can you explain why you prefer adding area lights to your windows over just setting the intensity of the directional light to a higher level? Shouldn't it give the same result since both shine through the windows?

I hope to see an in depth tutorial about this HDRP so we can finally go out from his mysterious tunnel that nobody want to explain and walk finally with on our steps. Congrats well done!!!

This really makes you wonder why unity chose Enlighten and realtime GI as the default approach to Unity (specially since the default Unity configuration is geared towards mobile with forward rendering and gamma colorspace).
It ends up looking worse than baked, it's slow, and you have to keep in mind a lot of stuff (light probes, static meshes, size in lightmap, realtime/mixed/baked lights), and will look worse than baked and perform even worse.
For anyone wondering If you read their guide on realtime GI (around 30 minutes of reading) basically says "reduce your resolution", "reduce big objects resolution on renderer", "small objects are the cause of being slow, keep them dynamic and use light probes".
At least the GPU lightmapper is kinda working now.

Is there a way to avoid having to manually link up all the textures to each material?
My scene has wayyy too many textures to manually apply.

You can include your texture and material when exporting from your 3D software. Which 3d software do you use ?

Sorry I have no idea about Maya. In 3DS max you just export in FBX file format with embedded media option on. Also you have to use standard Material rather then any external materials like vray, octane etc.

@@UGuruz Yes, Maya has the same Embed media option.
Thanks for the help but I did find a workaround.
I import my FBX into a non HDRP project on Unity.
Then I convert the project to HDRP then update all materials from Standard Assets to HDRP materials.
The issue was just that if I import on a HDRP project, the materials are always blank and do not have their associated textures assigned.

@@aussieraver7182 One solution which i use is : you can write an editor script to automate this process. This script is supposed to create the material based on the textures you have selected.

Are using 2019.3 ? If yes then you first create an empty game object attach a "Volume" component create a new profile and then you can add fog and sky from the "Add Override button".

Yes it does. To get best results scale your scene according to real world measurement. In Unity 1 unit = 1 meter so scale you scene accordingly.
