- The current season is over for UNC so it’s time to start looking ahead to the shape of next year’s roster. Who returns? Who leaves? Only Armando Bacot, Cormac Ryan, and Paxson Wojcik are out of eligibility. Everyone else from the roster is eligible to come back - Elliot Cadeau, RJ Davis, Harrison Ingram, Seth Trimble, Jalen Washington, Zayden High, Jae’lyn Withers, and James Okonkwo. Harrison is a small ball 4 but natural 3. No situation will he be a 5 unless we’re playing a Division 2 school. I also believe Ian Jackson will be a day 1 starter.
If RJ comes back , Ian will start at the 3 assuming EC will start at the 1 and RJ obviously at 2.
Athletically, seeing Withers, Ingram, Trimble, Jackson and Cadeau on the floor, trapping and in transition is exciting!
would like to have a C (not confident in Washington yet nor Brown) and a PF or big SF that can shoot the 3.

Duke didn't have anyone transfer in or out. I think they were the only team in the country that had that.

Carolina will definitely recruit a Center and a Shooter to replace Bacot and Ryan.
RJ recently received a "Grad school" scholarship. So that should free-up a sports scholarship for the team to use elsewhere, correct?
If Withers was a Sr in 23-24 why wasn’t he honored on Sr night? I was at game. RJ, Bacot, Paxson, Cormac, Creighton, Duwe and Landry were honored. Did he choose not to be honored?

My is jerry , love the show. I think the transfer portal should happen immediately after championship game. Here is why. In the nba worst teams get the top picks. If you are playing in the final 4 you have the best teams in country. I believe the worst teams should have the most time to recruit & prepare. So they get a chance to make the biggest difference with the portal. Go Heels.
If RJ doesn't return I'm looking for Washington to either the #1 or 2 scorer, transfer portal May 1rst- June 15
Washington has no ACLs.....if he is our leading scorer we are in trouble
i think all that can will return except maybe ingram and high. ingram has a legit chance at the NBA and high may not get any more minutes next season and choose to go where he will. withers and okonkwo used their transfers already unless they want to sit out a year. just do not see how rj could make more money and definitely will not have 20K fans chanting his name when he is gone from UNC. drake and or ian will start by ACC, imo. but if RJ returns, i could see ian changing his mind and going elsewhere.

RJ test the waters and return. Depending on his stock, Ingram may come back or leave. Washington get stronger and return. Cadeau works on his shooting and comes back. I think Trimble might transfer. High,Withers and Okonkwo will transfer imo. Bring in Brown,Powell and Jackson. With the scholarships available go get some bigs,beef and some shooters. I'm relying on Washington to be a 4 and bring along Brown gradually. Just my thoughts.
I agree with all of that honestly, except I have a hard time seeing Washington at the 4. He just doesn't have the mobility.
@@ericconfer2649 Maybe perhaps they could run a high-low game with a big from the portal. I like the kid from Florida Atlantic. 7'1" very active. Keeps the ball high. Rim protector. Strong finisher and runs the court. Washington may have to loosen up and look for his outside shot more instead of being a back to the basket player.
@kevinbutler3699 I would be shocked if the Florida Atlantic kid doesn't go to Michigan with his head coach. Also, rumors are that Trimble is transferring but I hope he doesn't. He is so important to this team.

We need to go get another big....Jalen Washington is not it....he was a 5 star player until he torn his ACL.....then in his senior season in high school he tore it again......he will never be strong or quick enough to log alot of minutes......we have to get another big
We're going to be guard heavy, two incoming top ten five stars are not going to be happy riding the bench, especially Jackson. Think Cadeau or Trimble will be happy getting less playing time next year? Yes, transfer portal opening needs to be delayed till after the tournament is over.

In the world of NIL, Transfer portal & the NBA calling, you really think two 5 star McDonald’s all Americans are coming off the bench for Trimble? All 3 of those starting 5 options are NIT bound. Every lineup you built has the same issue we saw vs Alabama, RJ being the only shot creator.
Washington should be starting C. He always had solid minutes and contributions. Great size and can finish underneath. Elliot at PG, RJ at SG, Harrison at SF or PF. I don't trust Withers to start. Need to see massive improvement from him. Can't say who I'd have the last starter be right now. Trimble at SF is the next best option to me.

I can't see Ingram leaving after 1 season at Carolina considering the fact he was being recruited years ago by RW.
He may leave if he can be drafted late in the first round. He likely would be drafted between 31-38.
If these guys are getting NIL money, why do they need scholarships? Can’t they just pay for school themselves? Just add another 100k on NIL contracts.

Good question. Also, can the NCAA control how many players on a roster are receiving compensation, either with a scholarship or getting NIL dollars to make up for the cost of a scholarship? A coach could have 10 on scholarship and 1-3 on NIL money. The school saves scholarship dollars.
Im not all that big on Cadeau cause he cant shoot the ball and he's not big enough to get to the basket all the time. To me, a Guard that cant shoot is a worthless Guard. It leaves room to double team other players. I would rather Cadeau transfer than Ian to decommit, if RJ returns

Grew up a big Carolina fan. Not interested anymore. Black coach. All the players black next year..Never fails when you hire a black coach. All the players who see the court are eventually black. Don't see anybody who looks like me.
