It's an upgrade to the original HS700, that I never got a chance to review, and has an upgraded camera. I was fairly impressed with it's flight performance and BLOWN AWAY by the range I got from the 5G wifi - over 800 meters on the first flight. Thanks to all my subscribers that watch & LIKE my videos. I try to keep my reviews causal and informal... it's just my style! However, no matter how much work I put into editing and doing these drone reviews, I can't seem to get rid of that ONE HATER (troll) that keeps giving me the THUMBS DOWN on all of my videos, almost as soon as I post them. It might be a bot so don't get so upset. You obviously have a good following of 25 thousand so just ignore the hatters. I know this review is 2 years old. I am just getting into flying drones and liked your review along with the many others. I wanted a beginner drone with some basic features so i can get started. I ended up buying an older version the HS 700. This way i can learn basics and start deciding what my next steps are.

$249.95 wow..can you imagine what this drone would have cost a few years back... Syma opened the door back then and slammed it in their face. Got half a Syma on my wall.. that's all that's left.... Great review as always.

Ahhh that was nice. Outside for me was snowing a little and a dull day almost dark at 5 pm now ha ha .. Look at your almost green grass!! yeah. You will find birds like that will always circle back and either land again same place or like they did, just bugger off lololol but they will circle at least once. Great video as usual. Happy Flying

Thank YOU! I've been in R\C fixed and rotary wings for years finally moved to drones. I bought a $50 "toy" for the feel, and a HS 700D for flying. I just can't seem to get to trust the electronics enough to climb over 50' and further than 300'. How do you gain the faith needed? This video shows you do an out-of-the -box full faith flight! Oh yeah, I'm 73 .... That may have a bit to do with it..😂 . Again, thanks for the positive attitude video.

That Holystone did well. It did do the Bugs long distance characteristics and return. Bugs is one of my favorite brand. I did noticed that the Holystone has a better camera than the bugs. Crystal clear picture. I wish the drone companies would go back to 5.8ghz UHF radio frequency, it is almost unlimited in range. NICE REVIEW BRO.

I will say until they build one with 3 axis gimbal I won’t be buying again. 249 you can buy a fimi a3 or JJRC aurora both with great gimbals. Come on Holy Stone

I had a similar range experience with mine, it really shocked me in a good way. If this quad had Hi/Low speed switch it would be Epic. Gotta watch this quad in the wind, it struggles returning home with a stiff breeze.👍🏻

Another good review and a solid looking bird. I do agree with another’s comment of for just a little more I’d get the Mavic mini. But that’s just me. Doesn’t take away from a solid quad right here. And I watch a lot of the videos DJ, I just don’t always comment. Sometimes I’m lacking something witty. Not always on my A game like Soulforce!! POW!

I'm not sure about it's lifting power. It seems to have the same motors as the MJX Bugs 3 Pro, which was NOT able to lift a gimbal with a GoPro on it!!! Maybe I'll do a test in the future. Thanks for watching and your question!!!

I recognize Holy Stone as an Amazon available product. I've purchased Holy Stone 1S batteries & multi 1S battery chargers, which work fairly well. Also, its more reliable than ordering from "Coronavirus Central", better known as China ( Bang-you-Good). Not sure why they've not put an Imperial / Metric option in, so you can read distances in FEET or yards instead of Meters. The camera on these quads still have too wide an angle lens, giving them fish-eye, and also noticed some Jello. The quality is on par with the old 808 Keychain camera. One of the Bugs 2 models actually had a decent camera in it, but I don't remember which one. The wi-fi is pretty useless, what with all the drops and lag. Not sure what happened when you tried to shoot the pool, and it just said "screw you, I'm not doing anything anymore!". Not sure if those TX antennas are dummies or real .. might try putting some reflectors on them to see if the drops/freezes stop. I wonder if having one of those BRIGHT ORANGE landing circles would help with RTH accuracy. Some quads need all the help they can get trying to find their way back. I recently did a re-test of RTH on my EVO (after updating FW & App) and it landed smack center of my orange "H" circle (video of that will be up this week). The eBay price is quite a bit better than Amazon. If you remember what we spent on our X380s, and then getting them to have at least a 2 axis gimbal, 1080P HD camera, and FPV (via VTX .. with telemetry) ... this is a bargain, although, the video & performance I get with my modified X380 is still far better than these new FPV/GPS models. Hello I’m having trouble with mine, I can’t seem to get it off the ground once I calibrate it which buttons do I press on transmitter ?
As seen in the video at 2:04, once the calibration is done, press the Red button on top of transmitter to start the motors. Then you can either take off manually or press the Auto Takeoff Button to take off! Good luck, thanks for watching.

