si possa adattare
A fantastic engaging and professionally made video; I was already keen on the P1000 but now I’m pretty much sold on it but can you tell me if it’s possible to achieve a nice depth of field with zoomed in nature shots?
Hi! And thank you so much for your comment With the extreme zoom yes you can get good depth of field with distant subjects ! Definitely
Great, thankyou! Keep up the great work :)
I am confused between Canon M50 Mark2 and Nikon P1000. Sometimes want to buy Nikon P1000 because of its extraordinary zoom and sometimes for M50 Mark2 for its auto focus and better photography at low light than P1000. How does P1000 perform for portrait photography? And please suggest me a better camera from these two... And finally Thanks for this great video.
Hi ! Thanks for your comment. The Canon M50 Mark 2 is actually not a point and shoot, all in one camera like the Nikon is. For the Canon you need to buy separate lenses, etc. The Nikon's superzoom lens is built in. Of course, the Nikon has a much smaller sensor, so they are 2 very different animals. While the Nikon really isn't designed for portraits, you certainly can use it for that, and the results will be fine. There will be limited depth of field due to its smaller sensor, so if you're looking for that portrait look with a blurry background, you need to be zoomed in pretty tight to achieve that. It really depends what you want. Both are good cameras. Just very very different! I will have an upcoming video on the Nikon shooting portraits so please subscribe for that. Thank you
*You are at least using and demonstrating the P1000 in a reasonable manner - You're using it on a tripod ! For the life of me, I cannot understand why folks would think they could get great movies while zooming in and out @ 3,000 mm equivalent focal lengths hand held ? Frankly, much could be done to increase the overall steadines of shots by using a very substantial tripod, turning off active stabilization, and using a wavelength filter to reduce some of the heatwave distortion effects evident at extreme telephoto focal length shooting. Also, avoid using the (digital zoom) part of the zoom in feature, and keeping your zoom ins to the (optical) range of the lens.*
Great points ! By the way none of my footage was shot with digital zoom which is quite ridiculous to use on a camera with a 3000 mm optical zoom !
@@techtoremember8096 Agreed. :)
Pls tell me, according to you, which camera is the best camera for optical zooming video shooting and optical zooming shots as far away as possible?
Well I have reviews on the Nikon and the Sony Rx10 mk 4. The Nikon is excellent and gives you a 3000mm reach. The Sony is a bit better picture with a 600mm zoom if you are looking for really far away get the Nikon !
Lets just for one second highlight that WOW the kid has an awesome TSHIRT haha
Haha. He did steal the show !
i'am the men with White shirt ! in terece :)

Hi yes it is a lot of fun but yes rents keep going up it’s crazy !
@@techtoremember8096 Sorry for personal question, but did you move to NYC or have you been living there your whole life?
