UNC Recruiting: Will Jarin Stevenson give the Heels a Fab Five in 2024? | OL transfer Willie Lampkin

- North Carolina already has a four-player class in 2024 with Ian Jackson, Elliot Cadeau, James Brown, and Drake Powell. Hubert Davis is owning the recruiting trail, and he’s not done. Carolina could potentially create a starting five from this one class if they land a PF. Enter Jarin Stevenson, who could be the fifth player in the class and give the Heels their own version of a Fab Five. Jason Jordan joins Isaac Schade to unpack Stevenson’s game and recruitment.
On the football side of things, UNC has a lot to replace on the offensive line, so bringing in the Sun Belt’s 2022 offensive lineman of the year, Willie Lampkin will go a long way toward helping replace a depleted line under first year OL Coach Randy Clements. In a dream world, either Elliot or Ian reclassifies to next year, jarin commits and also in replacement of one of those guards who reclassifies we get boogie fland to the class.

UNC needs some of these oad.. need that brand represented in the NBA again!!
I think Stevenson will be a big-time add and I do believe he will be here for 2023 I believe we going to hear from that real soon and I also believe he will be a starter
Would love Stevenson, heck who wouldn't, but after this 2024 class I hope UNC doesn't make this the norm and turn into another Duke/UK (Just got nauseous writing that) and we end up as a one-n-done school. I like the players like Dunn, Leaky, Love, Davis, Bacot, Nickle...players that are going to stick around and sure sprinkle in a top 5/10 player in the mix to round out the team.
I disagree we needed more talent than we were getting torwards then end of Roy’s tenure. It’s better to get a bunch of 5 stars and either win or convene a few to stay than having multiple recruiting classes of guys like kerwin walkton and the will shavers of the world, and the nba part plays a role. The more talented players we get the more nba players the more brand marketing for the college which leads to better recruiting and better results so I disagree if we go the only 5star route I’m on board.

Roy was going for these players they just weren’t coming. I think UNC will always have a decent mix. But we want all the talent. Let’s get greedy.

Reminds me of 2020 when we got Caleb love #7 in the class, (what in the world happened to him?), dayron Sharpe, walker Kessler, puff Johnson, RJ Davis, and kerwin Walton all in the same year. We were stacked in 2020 but still struggled.
I think the 24 class is a good mix. We've got 4 really good players and not all of them are projected one and done. With the players that'll probably still be around and the players coming it rounds out a pretty good team.

We need them.Cause anything less than sweet 16 this year would keep this as 1 of the most disappointing seasons.
Hopefully Stevenson comes and this class validates their rankings! I want the best of the best!! Caleb Love was projected as a one and done and if he lived up to it we would have a Title by now.

@@charlesdiggs5128 lol this was in response to ppl objecting to Carolina going after one and dones. I'm also saying the rankings don't determine what you'll do in College. I was using Caleb as an example but If Caleb gets it together I will be very happy for him. I'm a Tar Heel fan and support All the players. Facts are not hate either...
I don't begrudge one and dones but I'm not a fan.... especially multiples. NIL obviously helps some keeping dudes around.
I hear what you are saying but we’ve always had top talent…just wasn’t the oad era. Finally the big time recruits are coming and I’m enjoying it.
I hesitate to rejoice over top 10s. Stay away from OADs I say. Unless it's like an empty roster spot we need to fill. Save scholarships for those guys who plan to stay but we must get better at developing players. We have 4 and 5 year talent now and still can't seem to stay consistent. Don't think players are the problem atp.
