By far THE BEST tutorial of this drone. I got one for Christmas and went through tons of videos looking for help for 1st time droners and this guy nails it. All the other ones were videos of pics and videos the drone took, not how to use the drone and app.
I did have a ‘fly away’ with this drone last week when the return to home button failed and flew off in the other direction and never came back. But fair play to Holy Stone. They replaced the drone within a week after speaking with their customer service team. Just be careful where you are flying the drone. It works best in open space and always make sure you recalibrate the gyro after each flight!

After my Contixo F6 took on a mind of it’s own on its third flight and flew up, over and away to who knows where - gave up after hours of searching undeveloped lots and knocking on doors - I was given the Holy Stone HS700D for my recent birthday No, it’s not the stunt quad the F6 was but the HS700D actually has many more attributes. It’s been flown three times now and I’m quite pleased - it hasn’t blown off all commands and moved on to greener pastures as the F6 did so that is a great start in and of itself! I figured out the basic commands by trial and error but your video has taught me much more about what it will actually do. I’m looking forward to trying many of the same tests that you completed. I admit that I hesitated watching the video based on the length of time but I’m glad I did. Thank you much for taking the time to put this together. Much appreciated.
Oh... on the HS700D the camera is different but uses the same scroll wheel on the side of the controller the 700 does I believe. If it does, how to you like the scroll wheel? Trying to figure out if it’s me or if the scrolling is just not very smooth. Probably me but it would be nice to hear other’s thoughts. Thanks again for all.
Yes, the scroll wheels on these aren't smooth unfortunately.

Fantastic video and information. You tried things I, as a complete rookie, would be a little apprehensive to try (turning off the transmitter to check the RTH functionality, etc.) but I am fairly confident now that I'll give some of these a try. Thanks!

I just wish it was a higher quality sensor for photos. I see alot of cameras that max out at 1080P video, but can take 10-14mp pictures. This is just shy above 2mp.

Adi JSR AMAZON: $230.00 IS NOT EXPENSIVE IMO for a drone with BIG TIME features like this one has. You have to buy some extra batteries though unless you feel like waiting for four hours between flights......NO.......
Also works with the Potensic D85 battery. Props are the same. Basically the same drone different skin.

Hi, great drone review! I just bought the HS700 as a Xmas gift for my brother based on your review. I have a couple questions though. First, do you know if a gimbal can be added to this drone? Second question is about the auto-return functions. My brother will use this while boating. So the Follow Me function will get used a lot as he boats around taking video, etc. But since his starting points will be different due to moving in the boat, do you know if the return home function will work so that it will return to his cell phone location and not the location where he would have originally launched the drone from? First the GPS home point is still the last spot it took off from and you can put a cheap gimbal on it like the walkera g2d plastic gimbal :)

Just bought mine and it's a very smooth fly. Has anyone tried it with VR? I gave it a shot and it was pretty blurry. Not sure if it's a setting, or if it's camera quality.

Yeah, it is a bit pricey in comparison to what we are used to but I gotta give it up to these Amazon sellers investing their money into developing products like this and put it out to Amazon Prime. The overhead must be a crazy high to have it stored at Amazon distributon centers and have it deliver to us in 2 days and they also have to cover the cost of returns themselves.

No GPS unit in the controller. Such quads use the GPS in the phone for the Follow Me & Circle Me functions. If you need it to follow the Tx look at a Hubsan H501ss. It has a fixed internal camera but a better 5.8Ghz FPV system. (No phone needed.)

Does the camera rotate at all? I’m looking for a drone that has a camera that can take photos and videos looking directly downward. So far, all the videos offering demos for this drone have not demonstrated any rotation of the camera. Looks like a good drone, though.

This camera is a stationary camera. For a little more, you might want to consider the dji phantom series :)

You can try the walkera g2d gimbal. It is plastic so it is lighter than the rest :)

Hey great video! Just wondering how you accessed your photos and videos. When i click on my photo icon the screen just shows black. Also, I have a micro sd card in the camera but i have nothing to plug it in to. Is there any other way I can get these photos and videos directly onto my phone? A different app? Thanks!
I think if you use a card, it will record into the card. If you don't use a card, it will record to your camera roll.

You should not fly this indoors.
It is big and it will damage stuff or cut you up severely. I would fly in a wide open area without trees or obstacles )
@@RCEscape Yes you are quite right about the weight of the Drone compared to my HS200D which is a little smaller (in plan) but very much lighter than the HS700.
I can understand with the weight & probably much more powerful motors, but other than that is the HS700 more difficult to control in your opinion?
Yeah, the hs200d may scratch you up but the hs700 will cut you up. just in case.

There's no settings for the fisheye I'm afraid...
I don't know what battery drains faster, my phone's or the drone's battery.

Just do a mod on the connector for the battery and add a jst connector so you can use a hobby grade charger. I now takes just 1 hour to charge up the battery.

Good review thorough.,no nonsense ,I like holy first quad I got was hs230 which I love was expensive aswell for what I could be got at the price but it's quality well tuned fast responsive quad only thing I don't like bout this quad is the WiFi fpv never buying a WiFi quad with app again the main link in set up is your phone and quality of WiFi not all Android phones are the same mines seems to get no more than 50 metres WiFi to any routers or connected external devices any quad that uses a phone is bad news and a step backwards ,, but atleast that controller will be 2.4ghz so could just fly it with controller Los leave phone in yah pocket for telephone calls old school
Step backwards? What? FPV video is a good addition to flight capabilities. It is not the main R/C control, so if you don't find it useful, don't get hung up on it.

you could with the right mounting hardware but it of course will be a stand alone camera.

Great video... I'm actually buying one...I don't understand all the comments about being overpriced though..299 on Amazon prime.. I was wondering you didn't show the feature where you can draw a course on the map... did you test that feature? Because that's the main reason I'm buying it. And the only other drone that offers that are around 1000 dollars

Mine won't fly all of a sudden. WiFi says connected but got this by the signal bar. ! And it says root settings. Contact Holystone and they says follow root settings? I don't know how anyone help please

Is it normal that you have to calibrate the drone everytime you shut it off to replace the battery?
If you change locations but it doesn't hurt.
The dial should control the camera tilt.
On mine the Wi-Fi connection shows up just don't ever connect, just says internet may not be available, any ideas?
It's very simple. The drone emits a wifi signal so there is no need for internet service.
