Mostly...However I think it needs a 6cm wheelbase stretch then I would buy it. It is too short...so it can fit in a small box. Imagine the same thing with a moderately longer wheelbase. It will still fit under the desk and in the elevator with ease plus it will ride better. Does anyone elase agree?

We're all talking about how far we could make it go, and how many batteries would be practical to carry! I like the idea of taking one sport riding, and just going until the battery stops. Swapping in a second battery, and using that as the turn around point to go home. As long as you ride harder on the way out (and it's not all down hill), you're always going to make it home with this approach. :-)

  • @supakat1835
    @supakat1835 Před 3 lety +1

I saw this scooter on the voro motors site, & it does look cool & seems like it will be a lot of fun.
Those minor changes are all on point, adjustable stem is great, but if that fork stem does not have an adjustable riser, thats dealbreaker #1 for me, but from the looks of it it probably does.
Another issue you mentioned but not a dealbreaker for me is full rear fender down to the lower bar, is needed or I will be avoiding every puddle, & simply just avoid riding during & after rain.
Dealbreaker #2 It needs rear suspension, that is what likely contributes to the front shock that was bottoming out especially with the shorter wheelbase, & kids bike sized wheels; might as well just get rid of the front shock altogether to keep the struggle real, or make the frame full suspension; it has dual motors & especially more because it has smaller than typical wheels for a bike, so it makes more sense being dual suspension. Why do the standup scooters doing 45+kph have full suspension? Would you ride a standup scooter with no suspension doing 45+kph? So why ride this @ 45+kph? Not smooth roads everywhere, especially California.
Dealbreaker #3 I will leave right here real simple, hydraulic brake option.

What's wrong with this design: if they designed it with 20" wheels tyres would be so much easier to find, if they put that fork on I'd rather they don't bother since it's not gonna work much anyways (you had to lower the tyre pressure to increase comfort i.e. the fork is trash. That battery being there does lower CG but makes it awkward for people to take it out (you had to bow down). If the battery sits vertical it's easier to remove, and would give you space to engineer in rear suspension.
That's the "improvements" I'd recommend, cause you never mentioned it's price. What's wrong with the scooter industry right now is that we're so used to compromises we become too forgiving to flaws or design issues

saw this in manhattan this summer. it was clearly a form factor i'd been waiting for. problem is it is still too small and diminutive looking. why not lengthen the scooter by 6 to 12 inches and make it 2 inches taller, then it wouldn't look like the child's toy, that it isn't. it would look like the perfect mini compact grom-E. and if you made the seat capable of carrying a 2nd rider. then it's perfect.

I have been following this vehicle since last summer when i first saw it in manhattan new york city.
it's the right form but too small and needs rear suspension. wheel size is finally perfect.
however, wheelbase is too short , and this is inappropriately sized for larger riders altogether.
it looks toyish, and unfortunately would be unstable turning at high speeds, especially over gravel with smaller wheels and high speed profile tires.
for a city vehicle, this must be longer . the seat must be far larger, and adjustable in height.
the foot pegs, and or seat, must also be adjustable for-aft so that all rider sizes can adjust to it.
once these changes are made ( and they are not trivial ) , this will blowout the 'onyx' and even compete with 'cake' vehicles in this genre. the presence of pedals, disqualifies any other model from comparing with 'pedal-less' models. also , bolt-on seats for standing platforms are also insufficient for comparison.
there is no vehicle that is affordeable and dominant , yet, in this class, with swappable battery packs.
the NIU rental e-scooters on the streets of new york (white-labelled under the 'revel' brand) weight 300 plus pounds and , while they comfortable fit a two up set of riders, they are too big and too heavy for the ordinary-use case of these vehicles which may include bringing the vehicle through doorways, outdoor gates, and even parking the vehicle vertically on it's ass-end in a tight spot up against a wall or something.
max-vehicular weight should be 110 pounds, max.
we are getting there. and when we do, i'd buy one.

@@VoroMotors A couple of things I would recommend. It has a rear tail late but whenever I break it would be nice if the rear tail light flashes when I use the breaks. Various styles of triangle bags (one open from the top similar to the Fiido's Q1/S bag and water resistant bag with a double zipper on the side), a bike rack that could hold a cube delivery bag (Uber Eat/Door Dash/etc.), multi customizable/option seats to rider preference, more battery options like Panasonic/LG/Samsung, lighter battery options for those days we don't need more range but have to carry them up flights of stairs for example if a place doesn't have an elevator like a work location or apartment, rear suspension which would probably help the battery and port in the long run. Having a battery bounce or with the road vibration the port can get damage over time. I can say that last part can be an issue. I own a Levy Plus and with most of the road being smooth in my area over time just small road vibration has damaged my battery and part. It's close to happening again where I have to buy a new controller which connects to the battery and the battery port itself gets damaged.

Also another thing I should add in. Is an option to lock and unlock the speed. It should have an option where you can lock the speed at 15 mph or 20 mph and can still enjoy the long range, better hill climbing, high torque compare to rental scooters. That way if one gets pulled over in a bike trail or bike lane and they wanted to see the top speed on it. It can get you out of trouble if you're riding it in the locked speed mode. You could unlock in areas on the road where the speed limit is around 30 mph.
