- BYU’s 6’11 F Noah Waterman entered the transfer portal earlier this week (which he was able to do thanks to Mark Pope leaving for Kentucky, which triggers a 30-day portal entry window). He is an intriguing stretch ‘4’ that might just pair nicely with the other players at North Carolina. Is Waterman worth the coaching staff taking a look at? If so, how do you handle those conversations with Vanderbilt transfer Ven-Allen Lubin, who is currently on a visit to Chapel Hill?
Coleman Hawkins has had some interesting social media responses to Great Osobor’s reported $2 million NIL deal. Does he ultimately want to be in that same tier? Harrison Ingram has firmly and publicly shut the door on a return to UNC; and did so in the most appropriate way possible.

Looking at Waterman's BYU stats, he topped out during his Freshman year, declined thereafter (no remarkable stats), and he is really no bigger than who we already have. Bringing him in would be "settling." Better to get someone like Lubin and leave one scholarship open for someone possibly withdrawing from the NBA draft. Just run two 4s for the game.
I heard Hawkins personally say he did not want to come back to school. He's ready to move on.

Folks thrive on stats. I focus on ability and what a player can offer. Waterman can step out a shoot the heck out of the ball. You can't teach 6'11" and I think Hawkins wants to stay in the draft. Lubin is currently on campus. We can only assume. But to have Waterman outside and a J-Wash inside...I say why wait if the player fits than wait on uncertainty. The saga continues....
We do rely on our centers to get rebounds. We have always relied on our center to get rebounds. If we do group rebound, but our center is usually the leading rebounder
Unless you get an exception guy like Ingram who ball hawks every shot, then you are right UNC has always been a center rebound based club.
I just want to wait. Everyday we talk about somebody in the portal. Let's just wait to see who the coaching staff wants to bring.

Hawkins is back tracking now because he shot himself in the foot with teams not willing to pay 2+. I love listening to y’all but get so tired of y’all covering up for the immaturity of these players because you want them on our team. They act like that I don’t want them. I’ve been seeing your comments on here for some time. I thought I’d reply with some constructive criticism of your comments.
First of all, hypotheticals are a major part of covering a sports team. Especially on a daily podcast. This time of year there isn’t enough content to drive daily podcasts so you have to look at what could be happening. It’s typically a really great exercise for listener engagement and breaking down the UNC roster and where it could turn is the number 1 interest for most UNC fans right now.
2) On a personal note, do you find enjoyment in your negativity? I guess my biggest thing is, if this podcast isn’t for you then quit clicking on CZcams and tuning in to watch Locked On Tar Heels. Either you keep watching because you enjoy the show or you just want to come here to be negative. I’d recommend trying to cut the negative out. Brings you down as well as others.
3) Isaac is a great dude. He pours his time away from his family into this show to produce quality content for Carolina fans. I’m not asking you to never disagree, I’m asking that if you do you either keep it to yourself or find betters ways to communicate that.