Yes, I am a registered drone pilot. Here in the U.S., we are required to register all drones over 1/2 pound. For $5, we are given one registration number to put on all of our drones. Registration is good for 5 years. Thanks for watching and your question!!!
@john doe To register a drone, go to FAA.gov (if you live in the U.S.) They will ask you a few questions and some personal information. To modify this drone to fly farther, I suggest you look into WiFi Boosters. Good luck, thanks for watching.

Just bought a hs 700d and it all works .but I cannot get it to connect to my phone to be able to use the app any idea ??
I can only suggest that you un-install the App, then re-install it. Before you install it, look for a prompt from the App store... it should tell you whether or not your phone is compatible. Actually, in this video I was using the wrong Holy Stone App (not the Ophelia app) and it still worked! Maybe try using a different Holy Stone app (I'm not sure which one I used, I have several Holy Stone apps on my phone. I think I was using the app for the HS161... not sure though!) I agree with your review on the HS700D because I own one and for the price I feel it is a good product. I do have a problem thou, that with your help maybe we can solve. Why build a good product then short change the WiFi for the cell video? I loose video contact with my bird at about half the range and then get into trouble avoiding obstacles that could harm my drone. Is there away to extend the range so I can keep in contact and stay out of destructive situations? I have looked on YOU TUBEbut, with no usable solution to my dilemma. Can you help me out?
This is a tough issue because WiFi range can vary from mobile device to device. So, depending on the quality of your phone, your range could be greater or lesser than mine. Search CZcams for "WiFi Range Boosters & extenders" Good luck buddy, thanks for watching!!!

What's the maximum altitude capability?
I'm not 100% certain but I believe it's geo-fenced at 120 meters (about 400 feet) height. Whenever the max altitude isn't listed, it usually means the drone will set it's max altitude automatically, according to it's GPS location or country that you're flying in. Good luck, thanks for watching!!!
Everything is fine with mine except I can't get maps to work on the app , think my phone is trying to use the drone WiFi for map data , anyone know a fix
Try this: While at home, using your home's wifi, open Google Maps and pull up the area where you plan on flying. In the Map settings, select SAVE MAP and it should work when you're in the field. I hope that helps!!! Thanks for watching and your question. Good luck.

Does this one record the video on a onboard sd card or via the phone? Because it looks like it is skipping frames (jerky video)

How close do you have to be for fpv to be reliable
FPV reception will depend on the quality of your mobile device and surrounding interference. Normally, you should have reliable FPV within 300 meters. Some drones will do more, others will do less. (you'll have to check the drone's specifications)

I've never owned a Holy Stone, but it seems like a pretty solid quad. The controller does look like a Bugs 2 model, and even the drone somewhat resembles the Bugs 3 Pro. Of course it got much better FPV range than OG Bugs 2w. On a related note, I heard the Promark Drones is going out of business.

@@DJSOULFORCE Yes, that was them. You could buy it at Walmart. I had the upgraded GPS X8 clone from Promark. I think all there drones were just clones of someone elses.

So it seems the c fly Dreams(and its Copy Birds) are the better Birds because of the Camera. This One here hasnt the best Video Quality.

They are ALL BUGS 3s..They throw in Wi-Fi paint it different colors n n call it FORCE1 F200....same stuff... they came up with the Bugs 2 simply painted the BUGS 3 a different color.. wtf?? Confusion means money!! But if u ask Jay Drone...he swears the MJX RED BUGS 3 IS FASTEST .... HUH??
